--=-- --=--James T. Kirk---=--- --=-- Kirk nodded to the helmsmen, “Thank you Mr Sulu,” he said sounding slightly bored. The sitting and waiting game weren’t his favorite part, well, damn, he just started and his first mission was to retrieve data.
He knew why they couldn’t send another ship. The Enterprise was the fastest in the fleet, and also the only one that hadn’t acquired substantial damage. They were down in numbers after their ‘rescue’ attempt on Vulcan. Jim flinched at the remembrance. It hadn’t affected him as badly as his first officer, but after that mind meld…He felt the emotions, the pain, everything. It was as if he had lost everything.
Clearing his throat, he gazed up towards Spock when he approached. HE was thinking it was for small chit chat. Then again, Vulcans weren’t known for small talkers, it was just the suggestions of keeping mission matters to the senior officers and that a speech was needed.
Speech? That unsettled his insides out. He would have asked Spock for a suggestion but his first officer left and headed towards Uhura.
“sly dog..” he muttered underneath his breath. Kirk could have sworn Spock’s ears twitched, as if he had heard his remark. Paranoid. Taking a deep breath, his finger hovered over the intercom for the entire ship.
But as luck would have it, a yelp from someone on the bridge caught his attention. Distraction. He was about to give a stern few words, about not damaging the ship when he saw who it was.
“Are you all right?” His voice had that friendly tone he used to charm every woman into bed with. Jim smiled, turning in his chair to look her way.

"Aw Poop.." She thought to herself when she heard the captain call her way. "Yes Captain, Everything is fine. Just testing out the good o'l equipments here.." she said tapping the control panel lightly. She swiveled her chair around crossing her legs, like she usually does. She was expecting some old horn dog fart to be the captain. Boy was she wrong. As soon as her gaze met his, her heart felt like it fell out of her a** and she couldn't help but blush a bit. Her thoughts flew elsewhere, she couldn't even conjure up a sentence. "Yeah.." she said nodding her head and swiveling her chair around quickly. "Oh my god.." she thought to herself scrunching up her face like she just saw a nice pair of shoes at a store, but this was better. You cant kiss shoes.. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

Leonard McCoy McCoy sent the interns towards the computer console, to educate themselves in the proper conduct of Starfleet regulations in the sickbay. That meant, they were not, at any time, to wear dangling bracelets, or clown make up. “Dear God, don’t you even know what it’ll do?!” he snapped at one of them, then he added, “There you are, taking care of a patient in a delicate surgery when your make up runs down into a goddamn open wound therefore compromising the entire procedure!” He received the looks but they nodded in understanding his methods. This is why he was divorced, he concluded. Moving away from them, he approached Chapel, eyeing her work. “At least I have one good nurse.” Hell, it wouldn’t be long until he promoted her to head nurse, considering his current one was nowhere in sight. “Fairing well? Far from it.” He gave a disgusted look at the interns. Leaving Chapel to her work, he headed to his work station in the back, and quickly went to daily chore of his log. “…damn…physicals every three months?” his eyes widen. It would take weeks to give physicals to every crewmember, and that wasn’t calculating missions, difficult patients and recalibrating the medical scanners to adopt to the different bodily functions of other species. All I have left is my bones..

-S-p-O-c-K- Spock straighten his posture, folding both hands now behind his back. He had found that stares were drifting their way and he did not want to implant a wrongful image in their minds. He was, after all on duty. Professionalism should come first. He strived for it.
“Excellent, Lieutenant, thank you…” his gaze turned towards whom Uhura was referring too. He had heard the yelp but thought nothing of it. It had, of course been a mishap on the part of the blonde, not the computer malfunctioning.
His attention returned to Uhura, and he felt his blood boil slightly more than usual. The tips of his ears appeared a darker shade of green. Turning from her, he went towards Janice, seeing as it was his duty to check in on things while as the Captain was proving to be a flirt.
He shot Jim a glance, that softly said, ‘professionalism is key’. Spock beat the Captain in the sense of talking after Janice.
The half-vulcan eyed Rand with a piercing gaze that might have come off as unfriendly. “Name, rank and current status.” He inquired.

"Oh, Doctor, no need to flatter me." She hid the smile on her face and squeezed the hand of the man as she injected him with the hypospray. His face contorted as he took a deep breath. "There you go, you'll fall asleep in about.... now." She smiled as the man began to doze off. She patted him on the shoulder before slipping off her latex gloves and dropped them into the garbage canister.
She walked up behind McCoy and peeked at his log. "Yeah... I was going to inform you about that... Someone's gotta do all the work around here." She then heard a scream coming from the infirmery. "... McCoy... May I ask where you put the Silver Sulfadiazine...?"

"crap!" she thought to herself, her nerves were getting the worst of her but she tried not to show it. "First day and im already blowing it!" she thought to herself. "Janice Rand, Chief of Maintenance, Current status: Everything seems to be running according to plan." She flicked through the control panels pulling up the blueprint of the ship. "So far I have checked with all the departments on the Ship, and everything is in tip top shape!" she finished that last part in a chipery voice hoping it would make her look like she had everything in control. Well, She did. Everything was going great until she turned up that damn knob. Janice slowly looked up at the Vulcan flashing a smile hoping he wouldnt tear her eyes out or something. She looked down quickly since his face was blank. "I hate you.." she thought to herself eying that damn Knob. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

--=-- --=--James T. Kirk---=--- --=-- The Captain barely got his nod and lips parted to respond to the female when someone got to her first.
Damn, Spock beat him to the punch! And Kirk swore it had been on purpose. His first officer was already implementing his duties and making sure that the Captain followed a professional line of order. Hell, its not like he was going to start chasing skirt, he knew the rules about dating crewmen. It wasn’t forbidden but looked down upon by the higher ups. Also, Kirk wanted to a clean slat.
He didn’t want to damage the only good thing that has happened to him in a damn good while. So, settling in his chair, he watched Spock basically intimidate the poor woman
Though in the mean time, his attention shifted to Sulu. “Good…” he paused briefly for a moment, before standing up from his chair. Then he turned, heading for the turbolift. “Mr. Spock, you have the bridge.”
He had a mile of paper work to set up, better start now while he had time to spare. Kirk paused in his stride at Uhura’s station, “Inform me when we have arrived.” Not that she didn’t already know to do it. Just sounded more professional as he entered the lift, taking it down to level five.

-S-p-O-c-K- Spock nodded lightly as he heard the woman speak. His face was placid, as it normally was. He wasn't one to show his emotion, despite the fact his eyes were an open book, to those that observed him long enough. Spock, however did not give one the time to do thus. “Thank you for your…Next time, I would advise familiarizing myself with the controls.” It was not a complete reprimand too her. Just a little reminder for next time.
He glanced warily towards the Captain when the bridge was put in his control, already. Though he knew, and understood why. It was gratifying to know that the Captain was taking his duties seriously. A very different change from the brash man he had encountered. The first officer slowly moved from Janice and did a circuit around the bridge, checking to make sure that everyone was doing as they were told. He wanted to make sure that all was in order before the Captain’s return. After getting the rest of the status reports, he returned to his work station. It would be odd to sit in the chair again. Spock never wanted the command again, but he would not argue the fact of having it a brief period of time.
He swiveled lightly in his chair and began to survey the screen that was before him. Work never failed to make him feel as if he had a place. He could lose himself in his work. In making sure that every little detail was immaculate and perfect in every way, from every angle. He began to tap things on the touch screen and immersed himself in what he was doing.

Janice took a deep breath to calm her down. Even though she started off with a rocky start, She knew she could redeem herself later on. She glided her fingertips across the touch screen bringing up Security footage of different places of the ship. This was installed so she could see what everyone was doing; To make sure people where doing their job. It made her feel like an Eagle eye, and she didn't like it. "Oh well.." she said while hitting the arrow button that brought up the next feed. Her eyes squinted to someone in the engineer room. A red shirt, He was just sitting there playing with some sort of her device. "...Oh come on.. at least make sure you're not in front of a camera when you do that..." With flick of his switch she connected to his frequency. She saw how the red shirt fumbled for his communicator. "He-Hello?" the red shirt said looking around. "Hi.." she said it a pleasing voice trying not to laugh. "So, What level are you on?" she asked biting her lip and watching the red shirt look around frantically. "My name is Janice Rand, Im in charge of making sure everyone is doing what they're supposed to..And According to my live surveillance screen, It looks like you're goofing off..." She changed the tone of her voice to a more soft tone. She didn't want to give off the bitchy Egotistical eye in the sky. Janice looked around to see if anyone was close. "Well, Dont worry, its your first time. Just make sure you dont do it again.." She whispered while leaning into the screen more. She flipped off the frequency and continued checking out the other live feeds. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

Things were finally looking up, hours have passed and no other complications emerged. "OK, Perfect.." she said hanging up on another call. She took her earpiece off and leaned back in her chair letting out a sigh of relief. She finally did it, She finally graduated Starfleet, and not just that.. But she was put on the Enterprise. Many people would kill for her spot. So she felt extremely grateful for it and was not going to screw it up. She decided to look around, Ever since she walked into the bridge she only kept her gaze on her control panel. Turning around slowly she observed the people around her working. Everyone was so point on and confident. Hopefully she'd make at least one friend on board. Theres nothing worse than not talking to anyone on board to her, Especially since she was so social. "Ok Janice, Next person to talk to you, talk back and try to make a friend.." she said to herself. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

-S-p-O-c-K- Spock glanced up, pausing from his busy work when the voice of Sulu and Uhura caught his attention. It was not that they were conversing that troubled but the fact that Sulu asked Uhura on…well, he concluded it to be a date. Not a social gathering of friends.
He did not know why, but anger started to boil. Clearing his throat, he turned in his chair to eye Sulu. “Lieutenant Sulu,” his tone seemed laced with malice and yet his features gave away nothing. Calm and perfectly composed on the outside, while the inside was an entirely different story.
“I would advise you to separate work from pleasure. Do not bring both.” His gaze pierced towards the helmsmen in a deadly manner, as if being unprofessional in the work place was what was bother him. The half-Vulcan turned back to his console, keeping his mind and fingers distracted.
“As you were.” He shot over his shoulder, and not just to Sulu but the rest of the bridge. Already, Spock was feeling compromised. Not a good sign. Closing his eyes for a brief time, he thought to control his raging emotions.
It did not work. “Lieutenant Sulu, you have the bridge. The captain is in need of my services.” A lie. Full blunt lie. Leaving his work station, he did not take the lift rather the door out into the hall. As he barely left, he could hear a few murmurs about his mental stability. Inclining his head to the side, as if reconsider his position to return back to the bridge. He decided not to.
Mediation was needed to fully compose himself. He should have done this before he entered the bridge but time had been short and he needed to establish himself as first officer. With that set in his mind, Spock walked along to his quarters.
