Miranda had hesitated only a moment until she mimicked Mariel's stance and moved after her as stealthily as she could, but being a bit bigger in size made the attempt at stealth a bit laughable. Still she tried and that is what mattered, small hands clutched at the brim of her hat as she followed after. Soon they were near the object in question and Miranda stared at it curiously the movement of water on surface distorted the object and made it hard to see what it was she looked at her friend curiously, "You foun'th it fir'th't," she pointed out after a small inner moral dilemma as to whether she should grab it first and it ended up being in favor of Mariel.

Valeri watched the woman nearby suddenly move about and set out sandwiches for the girls. He hummed a bit and went into a bag he had carted along and brought out two juice boxes and then slowly got up and limped a bit closer and offered the juice boxes over to her with one hand while his other hand held firmly onto his cane that he had picked up before moving closer. "Here, since it seems you're feeding my daughter, I should contribute," he said in a friendly tone, "I'm Valeri," the purple haired man introduced himself quietly, it seemed odd to address the other parent without a name for her to put to his face.

Mariel looked to Miranda for confirmation before nodding and deciding to go and grab whatever was in the water. She had to fish around a bit since whatever it was seemed to be light and oddly shaped. She finally managed to grab what it was in the water and tail twitching with excitement. She lifted her hands up out of the water with the shiny object cupped inside. As the water slowly drained from her hands the object....objects! Became clear. It was a pair of Hair Clips which were metal on the back and white on the other side. The clips were clipped on each other and so mariel had to pry them apart but managed to do so without too much trouble.

She was overjoyed that there were two clips and immediately handed one to Miranda. "You get to keep one cause its our treasure." mariel emphasized our cause she figured they both found it. Her bangs were getting in her face anyway and so she put the clip in her hair. She looked around and wondered where their next adventure would be. "What do ya think we should look for next?" Mariel asked ignoring her stomach starting to rumble, she half hoped that miranda would say lunch but she didnt want to ruin the fun.

Luna looked up and smiled at the strange haired man. "Tank ju, I'm Luna, don worry about dis, I always bring extra in da ope dat mariel makes friends." Luna spoke in a medium Spanish accent, she still hadnt quite mastered english but she knew that she was understandable at least. "Come sit if ju wish da girls will get 'ungry soon but we 'as to pretend we can not see dem or mariel gets mad." Luna smiled and laughed lightly, she knew mariels games well enough already but they were always amusing.

Miranda accepted her 'half' of the treasure and much like Mariel took a minute to figure out how to pry them apart and put it straight in her hair, just under her hat, with little or no concern toward microbial beings or bugs. It was in water and water was clean, right? Right. Besides it felt right, like concreting of their friendship together despite their differences in various aspects, other the commonness of having tails.

When asked what she wanted to look for next her own stomach gave a small audible rumble and her small hands went toward her own stomach with a small blush spreading across her chubby cheeks. Miranda looked up at Mariel with a small giggle, "Food'th," she said simply and began to make 'sneaking' motions toward out of the pool, because it seemed silly to have food in water. Sure fish and things eat in water but it seemed weirder in this setting plus she wasn't a fish!

Valeri gave a small laugh and nodded, "They seem to be getting along famously," he didn't seem to have much issue figuring out what the woman was saying. Perhaps he should get contacts from her so whenever Miranda wished they could visit Mariel, "Got ya," he said in response to pretending to not see the girls as they began to sneak toward them he limped off to gather his and Miranda's things and move them over one by one until they were closer to Mariel and her mother's 'camp out' spot effectively combining the two before he settled down rubbing his leg with a small sigh, "I'm Valeri by the way, my daughter is Miranda," he couldn't recall if the woman knew or not.

Oh well.

Mariel smiled and was glad that Miranda was hungry as well but she didnt want the game to end so quickly. She looked around trying to see if there was anything quick that they could do first or if anything else interesting could be found when she caught the glint of the tin foil. She looked towards it and a huge smile tok over her face. "MIRANDA! I FOUND MORE TREASURE!" She splashed noisily as she hurried to catch up to Miranda to wrapped up in her excitement to remember to be sneaky. But once she reached the little mouse girl she pointed at the tin foil sandwiches. "Look look, we gotta be sneaky and we can go get the treasure on the towel and we can eat it ALL by ourselves!" Mariel was still usually only able to eat half a sandwitch because she was so young but if they managed to sneak up and take the sandwitches and maybe a juice box or something they could try and finish the WHOLE THING like grownups did! Mariel smiled and looked around for a bit she knew what she wanted to do but she wasnt sur3 exactly where to exit the pool....

Luna smiled as the man moved his towels and things over until they had one large "camp" for the kids instead of two separate ones. He was right the two girls seemed to be getting along really well which was nice, Luna always wanted Mariel to have lots of friends. So Miranda was the name of Mariels little friend, Luna smiled, she was a cute little girl who reminded her of a cousin she had. Luna smiled at the man but before she could say anything she saw mariel splashing towards Miranda and motion towards the foil wrapped sandwitches. "I'm glad to meet ju Valeri, don look now but ze children are planning anoder adventure. Ah to be lettle again." She sighed happily and motioned towards the girls wishing she was as young as they were. Oh how much fun she used to have wandering around as a child.

Miranda started a bit at the sudden exclamation but she soon saw the glint to and gave a small happy keen. More treasure! She nodded enthusiastically at her friend. Yes, they would need to use all of their sneaking skill. Miranda stood a moment and watched around herself before she reached out to pat her friend on the shoulder, "Look! th'tairs!" the rat girl pointed toward the small step-like shape that seemed to wriggle a bit under the water already she was heading toward every now and again she glanced back at Mariel. One step, two step, and she was out of the water and dripping onto the tile-and-pavement mix that lined the pool area. She was waiting for her friend to join her so they could continue on their 'adventure'.

"Glad to meet you too, miss," he smiled amiably and then risked but a small glance toward the girls mostly to make sure they were still alright, especially at his daughter. It would almost time to reapply the sun block again. He turned his gaze back toward Luna before it could be noticed by either girl that he had briefly watched them in the first place. "To be little again would be nice so long as I didn't have to go through the messy part of growing up I suppose," he rubbed the side of his neck and shrugged as he pointedly didn't look at the girls now. "That's the problem with being little; you grow up most of the time."

Mariel nodded at Mirandas idea of using the stairs and she nimbly followed her white friend until they were both out of the water. Once there Mariel had to resist the temptation of shaking all the water out of her fur, she really wanted to and her tail swished in agitation behind her but she resisted! "okay 'member we gotta be sneaky" Mariel said in a hushed tone to Miranda as she began to tiptoe in an arc towards the grown ups and the foil wrapped sandwitches. She kept looking behind her to make sure Miranda was following and giving her a reasuring smile, they were getting closer and closer and the grown ups hadnt even NOTICED! This was going to be the best (and most delicious) adventure yet!

Mariel began to wonder about how they would take the sandwitches once they were there, of course they couldnt eat the sandwitches right there, it would ruin the surprise, foil made too much noise. They would have to move a little way off and sit in the grass to eat, yeah that was it, they would take their treasure to the grass and then eat it ALL. She smiled in anticipation of the most delicious trasure of all, lunch.

Luna laughed softly as valeri mentioned the messy part of growing up. "Si you are correct about dat, growing up is de 'ard part, but eet can be nice some times." Luna turned her head so that the girls would be in her peripheral vision to check on them herself, she knew Mariel could get lost so easily with that curious and adventurous mind of hers. Once she had made sure the girls were being pulled in by the lure of the sandwiches she looked away again and smiled. "So 'ow did ju come to get jur leetle girl? I see she is just like Mariel but different color." After Luna had adopted mariel she had grown curious about the company called D-Corp and had not been able to find much out about it so she was rather curious about other "parents" like her and how the company might have found them.

Miranda had waited and once Mariel was out she nodded at her words and began to move after her fellow adventurer toward the foodstuffs that was awaiting them a little farther away. She worked hard to hold back a giggle especially when she noted that her Papi and Mariel's parent hadn't noted their presence at all and grinned lightly back at her friend to let her know that she was perfectly alright as she tried to do her best sneaking attempt. Miranda had paused next to Mariel for a long moment before she finally seemed to just go on her hands and knees and crawl toward the tinfoil covered treats and hovered her hand over one and waited to see if she was noticed and when it seemed that she wasn't she snagged one along with a juice box and then waited for a moment as if staying still would help her blend in perfectly.

He nodded a bit at Luna's words, "True, that is indeed very true." Valeri continued to 'not notice' his daughter and Mariel as they went for the sandwiches and drinks. Val laughed a bit at Luna's question and rubbed the side of his neck before he replied, "They lured me in and then set her on me. When they informed me that I was pretty much going to care for her. I couldn't say no to her or them," he shrugged a bit and smiled. "I was a bit miffed at first but now I'm thankful. How about you? How did they spring Mariel on you?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 14, 2009 2:14 pm

Mariel followed Miranda and was just as excited to have gotten this far and not be seen. She gave a huge smile to Miranda as she watched Miranda grab one of the sandwitches, she was glad that it had worked so perfectly. Whenit came her turn she slowly pulled away a sandwitch and a juice box as well. She then slowly creeped back her tail twitching in anticipation. She got back towards where Miranda was and motioned towards the grassy spot a little way away. She then began to sneak over with her hands full of the new found treasure. The closer she got to the grassy spot the harder it was to hold back her excitement and laughter.

Once she reached the grassy spot she sat down and took one last look around to make sure she was far enough away before she started laughing uncontrolably. They had done it and it had been PERFECT!! "Yeah we did it!" she laughed and ripped open a sandwitch to take a bite.

Luna coughed back a laugh as Mariel and Miranda snuk away with the food because she happened to see the self satisfied looks on the girls faces. Valeri seemed happy enough with Miranda even if Luna thought it was a funny story. She couldnt imagine that cute little rat girl being "sicked" on anyone. Heck she looked like she might cuddle a wolverine until it bowed down to her cuteness. Luna half hoped that Mariel woould get a few more girly qualities from friends like that but thinking back on what the kids were doing maybe mariel was more contagious in her adventuring ways then cute little girls were.

"Well for me, I was searching for a child to adopt." Luna held up her left hand "I no married, haha but I wan keeds. A big house no matter if all you has is dogs. D-Corp found me and tol' me to take Mariel so I did." Luna smiled, she was very happy with her new little girl, it was almost everything she could ask for, now she just needed to win the lottery and be able to live at home forever to take the cake. "I happy wit Mariel, she's my leetle baby now. But I always wonder about dis D-Corp place, I can not find tings about it, maybe it best people take da keeds from dem." She had her dbouts as to what exactly the company was doing with children and secretly suspected some kind of slave trade going on, which always made her happy that she had Mariel and could keep her safe.

She had followed Mariel all the way to the grassy spot while she contained a good portion of the glee she felt until she got there and settled next to the darker girl with a bit of a squeal as she unwrapped her sandwich and began to chew on the tasty morsel. She took a brief moment, with the sandwich hanging from her mouth, to clumsily poke her straw into her juice box so she could enjoy the contents of that as well while they ate, "We did!" she chimed back at Mariel. Miranda's own tail was coiled slightly around and over her legs and rested on her lap. "We th'ould do thi'th again one day," Miranda said contently between bites.

Val nodded as Luna explained her experiences with D-Corp, "Ahh I wasn't counting on ever having a child adopted or otherwise. Then again I wasn't counting on having a girlfriend either and it seems I have one of those now as well," the purple haired man laughed and shrugged. Despite not expecting either event he seemed happy with his lot in life for now. "I love Miranda to bits. She is a very sweet girl. I haven't really bothered to look into D-Corp myself. They seem alright for the most part, I just find their ways of adopting out kids a little ... unorthodox I guess. Every place has their quirk..."

Mariel nodded as she gobbled up her sandwich, she hadn't started in on her juice box yet, she liked to compartmentalize her meals for some strange reason. But about half way through her meal she decided that the juice box could be brought in. She put her sandwich down and took her straw to poke a hole in the box.

"Yeah, your a good adventure partner." Mariel nodded at Mirandas suggestion of going on more adventures. She liked the little mouse girl and knew that if they ever got together again it would be a fun time. She took a long sip from her box and made a satisfied sound before continuing to speak. "You should come to my house, I have an island!" Mariel said enthusiastically. She was intending to bother Luna to help her build a clubhouse either on the island or the shore. They had a huge back yard, probably close to an acre and that was only the fenced off part of it. Luna owned alot of land that she had inherited and mariel ALWAYS enjoyed exploring it and was starting to come to the boundaries to peek over the fence. Luna had said that she couldnt go beyond the fence untill she got a dragon which was another reason she was impatient for it, but maybe she could go across the fence if she had friends with her.

She gave Miranda a smile "Well we cant swim, but he could build sand castles!" Mariel was already getting ahead of herself like all children do. She was planning a full day of frolicking in her backyard kingdom for the two of them as she munched.

"Mm!" Miranda replied cheerfully as she was complimented on her being a good adventure partner, "You i'th a good one too," she replied sincerely as she ate and drank her meal. The whole afternoon was a big one, at least for her, so she was making easy work of the meal. She listened to Mariel's offer and nodded enthusiastically, "I'd'th like that!" replied excitedly she'd have to get her Papi to agree, of course, but really that would be fairly easy! Papi usually agreed to take her anywhere she wanted to go and to go to a friend's house sounded like a fun adventure indeed! Miranda had never gone to a friend's home before; she usually just went to visit her cousins!

The idea of building a sandcastle was very appealing indeed, "I never done that before'th," Miranda breathed out all wide eyed in excitement her last bits of sandwich mostly forgotten as she tried to picture a castle made of sand! She had only seen sand in the sandboxes at parks but it had never really occurred to make an actual castle with it so the thought that it was possible was ... Amazing.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 13, 2009 6:42 pm

Mariel was excited at the prospect of teaching Miranda to do something new, especially when it was something she liked to do herself. "Sand castles are fun, you just need a cool bucket." Mariel smiled and started into her juice box. She had a funny looking bucket back at home that had squares in the bottom so that shen she filled it with sand and turned it over the top looked like a castle tower. She loved that bucket.

Mariel finished off her juice box and looked over at the adults. "Come on lets surprise our papis so they dont get worried about where we are." Mariel smiled, the adults were so clueless! They probably didnt even know that she and Miranda were right there so close to them, oh it felt so good to have a successful adventure. But of course if they ever DID get a clue they might get ll worried and unk and that was always unnessesary. She finished off her sandwitch and waited for Miranda to finish her food as well, she didnt want to rush but when they finished they would take both adults by surprise and it will be awesome.

Luna nodded at Valeri, she had to suppose he was right about each place having its quirks but she was still happy that the kids were in good hands now. She chanced a quick glimpse behind her to make sure the girls were still alright and let the ghost of a smile appear before feigning indifference in case the girls every looked. "What do you think they talk about? When I was a keed all I wanted to do was play and der dey are just sitting and eating. My moder wishes i was dat calm as a child."

"I don't ha'th a cool bucket, I can borrow your'th ye'th?" Miranda asked as she finished her meal and began to get up after she collected her trash to give to her own Papi to throw away while she nodded at Mariel, "Ye'th! They'll be th'uper th'uh'pri'th'ed." She was excited to surprise her guardian and hers and she was also excited about the prospect about going to a friend's house and to play with these 'cool buckets' that was talked about since she'd never seen one before! Yay cool buckets! Once Mariel seemed ready she began to 'creep' forward toward the parental units as sneakily as she could.

The purple haired man smiled a bit as he took a moment to turn a bit more to where he wouldn't possibly 'see' the girls as soon as he noticed the pair moving toward him. He made sure the move was very coincidental simply gazing off to the distance as he answered Luna thoughtfully, "Well they spent a good deal playing in the little pool it is time to rest and regain energy so they can give us more gray hair," he laughed lightly and shrugged, "they're probably talking about whatever little girls talk about..." Valeri was never a little girl so he couldn't quite hazard a guess.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 28, 2009 4:15 pm

Mariel smiled "Yupyup you can borrow my bucket." Mariel nodded enthusiastically She had lots of fun sand toys so she had no qualms about lending them out. As long as Miranda wasn't planning on taking it anywhere but the island she could use whatever she wanted! Mariel was excited about surprising her mami, she didnt get to do it very often since she was still too little to properly have the right sneaky technique but when she was able to surprise her it was always a savored moment. Mariel followed Miranda's cue and began sneaking towards the parents looking for the right opportunity to pounce.

Luna smiled at Valeri's grey hair comment "Jes dey do like to gib us troubles, speaking ob wich..." Luna smiled as she noticed the girls creeping towards them, she did her best to look in the totally opposite direction and make no inclination that she had noticed but she couldnt stiffle a laugh quite soon enough and a small one came out. It was just so cute to see the two little girls sneaking up on the adults like trained predators. Just too cute.

"Yay! Buk'kit~," she had said in a sing-song tone before they went Guardian-Stalking. Miranda slunk closer and closer to the parental units with a barely contained giggle. This was too much fun! She liked playing with Mariel. She hoped they'd remain friends for a good, good while if not forever. She shoved the thought aside for a now as she crept closer and then paused a moment before she 'sprung' at Valeri. She had run-and-stumbled forward to Valeri with a boisterous 'RAHHH~!' and a small giggle.

The man laughed and nodded a bit and was about to make a response when he was suddenly 'attacked' he feigned shock and fright with a yelp and a small outcry, "Oh no! She got me! Help~!" He couldn't help but chuckle as the rat-girl hugged him about the side of his torso since he had been sitting upon the ground as he spoke with Luna.

Miranda wasn't going to claim victory until she was certain that her friend had also 'attacked' her parent.
