Okay, that was the last chance she was giving him. If he'd just taken it back, everything would have been fine. But, he'd condemned himself with his own silence. She pulled her fist back before letting it fly towards the boy.

Stasia frowned, glancing at the clock. Her little 'Zu had been gone for a while now....it shouldn't take this long to go to the store and back. She paced about the kitchen, glancing at the clock, worried. Where could that girl be? What was taking her so long? Was she alright?

Thali was fuming. She'd found her baby on the sidewalk, knocked out of all things. He looked like he'd been in a fight, the bruises around his eyes already starting to form, the blood streaks coming from his nose had dried. She'd brought him inside (like the good mother she was) and set him on the couch. Poor baby. She knew he probably hadn't fought back. He was just that kind of person. Humility. He probably hadn't known what to do.
The angry elf dialed the first number to come into her head. Stasia's. "Stasia? Vincent's hurt. Bad." She said, forcing calm into her voice.

Stasia jumped as the phone rang. Maybe that was her 'Zuba calling! She ran to the phone, answering. She was a bit disappointed; it was just Thali. A concerned look sprung to her face. "Oh my gosh, what happened to the little guy?" she asked, concerned. Vincent didn't look like an easy lad to hurt!

Thali took a deep breath, before saying anything. "Someone beat him up. I don't know who, or why.. I can't imagine anyone being angry with him, he's so sweet. I don't think he fought back, it looks like whoever did it had the advantage." She sighed. "He hasn't come to yet."

Stasia bit her lip. Usually, she'd hop right over there, but... "Thali, I'd love to come over and help, but...'Zuba's been gone a while. I need to stay here in case she shows up or calls." Worry was easily heard in her tone; while her baby was old enough to handle herself, that didn't stop her from being concerned.

"Oh, 'Zuba's missing?" Thali sounded concerned as well. She knew and liked 'Zuba. "I'll help you find her. Ben says he'll keep an eye on Vinny." There was a pause in which arguing could be heard on the elf's end. "Yes, he agrees." Thali said, obviously having gotten the final word. "He says he wishes he could help as well."

Stasia smiled. "Thanks, Thali. I'll meet you over at your place, okay?" she said, shifting her weight. "That way, I can check on Vinny while I'm at it." She was worried about the boy...how badly was he hurt that Thali had called her? "See you in a few?"

"Right." Thali said, with a nod, before she realized her friend couldn't see it from the other side of the phone line. "I'm sure she hasn't gone far, maybe she met up with some friends." Ben frowned at his wife, and signaled for her to get off the phone. "I'll see you in a bit, then." She said, before hanging up the phone.

Stasia arrived at Thali's house a few minutes later, pulling up into the driveway and hopping out of the car. She jogged to the door, knocking on it a couple times before attempting to turn the handle. Hey, if it was unlocked, why wait for them to answer, right? Right.

Ben opened the door, and forced a smile when he saw Stasia. "Hey." He said. "He's coming to now, Thali's with him. Poor kid." The man led her inside, before muttering something about 'And I thought Josh would be the first one to get into a fight...'.
Thali looked up from the couch, she'd been kneeling there, trying to reassure Vinny. The poor preteen had his eyes barely open, they were swollen and purple. His nose was bleeding again.

Stasia walked over to the poor kid, kneeling down to his level. "Hey, Champ..." she greeted, smiling lightly. Good Lord; who the hell had gotten a hold of him? She gentle ruffled his hair, trying not to put too much pressure. "You doing okay?" Oh, the poor baby!

Vincent stared at Stasia for a moment, through unfocused eyes. He tried to smile, and failed. The result wasn't very pretty. "Tell--tell 'Zuba I'm sorry." He managed. "Tell her--I'm--" He fell silent and sighed. His head was pounding, it hurt to even speak. He felt sick.
Thali looked to her friend. "He's been apologizing ever since he woke up." She said with a sigh. "I don't know what happened, but it sounds like he saw 'Zuba. Maybe she's still in Barton."

Stasia merely nodded, still looking at the boy. She leaned over, giving him a gentle smile. "Vincent? Can you tell us what happened?" she asked, using the same sweet lilting tone she used with her kids when they needed to be comforted. Oh, the poor thing.... She reached up, gently brushing the hair out of the boy's face.

Vinny looked at Stasia for a moment, and for that moment, his eyes seemed to focus on her. "'Zuba." He said, trying to keep his head from pounding. "Said...bossy..'Zuba...got mad." His words were mangled and confused sounding.
"'Zuba got mad?" Thali asked, narrowing her eyes. Oh, if 'Zuba had done this...she'd never forgive the girl. "Why'd she get mad?"
But Vinny didn't seem able to answer her question, or maybe he was just unwilling.

Stasia looked surprise. Could Azubahiel have done this to him? That seemed way out of character for the girl! She'd seemed so happy lately. She forced a small smile, then looked to Thali. "You may want to get him medical attention." she said, speaking softly. "Think he might have a concussion or something." She still couldn't believe her little ZuZu could have done this.....she just couldn't have.
