"They are?" He asked now sitting next to the other cub. Watching the big gray things below. Father away, bigger gray things were watching over the smaller ones. Though, Pembe didn't see them. He only saw what looked to him, as adults. "We do?" he was trying to listen to everything but he was getting distracted at watching them play.
He looked towards the other "They..... they won't step on us well they?" he asked him. They look liked they'd kill him if they stepped on him. They looked very heavy, and he didn't like that.

Mashaka looked down, he knew the adults wouldn't be fair off.... but he had played this game before with the elephants, and as long as the cubs didn't bite at the babies they often didn't come, in all honesty they had kinda gotten use to Mashaka and his siblings.
"Uh step on you? Hurt... eh. Well I don't think you would get stepped on... just don't go under their feet. I have never been stepped on." he looked at the cub some what worried he was going to back out. "It will be ok" he said with a smile.

Pembe wasn't sure about this. He saw them. They were huge, they looked like if they stepped on his tail his tail would then vanish from being squished so much. Though, he didn't want to look like a drag. "Well... I guess... I guess we can" He said with a nod trying to convince himself he'll be just fine. He looked at the other with a smile. Almost fake and nervous like "Lets.... go shall we?" He said with a gulp at the end of it. He didn't want to do this, but if it meant he was going to gain a friend, it was worth it right?

Mashaka could sense the other was uneasy he actually began to kind of feel bad. "Well Pembe.... if you really don't want to go... we can head back." Mashaka knew time was getting late, and the further into the day he found the more likely the adults were going to be a little more irritable about them irritating and startling their young.
"We can head home now its ok..... we can play with the elephants another time." Mashaka really wasn't interested in bugging the elephants anymore any ways. He told himself this because he didn't want to believe he had a soft spot for anyone... he was tough and harsh!

"No.... No we can do it now." he didn't want to be called a chicken the next time they would meet up. "You, you just go first so I know what to do" he said with a sway of a smile upon his face. He was thinking that this couldn't be too bad, right? Nothing would happen bad. The other had done it many times. He smiled at the other sure that everything was ok now.

Mashaka flicked his ears, he wasn't really in the mood play with the elephants. He knew the adult would be coming to collect them soon, and as much as he wasn't afraid of the babies the adults could definitely do some harm.
He turned his head, "I uh think I hear my father calling me." he lied. He didn't want to seem like a coward but getting himself injured wasn't high on his priority list either. "We should meet up and do this again soon... earlier in the day would be better.... later in the day my family starts to wonder where I am, and I don't want to have to listen to that when I get home."

Pembe didn't see any lies in his words. He shrugged, yet was rather relieved he didn't have to try and get himself killed this time. He gave the other a smile. "Another day then" He said as he started to walk the way they had come. He wanted to let out a sigh of relief but it didn't come. He didn't want the other to think he was happy they weren't going to do that.

Mashaka marched beside the other cub, "Yes another day I will find you. We will have a lot of fun." he smiled, he would find this cub when he knew of the trouble he could cause.
For the rest of the walk to where the two cubs had to slit ways Mashaka said nothing, when the time came to split though Mashaka looked at the other cubs and gave him a quick nod, "Bye Pembe. I hope we see each other again soon."
