In her musings as to why he had chosen not to learn Kawani she had also missed out on two very important points. The first was that he didn't want to be here and the second was that he was incredibly antisocial - why in the name of the gods would he choose to learn a language he would never use... or perhaps that should have been 'remember' the language. He truly didn't care for the company and it wasn't through dimwittness or superiority that he chose not to speak it; he just didn't care enough to try.
...So, why would he have another speak for him?
It was illogical!
He furrowed his brow for a few moments and then carefully began to jot down his response. It was curt enough and definitely to the point. He pointed out, his unimpressed expression was a clear indication that he didn't really appreciate the idea of having a constant companion to chat in his ear, for all he knew the creature could deliberately meddle in his affairs and force company on him more than the spirits did - the horror of it!
