Also, CG is now being utilized by a lot of mangaka and their staff. Usually, it's the mangaka that draws the subject of the window and then the staff does the background. With CG, you get the "perfect" background which is free of stray marks or crooked lines. Actually, you can use a photo and then turn it into line art using Photoshop! I'll be tackling this on another post here in the guild. If the line art background is not enough, you can modify it to look like how you want it. This technique is obvious in the Gantz manga. You can even see real people in the background which were just darkened via line art. There is also a program used in creating manga. From the layout to toning. It's all there. You can find more info about COMICWORKS at this site: http://www.deleter.jp/eng/cw_english/

I HAVE COMICWORKS! Comicworks is an awesome program. But it takes a while to get used to. Comicworks, is cheaper than 240 Deleter screentones by $341.50! I recommend artist to use this program, and save your pocket money!

It is easier to have a lightbox to trace your layouts. Then you can even trace directly with brush, the light makes it so clear.

Hey Guys i'm new to the guild but i have a Friend whos dead-set on Megatokyo, and he actually went onto the website and after abit of surfing he came across an email address, it was Fred Gallagher's. now he does something important for the Manga Strip like maybe Creater or something, and my mate emailed him, and Fred replyed back, now i'm not saying he will reply back to everyone but if you happen to go on there and find the email it would be good to post it here, and it would also be excellent to ask him for some tips because i'm sure he would have a few for you guys

sweatdrop Manga-ka artists are good at cheating. Not only do they have these little short cuts they have assistants to help them. Unlike me...I do everything on my own with Photoshop to help clear messes here and there.
