Fuzzy_Mc_cuddlz Cream robbed Robert Johnson for what he's worth, so you can't just blame Page. But Cream credited him for it. wink

Satan On The Beach I never said they sold out. And I never said he wasn't talented. I said he wasn't as talented as a lot of people think he is. John Paul Jones was a far more talented musician, and he never got any credit. This is what you said: "Jimmy Page isn't that talented." It's the same in my book. And true, JPJ was very talented, still is, but he chose to be the back up. Of course he wouldn't get as much credit.

It happens that around these parts SAbbath is so amazingly overplayed, it drives me insane. I still like them (Though I do Dio more simply for the sake of novelty) but Zep is less overplayed. Well... where I live anyway
Edit: Frank Zappa owns them both anyway so...

Fuzzy_Mc_cuddlz Satan On The Beach Fuzzy_Mc_cuddlz Pizza and Satan are now on my death list. evil You don't have to love Zep, you don't even have to like 'em. But when you call them "over-rated" and esspecaily when you call Jimmy Page "Not that talented" That when I get mad. stressed But they are overrated. And Jimmy Page stole songs from blues musicians. That isn't cool. So did a lot people. Cream robbed Robert Johnson for what he's worth, so you can't just blame Page. And he is talented. You can call Zep sell outs all you want, but that won't make them a bad band or Page "untalented". You don't understand the concept of stealing songs, apparently. Cream credited Robert Johnson and had it listed as a cover, whereas Led Zeppelin claimed the songs were their own work and didn't give credit, in the process STEALING ROYALTIES from the musicians whose songs they covered. They also tended to throw several blues songs together into one song at times (combine pieces of lyrics, music, etc.), and also gave themselves arrangement credit for royalties when they really didn't change the songs at all. This all = bad. The reason for most people that don't think Page is that talented is because of how sloppy he was live...

1. spell Led Zeppelin correctly in the name, its not hard.
2. in my opinion two totally different sounds that of which cannot be compared to the other hence Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath both stay gold in my books.

Harvested Sorrow The reason for most people that don't think Page is that talented is because of how sloppy he was live... dont think it had anything to do with being cracked out on heroin? the sloppy made a unique and interesting sound, lets not forget that this was the hippy era and most of the crowd for the early days was probably on acid which i can vouch for, makes anything sound good.

He's STILL known for being sloppy live in recent years, even though he claims to have quit that s**t, so that's not an excuse. 2. It's his fault for being ******** stupid enough to go out on stage when he was ******** up on heroin. (using drugs is in itself stupid, but when you're being unprofessional enough to go out on stage drugged up to the point where you can't play it's just wrong) That does NOT justify how sloppy he was. That makes it worse, if anything. 3. No, it didn't, it made the effect of "Holy ********! This guy can't even play the goddamn songs HE wrote!" and you know...when most of the crowd are stoned or on acid, and they're STILL wondering why the ******** he can't play the songs right, it should tell you something about how exactly how sloppy he was. Not to mention, having an audience that's on drugs doesn't justify being too lazy to learn the songs you're supposed to be playing.

The Pizza Guy Sabbath.
Much darker, cooler sound. And unlike Zeppelin, they didn't just rip off blues.
And Led Zeppelin is possibly the most overrated classic rock ever. mad ripp off blues? they where both blues rock bands in the beginning.... and thats just led zeppelins style. then again they played just about every style. I would have to go with led zeppelin, this is because they played many styles from funk, to blues, to rock, to country, and many more. Drumms - i think john bodam is a great drummer. so is ward, but john bodam takes the cake Guitar - I think these guitarists are both GREAT. but of course jimi page bass - geezer butler all the way. The guys great such a bluesy and defining bassists, one of my heros. although john paul jones was revolutionary as well. singer - i think ozzy is mono tone. He doesnt have much range at all. Now plant on the other hand........ such a great singer, its plant
