(( Heh, he eventually got there. xD ))
Her eyes were open now, staring up at him as he was attempting at saving her life. Wait, her life didn't need saving anymore. She was up now. Criofan all too happily went to part from her knowing she had air now, but before he could, he was tossed to the side and Erylia began gagging up what was probably the contents of her lungs. The woman didn't sound too happy, and this was the second time she had sounded absolutely pitiful to Criofan.
The first time where she had sounded this pitiful was when she started bawling as she admitted that she was in love with him. Hm, awkward...
...But that wasn't the point! The point was, she was okay, and that was a relief. At least he didn't have her death on his watch. "Should be a li'l more careful." That was an odd thing to hear coming from Criofan, but nevertheless, he offered a small grin. At least he was still concerned for her, despite the awkwardness between them.

She almost died. She could sound pitiful if she wanted to. The female slowly stood up, rubbing her head. "ugh...I feel like I battled with a washer and lost. Horribly." The female folded her legs as she squinted at Criofan. Greeaaatttt. "When did you learn mouth to mouth?" Yeah, she knew of it. Tartara thought it might be wise since she saw little kids by the waterside all the time.

Criofan frowned lightly, but before he could make a comment in the attempt to make the conversation not awkward, she had to bring up the 'mouth-to-mouth' thing. So there was an official term for that? Huh, guess he just got lucky and eventually guessed the right solution. "I didn't." He replied, honestly, with a blink. "Reasoned giving my air to you would be the best thing to keep you from dying all together."
Innocently, Criofan leaned back and tapped his fingers in the sands. Now what? He saved Erylia's life and had answered her question, but he wasn't totally sure what else to say. Sure, he wanted to be friendly, but ever since that day, it had been hard to talk to the blond demonic. He just wasn't sure how to approach their conversations. He started whistling a small tune, before deciding that was a bad idea and shutting his trap.

"Well...thanks." He had done mouth to mouth and he didn't even know what the heck he was doing? That was some bit of luck. "I guess I owe you one." She wished she could say something to make it better. To make everything better and how it once was. She wished...she wished a lot of things actually. "...I see you made out well today." The female nodded her head towards his watch before instantly wincing. Shouldn't move. Shouldn't move. EVER AGAIN.

Perhaps nothing could be said to ever fix what had happened between them. What was done was done... perhaps now it was time to try and forget it. That was Criofan's policy. He didn't want to deal with it; therefore, the situation was better left in the recesses of his mind where he could bury it and give it some kind of gravestone. At least she made some attempt at another topic. "Yeah," he offered, trying to speak quietly since she looked like she was having some kind of head pain. "Summer's a good time to snatch stuff, because people are more lax and less likely to notice."
Small talk, yippee. Now what was he going to say. "Uh, any reason why you ran into the water so fast?" That probably wasn't a good question. She was running from something, though, so Criofan couldn't help wondering what it was that had made Erylia so nervous; even when she broke out sobbing, she still seemed somewhat brave.

A sigh. Should have known that question would be popping up. "was running from small talk." Had she mentioned previously that she hated small talk? Never got anything accomplished. "Why were you on the beach?" What was this? The question game? Ugh, now she felt like she was five ontop of feeling frustrated and like a half-drowned rat.

"Ah." Yeah, he couldn't blame her on that one. Small talk sucked. And it felt awkward, kind of like how he felt now. Awkward. Very very awkward. Especially since she basically just pointed out how awkward their situation wa. He glanced down at his lap and pressed his fingers together, trying to find something to talk about that wasn't so awkward. ...And then she asked another question. He let out a small sigh of relief at an excuse to not look like an embarrassed teenager.
"It's a nice day, I've been lucky, and I thought I would celebrate by enjoying the beach... you?" At least that led right into another convenient question and he didn't have to wrack his brain for another one.

"seashell hunting." She responded quickly, rubbing her head still. She hated small talk, but she'd live with it. Better then nothing. "Its my sisters Niday and Dayhts birthday. I was planning on making a seashell necklace for Dayht." What happened to that basket anyway? Hopefully the tide didn't get to it yet.

"Oh. Sounds fun." Criofan replied, plainly. Actually, it really didn't sound fun at all. What was the point of making something that wouldn't benefit oneself, anyway? That was kind of like this conversation. It wasn't getting them anywhere. This was about as useful as asking about the fantastic weather they were having or asking why the currents seemed so strong today. It was incredibly useless, tedious, and a waste of time to keep this up, even if he wanted to be nice.
"So," offered Criofan, awkwardly, "you okay now?" If she said yes, maybe that would make the awkwardness go away forever.

"tartara threatened to eat my treasure room key if I didn't." The female winced, this time not from the physical pain, but from the threat of her caretaker. "But yeah, I'm okay now." The female flashed a bit of a smile, taking careful note about how criofan took such care about her. After all...he did...save her life. He didn't have to do that. he stood nothing to gain.

He really didn't. All he had gained was the rebeginning of these annoying, awkward conversations. At least she was okay now. Yeah, at least that was somewhat of a good thing. "That's good," Criofan offered, with a strained smile. That didn't make the awkwardness go away, but it did give him an excuse to escape because he knew that she would definitely be alright now.
"So... want me to leave you to get back to that oh-so-exciting seashell collecting?" He asked, with a cheesy grin. There was no doubt that he did indeed definitely want to leave at the moment, but he wouldn't quite yet.

She laughed softly, a sound akin to silver chimes in a spring breeze. "Its thrilling. You can go, if you want." That was what both of them wanted, right? End the awkward conversations, avoid what had happened at all costs. She was such a fool! Perhaps she should just go with one of the pae she had already charmed? It was at least stop Tartara's constant nagging. Slowly the female stood and instantly staggered. She rubbed the side of her head, trying not to wince. She had shown enough weakness infront of the male pae. "Thats the last time I try going head to head with a rock." she spoke dryly.

Oh good, she was fine. That meant he could leave now. The leprechaun nodded and bolted to his feet, almost a little too eager to get away from the current situation. His reaction probably wasn't the one she had wanted or had hoped for, as Criofan almost immediately began walking off after he had stood up, with nothing seeming to stop him once-so-ever.
Though her griping made him stop in his tracks and groan to himself. Look like he couldn't leave her alone forever yet. Damn it... "You shouldn't've stayed under the water that long in the first place," remarked the leprechaun, before sitting back down. Damn it, damn it, damn it. Criofan wanted to run away and stay away from her forever, and her dizziness certainly wasn't helping him.

"You want to avoid talking to me as much as I do with you Criofan." The female spoke softly, instantly going on the defensive at his poke on an already sensitive topic. "I'm fine. I'll just go to the healing place later and get myself looked at." Why did it have to be this way? She tried going on as they had before, but neither of them would forget the issue. And neither of them would confront it. She had just wanted Criofan to be by her side in life, because...well...she didn't know why exactly! But now she couldn't even have him as a friend by her side. Now, all she could have...was...was this. "The day is still only halfway over anyway. So you probably have some scheme to get back to." Or at least had a plan to stay away from her forever. Yes, she knew her childhood friend better then any other pae on the entire isle.

Well, at least the fact that they didn't want to talk anymore was on the table. And it was true. While Erylia was an old friend, Criofan did not want to confront the emotional situation at hand. In fact, being the type of man he was, he would prefer to never confront it and leave it to die. Since it kept getting vaguely brought up but never spoken of with Erylia, leaving it to die seemed to involve leaving her in the dust, too. "No, I don't, actually," Criofan shrugged. "I still want to run away from you, though. Run far, far away, and never look back."
The drama, the back and forth, the awkwardness... really, since their teenage years, Criofan had grown tired. Very tired. He just wanted it all to end, somehow, and go back to life how it should've been: fun, and without this constant nagging he had in his mind.
