((I declare this RP... Open, for now)) I woke, with a groan. I had dreamed of her parents again. How I missed them. I rubbed my eyes, watching my red hair fall infront of my face. They kept talking about this MMORPG, Myths of Magic again.
I got up and stretched and went over to the computer, and checked the downloads. The game had just finished, and I clicked the button to start installation. I hoped it was a good game-- why else would my parents be nagging me to play?
After eating breakfast I sat down and started up the game. I thought for a moment as it was checking for patches and I pulled out my cell, setting a timer. 3 1/2 hours should do it.

(yay!)
Another day has gone by that my parents are not here with me, I hope that they are happy whereever they are. I sigh heavily as I walk out of my room and into the hallway. It's short and barren with no paint or pictures on the wall, this does not bother me. My office room or what ever is where I usually do my school assignments and other things, like for instance a game that I've heard about. I've just started to play it, it's really good fun. Though hard at parts, I was almost killed by a beast but I was able to take it down though I lost half of my health.

I typed in my password and account ID and created my character-- a tall woman with green eyes and dark red hair. She blinked ad breathed as I continued crafting the character.
Then I clicked continue, and I waited for the server to load. I blinked, then gasped, as my eyes went blank.
I found myself in a clearing. I looked down at my hands. It was as if I was really in the game! I flexed my fingers, feeling my fingers press against my palm. This place was REAL. I could see other newbie players, looking over their character's bodies, and a little while away I saw a rat, the size of a large terrier. I gulped.

Jace was on his way home when some of the bullies from school came out, in their hands were crosses. Oh so they found out my Mom was a vampire, geez what happened to invasion of privacy laws. he thought as the biggest one put the crucifix to Jace's forehead, nothing happened. "Gentlemen this is getting old, I keep telling you I'm human, holy water won't work, throwing me in a lake won't work, and chanting some mystic mumbo-jumbo will not make me burst into flames, now if you continue to stand in my way I'll have to kick the crap out of you guys again." Jace said but the bullies still refused to stand aside. 3 minutes later Jace was walking to the game store with the money from all of the boy's wallets. Jace had heard some people at school talking about a new game called Myths of Magic It sounded good and Jace was going to buy it after everyone else did, but his little occult annoyances had given him plenty of cash to get it, and maybe a copy of Halo 3, ODST.

I looked down at myself, seeing that I had a sack on my back. I opened it and I found a knife. I picked it up and felt it's weight in my palm. I flipped the knife and caught it by the handle, withskill I thought I'd never have in real life. I stared at the rat, and I caught the knife by the tip in my fingers, and with a flick, sent it hurtling at the rat, burying the dagger hilt deep into the creature's rump.
"Sccrrreeeeeee!!!!"
The large rat turned around and rushed right at me, and I jumped out of the way. I then felt something cold slip back into my hand-- the dagger was back in my hand from when I had pulled it out of my bag.

Alex Rorsche slammed the door and raced for his bedroom, swinging his backpack into a corner and pulling out his wheeled computer chair. This was finally the day! His parents had been dropping hints all week, and now he was finally able to gaze at his own copy of Myths of Magic sitting in front of his wireless keyboad. He had been wanting the game ever since it had come out, and now he was able to discover the wonderful game experience he just knew it would offer.
Completely ignoring his homework, Alex slid the CD into his monitor and waited for the disc to load. After hitting a few buttons, he paced back and forth, anticipation leaking out in large amounts.
Finally, after what seemed like hours of loading, the program flipped past sponsors and towards instructions.1) Sit or lay in a comfortable position.
2) Press "enter" or click on "play."
3) Enjoy the game experience. Alex knew this was supposed to be a sort of "virtual reality" game, so it was no wonder he would need to be in a comfortable position. If he was going to be playing for a few hours - as he no doubt would - he wouldn't want to be getting back to a totally numb body.
He pulled out his futon and settled down comfortably onto it, then reached over to his keyboard and hit enter.
For a moment, nothing happened. Alex brought his hand back to rest on his stomach, trying not to jump up out of impatience and see if the disc was scratched and not working.
Then, his whole scenery changed. Around him was a cow pasture, apparently, which acted as a home for some bulls and more cows. The fake wind rustled through his long hair, blowing dark long strands of it into his face.
For some reason, he didn't even have to ask what he looked like. He just instinctively knew. And for once, he didn't rush off to a mirror to admire the change.
Alex realized he even breathed in the game. Not only that, he could smell the sweat and refuse that drifted on the wind from the cow pasture. The game was so realistic.
"Oi! You there!" A man, dressed in a nobleman's clothing rode up to Alex on a fine white horse. "Who be you?" he asked in a heavily accented voice.
Whether it was a player moderator, an NPC, or one of the programmers' characters himself, Alex already knew the answer to the question.
"My name is Ori. Ori I."

Jace got home with the games he bought and decided to see if Myths of Magic really was all that in a bag of potato chips. He started up the game, got comfy and created his username, Admiralcrispyflakes. After that he was put into the game. Virtual Reality, very impressive. Jace thouhgt as he looked around for some place to see what his character looked like he found a slab of ice and saw his character had black hair and blue eyes. He looked around for something to do then he saw some NPC kid looking like he had to pee. Jace walked over and decided to see what the kid had to say. A few minutes later Jace was on his first in-game quest to find the ice mirror stashed away in some out-of-the-way, BFC, mountain place.

Ori I followed the path to the mountain, noticing immediately that there was another player in front of him going the same direction. He didn't want to appear like he was following "Admiralcrispyflakes", so he walked a little faster.
When he spoke, it was different from speaking. He felt he had to say something that suited the atmosphere, something more medieval than he was used to.
"Hello, friend. You are seeking the Mirror as well, am I correct?"
Maybe they would be able to search together. Ori I knew he had some kind of power in his digital genes, he was able to conjure a simple flame, and perhaps fight with the fire as well. However, he also felt its desire to be free and reckless and untamed.
He would have to be careful if he wished to control his power and use it effectively.

Jace noticed someone else come up and ask if they could help with his crappy starter quest. "I guess so, you would happen to have a little firepower with you, do you?" Jace asked then crossed his arms. He needed something to melt the ice wall that prevented him from getting to that damn mirror.

I watched the rat writhe, and I poked the corpse of the now dead rat. Tied around it's neck, hidden by the fur, was a pouch. I opened it and found a small handful of coins. I took the coins and wandered over to a nearby NPC.
Thus started a typical fetch quest.
After a few minutes of running around, I found myself looking for an Ice Mirror. Hiking up the mountain, I wrapped my new cloak around me-- I had found it on the ground in the village. I looked up at the long way-- I could see two people ahead, but that looked miles away.
"If only I could fly..."
I played with the corners of the cloak. It was just a simple leather thing, probably poorly made which was why it was discarded. I felt a breeze start to blow--- and lifting me up into the air!
"Holy--!"
I glided like that for several years, then touched down gently on the ground.
"Is this possible? Wait... this is a video game. Anything is possible."
I started running, and I felt the breeze rise again. It lifted me up, and after several glides, I was fast approaching the two other players.
I landed a few meters away from them, and I looked up at the huge ice-wall that blocked the way. On the other side-- a shining mirror, glistening like the heart of a glacier. I studied the wall-- lots of crevacics, and jutting ice crystals. With a bound and a jump, I glided about halfway up-- landing on the wall, I started to climb.
