Personality: Karin is a bit of a loner. After what happened with her family in the past, she has stopped trying to form bonds with people. She is never very talkative, content to sit and ponder the meaning behind other’s words, should she be involved with others. When she does talk, it may not be kind, nor callous, but well informed. On the battlefield, she never loses this calm demeanor, not responding to the taunts or anger of her opponent. When away from her home, she rarely responds to the few catcalls she occasionally gets. Not that that is a result of her not forming bonds. It’s just that no one has yet to spark her interest. When she isn’t doing anything, she likes to curl up on her bed and read. Fiction, non-fiction, anything.
Loves: Water, reading, walking around.
Likes: Quiet places, her bed, sleeping.
Hates: Weakness, annoyances, her family.
Greatest Fear: Death by dehydration. She has seen it too many times to not fear it.
Weapon: Polearm
Kinesis (If Applicable): Urerekinesis- Draining the water molecules out of objects to dry them up, and, if used long enough, death.
Kinetic Limit (If Applicable): When Karin uses this, the water is absorbed by the user. Only capable of using so much, the excess water, if not cut off, immediately flows back into the target. Along with this, if not concentrating, the water of the user’s body can also flow out along with the overflow.
Skills: An expert in torture, able to draw information out of a body just as easily as she can draw out water.
Strengths: Incredibly flexible and swift, intelligent. Capable of withstanding great pain.
Weaknesses: Karin has incredible trust issues when it comes to the family. Envy and hatred are very good motivators to distrust others. While she won’t disobey a direct order, she will never cover another’s back of her own free will. Well, not of the family anyways.
History: Karin was born as the second daughter to Dardanos and Eris, the younger sister of Gwyneira. However, she would not be getting to know them very well. At the mere age of two, her Kotic developed rather swiftly. She had been playing in a garden, in a rare moment of freedom, when she happened upon a pretty flower. When she went to pick it however, it turned to dust in mere moments. So she picked another. And another. Soon, almost half of the garden had been turned to dust. At that, she started to cry. When her parents came to check on her, they discovered the missing garden with Karin sitting down and crying, surrounded by dust. Unsure if this was a Kotic, because of the early age, they called the employees in charge of Kotics, and they had her tested. At the age of two, she had developed urerekinesis. This Kotic was noticed by those in charge of forcing information out of the unwilling, a.k.a. torture, as a very effective tool. Death by dehydration could be a terrible thing. So, with approval from Lord Montague, Karin was swept away from her parents and sister, rarely ever seeing them again. And those who had taken her were far from parental. Not that very many, if any, of the parents were loving or affectionate.
From that point on, Karin had a different method of learning. While she still studied her basic classes, she also had a course in Torture 101. She began to learn the weaknesses of the body, which point would hurt most where, what would be the most effective way of draining victims of the water, and other such fun things. When she became old enough, she also began weapon training. She became skilled with a polearm, relatively quickly. By that point, she had come to accept that the coldness and disapproval of her ‘parents’ as they came to call themselves, the natural order of things. That was just how children were raised. However, her way of thinking soon changed.
For some reason or another, she was going out of the Sanctuary of the Montague, into the Central Sector. And what she saw stunned her. Parents playing with their children. Having fun with their offspring. When she saw that, the questions began. And with that, a small spark of hatred soon grew inside of her. Hatred at the parents of the Montague family. Why couldn’t her parents be like that? Why did it have to happen that way? Why couldn’t she have a fun childhood? All of those questions flared the hatred, until the chances of it ever leaving her vanished. She even began to feel hatred towards her cousins, even her sister. Surely, they had to have had a somewhat fun childhood. They had probably been praised enough to make them happy. So, even against every shred of evidence telling her otherwise, she grew to hate her family.
