I remember him posting something somewhere at some point in time other than now. neutral If he wants to start his own thread, why the ******** not? This is a free guild, is it not? It's not very active, anyway, so what's the point in bitching about some random thread? The truly old school do know that "PYP" didn't used to be in the 'box. However, they should also know that there was a PYP in the 'box and this, being a PYP guild, accepted members from both threads as well as other places. neutral
In other news...I'm bored again. *wanders off*

lol wow this is turning into a fun little thread.
Kumaneko : I was Shadowlaw but then I turned two in Gaian time so I changed my name.
Nazgob: yeah the GD was infinately better than the chatterbox
Merc: I'm certainly not fightin in the old school versus new school bout. The "his very own thread" issue was mentioned by me because I am crew and we do try to keep the posts that could go in applicable stickies in those applicable stickies. Everyone opening new threads would just make things harder to follow and then activity would drop even more around here.
My original point however is still valid. Granted... now we have three people who remember him posting once or twice but no one seems to know the person. I only have two gripes here.
1 - as crew - this thread (although it has stirred some activity) belonged in member news.
2 - as me - it's really bad manners and sadly egocentric to wander into a room of folken and assume that everyone that people who you've had no meaningful interaction with care to be updated on you life.
That's all. If he's free to make such a post then I'm certainly free to comment on his presumptions. 3nodding

It's also really bad manners to wander into a thread of someone you don't know and, because you don't know him, assume that nobody else does, either. neutral And there are quite a few threads that could've just been posted in member news, but nothing was said about them. Rag's thread, for example. Or Aki's. I'm sure there are probably more, too, but I really don't feel like looking at the moment. Maybe later.

I didn't assume. I had 6 PM's asking if I knew who this person was cause now one else seemed to. So since no one else asked I figured I'd be the d**k.
As for the other threads, you're right. and if I recall correctly they got PM's. This thread just got my goat a little. I get annoyed by people who don't put in the time and effort to get to know people in a group but still presume that everyone should be interested in what them. So I commented on this one out in the open.

We'll just consider that sarcasm and move on.
So as not only a member of the crew, but vice captain of the guild, you decided that, since you didn't know him and he has such a diminutive post count, he didn't deserve the common courtesy shown to everyone else? surprised Don't you think it would've reflected better of you and your position if you would've sent him a PM asking who he was and/or directing him to the appropriate thread instead of making a fuss here just because you were "annoyed"?

It wasn't sarcasm.
And as not only a member of crew but the vice captain of the guild I decide nothing. Everything stated was my personal opinion. As for common courtesy... it doesn't exist in my dojo. Courtesy is not something anyone has a right to in my book. It's something one earns. Just like respect and trust. I don't give a crap about my position. This isn't a job I get paid for. There is no call for some hollow concept of professionalism.
I act as I wish to just like myself just like I'd expect anyone else to here. My position doesn't restrict me or empower me in any special way. As for annoyed. I'm not. I don't know why you people think that when I go on these rants I'm actually upset or something. He did something I thought was in poor taste. I responded. End of story.
