"It was great! You should go for it. I mean, I can jump with you now, so you'll be fine, right?" He grinned at her, not looking winded despite having run back up to her. He had been eager after the jump to get right back up to her, to see if she had changed her mind or if she was still going to do it with him.
He didn't mind either way: whatever she was comfortable with, in the end.
"Unless you're really still scared. We can just walk back down if you want, but like I said, I think this'll be good for you." He grinned, padding over to the edge again and looking down at the water. There was no trace now of where he had jumped, the water no longer disturbed by his presence and restored to its natural movements.
Not that he expected anything different, but still.

"Well, I'm still pretty nervous, but you made it look so easy!" she giggled timidly. It seemed like a longer way down to her than it really was. She had him by her side, though, right? So if anything were to happen, he'd help? She sure hoped so. But she was going to do this... and do it today. With him.
"I think I'm as ready as I'm going to get." Kianga peered over the edge at the water. It seemed calm enough. It definitely wasn't something dangerous and she knew how to swim. Scooting her body closer to Lazarus, she glanced up at him. She waited for the 'okay' to jump in together.

Lazarus grinned. He nodded. "It's not that bad, I mean it!" He laughed jovially, nuzzling her reassuringly before they got close to taking the jump. He heard her say she was ready, or as close as she could be, so he led her back a few paces.
Looking at her, he nodded.
"Let's go!"
He ran, not too fast, letting her keep up with him and even take the lead. He kept his eyes on her, not wanting her to panic or feel like he abandoned her. He jumped when they ran out of ground, in pace with her, and plummeted down into the water with a big splash.
He laughed when he surfaced, getting some water in his mouth, but not minding.
"Kianga?"

"Okay..." she whispered in an unsure tone. Kianga followed him in a sprint, but there was no way she'd want to take the lead. Behind him or beside him, sure, but not in front. She didn't have the guts to jump into the situation that fast.
When the earth came to a stop, she took a gulp and took a gasp for air. Here it was! She made a splash into the water and sunk in. Panicking slightly this time, she swam up hurriedly and took in another gulp of air and choked a bit. Water got up her nose and, well... you know how that is. Catching her breath, she looked for Lazarus. He seemed to have had a grand 'ol time! Admitting to herself, she thought it was quite fun. It was kind of an adrenaline rush for her. It was scary, yet exciting.
"I'm right here!"

He grinned at her, swimming over with all four feet kicking. He helped her to the bank and got out, shaking off his fur. All smiles and laughs, he bounded around her, barking excitedly.
"See? That was fun! And you did it! Very brave! I knew you could do it, no problem."
He bounced up and nuzzled her affectionately, meaning to congratulate her.
In his book, it had been a very good day, and he was eager to see what trouble they could get into together again. He wasn't used to feeling that way, but he found he certainly didn't mind it. Wagging his tail, he looked at her, glad to have been able to share that experience with her.

Smiling as he helped her, she climbed out of the water and shook off as well.
"Man, what a day!" she beamed with a half laugh.
Her day got even better when she got a nuzzle from Lazarus. It made her get butterflies in her stomach. They were butterflies that were bouncing off even the pit of her stomach and almost made her laugh some more. This Lazarus character always made her feel this way and she didn't want this feeling to go away. Therefore, it was only right to keep seeing him.
"Well thank you, sweetie!" Once again, there was a grin upon her face. It was something that would have to be cut off because it wasn't coming off itself! She was now a sucker for him. Falling for him, you could say. She just wasn't ready to admit that to herself... or him.
Giving him a nudge, with a twinkle in her eye, she told him it was probably best to be on her way home. She didn't want to spoil the moment, plus her bonkers mother would probably start looking for her or something.
"I suppose I should get going. My pack needs me home."
