Western society is obsessed with youth. We don't cherish the aging process and the wisdom that it can bring. Along with age lying, people who aren't even 25 are already getting face lifts, botox injections, boob implants etc. We see old people as senile and ugly. In other parts of the world, the elderly are greatly respected.
