Her tail flicked from side to side as she had a pleased look upon her face, watching him move closer to her. It seemed that she was getting through to the older lion. Kaihdin knew that if their friendship could be strong, then she would have one of the best friends she could possibly find sitting right in front of her.
Although there was to be absolutely no complaining whatsoever if that friendship happened to be or turn into something more. That wasn't the plan, or the point right now. She simply really liked Raruo for his company, his personality.
Her eyes twinkled at him and her smile widened. "I try to be an innately friendly person," she replied with a slight nod. Secretly, inwardly, she would love to spend more time with him as well. She was glad he had asked. Said, rather.
"I would very much enjoy spending more time with you."

"That's a good foil," Raruo said, pretending to put a lot of practical thinking into their relationship, whatever it was destined to be, "you being friendly. Me being... not. I might learn a few things from you yet, which would be a thing to see. Lions would line up to see me being as nice as I am to you. Well. Not as nice, probably."
He grinned at her, feeling relaxed. Comfortable. Happy. More of any of those things than he had for some time. He felt the impulse to nuzzle her fur, or something, but he didn't want to spoil the moment. So he sat with her as time drifted on, engaging in whatever conversation came up and, with each moment, feeling the pull of awkwardness lessen.
In a relatively short amount of time, he was completely relaxed, and even laughing.
Or rather, he thought it had been short. Looking up at the sky, however, he saw that it hadn't been quite so. He frowned, then looked at her with an apologetic, resigned expression.
"It's getting late... I suppose I should... get back to the pride, lest they think I ran off." He grinned. They wouldn't think that, of course. He doubted anyone would notice his absence, and if they did they would hardly question him about it.

Kaihdin laughed and wrinkled her nose at him. "Is it that rare to see you being nice to someone else? If that's the case, I think I would appreciate it if you weren't as nice to everyone else as you are to me. I am a bit greedy, you'll find." Besides, she was the one who found him first. If the other females in his pride hadn't picked him up yet, then that was their fault.
Their loss, her (extreme) gain.
Their conversation continued on for a time, growing lighter in subject and had both lions laughing at what the other said. She was happy that he had relaxed to the point of letting most--if not all, since he probably had others she didn't know about--of his barriers down in front of her, truly smiling when he did. She saw that, and it made her smile even more.
When he pointed out the sun's position, Kaihdin frowned as well and made a face. "It always seems to get late just when it shouldn't," she sighed. But she smiled up at him anyway. Would he run off? For her?
"I'm sure I will see you soon. Tomorrow, I'll be here. Same time." It wasn't so much as an invitation as a demand, really. And she hoped that he showed up again.
