Hanyu shrugged and grinned. "Like said, I don't know much. Bro's seer powers are boring. By the time he gets done talking, everything has already happened." He yawned and stretched. Another inch closer. No rejection yet! Not that he would have cared. There was a ton of hours in the day.

Tayhira stopped to listen when Amira asked the question. She could hear nothing over the chattering. It was very aggravating.

Knowledge caused her to worry and want to tell them to shut up; hope of safety caused her to settle her head onto her paws and assume that Uzulu's enclosure was extremely secure.

"You saw him, right? Is he as big and ferocious as they say?" He looked back behind him, a bit of worry set over his brow. He could take the old bugger. How much harm could a beaten lion do anyway?

"And I heard he had a slave with him. Was she cute? I mean, she's okay too, right?"

Hanyu could probably cover up all the noises all by himself. Uzulu used the time to ask, "Are you really?" The scowl was evident on his face. Yellow had been a slightly scorned color in the traditionalist realm.

Not unheard of, but it was assumed to be a weaker blood. "Did your rebel leader send you out to try to recover those of us who stayed true to Finarsi?" The acid was clear in his voice. As much as he wanted out, there were some things he would not stoop to.

Amira leaned to the side and scratched her ear with her back paw, musing the question over. Still, she hadn't picked up on Hanyu's playboy motives. There wasn't a time she'd had to bother learning detecting such things. Tabia was always ready and willing to shield her. Heaven help Hanyu when her sister found out she'd done guard duty with him. She probably wouldn't kill him since Konja had been there too.

Probably.

"She was pretty, yeah. Black and white, with really pretty blue eyes. She's Hasana's granddaughter from Ohahira, that one who left the pride a long time ago. It sounds like she was a slave too for a while, and that they were all born that way. Isn't that crazy?"

Inside the cave, Hari was as convincing (and insane) as her. There was no hesitation or sign she was lying, and her false story was made oh-so-easy to craft with the information Ohahira had provided her. Mother was right. Having friends was fun.

"I am, yes. I know you're not pleased given my dominant color, but I also know there were yellow among you before your son sent everything into a spiral. They were slaves, though, yes? You know they don't have those anymore. Things have changed. Everything over there has changed."

Pushing her luck now, but still not seeming all that concerned about it, Hari strolled right on over and brushed against him. Almost like she was flirting. Almost.

"That's exactly why I'm here. On behalf of your son. Have you not heard of the current condition your former land is in?"

Hanyu thought it over. Blue eyes. . . he hadn't seen a lot of lions with those. Brown, orange, green, you name it. Blue? Nah. What a catch. He'd have to find her. After he was done with Amira.

"Yeah, it's crazy," he answered good-naturedly. It was all in the style. "I'm glad you're out here with me to guard this guy. He sounds horrible." He glanced over at the brown near them. "Konja, too." That was only added for effect.

-

Uzulu shook his head. Not his son.

It was his previous mate's brother that had sent things into motion with that dastardly slave of his he'd been having an affair with. However, Hari's words rang true enough.

His son had betrayed him. He had picked to go with the rebels, and side with Kaanga's brother and that slave-b***h. Too many had took that side. There had not been enough to reclaim the Blood from that point, certainly.

When she brushed against him, he scowled but did not move. There was no point. There was no where to go.

"I have not touched the lands of the Blood for threefold cycles of the moon," he answered. His eyes were on her back. He was waiting for the information that he wanted. That they'd failed. That they would admit to their wrongs and that the traditionalist pride would once again form and take their rule over the Motoujami.

"Whatever you're proposing, I'm listening." It bothered her that she said "you" instead of "us". If she proved to be false, he would kill her. Now, however, he wanted out of this mess, and if she was who she said she was, this would all go very well.

"Uh... Thanks." Amira was getting tired and waiting for whoever was supposed to fill in for her. She assumed it was Hari, since Rosko and just taking his turn and it would be asking a lot of grandma. Where was Hari anyway?

Konja was too fixated on his foot to bother answering.

-

"I know you are, lovely," Hari purred at him, trying very hard to keep the smirk of her face and succeeding. She was eerily good at this still. This pride had bowed down mostly because of her once, and it'd do it again.

"I'm sure you know I wasn't with you for the first run." Then it became clear when Hari said 'you', she had meant 'the' Firekin; the originals. She wasn't stupid enough to think he was that stupid. A group of stuffy traditionalists? They were probably up in each others business more than the Mtaishi. There's no way he'd have just happened to not know someone he'd have taken time out of his day to hate for being too yellow was there.

"So, I can see where you'd hesitate to like me any. That's why I'm stalling. It bothers me to admit that the ones like you were right, see? But things aren't going so well. They know they're wrong now. I wouldn't be here, but who am I to deny Her? Perhaps you all were in the right..."

Hari took in a deep breath, for a second looking truly distressed. Quite the actress.

"Things are becoming too much to bare, being overrun with these rogues campaigning to change everything. They're becoming cowards, useless. Like every other pride out there. It's disgusting, and disrespectful." The rambling was gag-worthy to her, but for these old timers so dedicated to their former ways, maybe she'd strike a cord sounding so loyal. "So... Yes, we're trying to round up the former chosen ones. Create a new generation with old ideals to keep the pride strong and on top. Like it used to be."

After that, Hanyu ran out of steam. Instead, he settled down next to Amira and stared off at the blank rocks. Eventually, the boredom took its toll and he felt his eyes get droopy.

He yawned and stretched. "Know any good jokes?" he asked after a while. Damn . . . this job was more sucky than he thought it would be. It wasn't like he could do anything with his mother there.

Unless she'd fallen asleep. Looking up, Hanyu determined that his mother was secretly a member of the undead. She gave him a look that chilled his bones and no, she didn't look the least bit tired.

Giving up, he settled his head back in his paws and waited.

-

Lovely? Her flirtations actions were rather pointless at this time, but he kept it in mind that she was interested. If the pride was falling as much this lioness was saying, she could end up being the perfect asset.

"It's nice to know that Finarsi's Blood still lives," he answered with a curl to the corners of his maw that bared teeth.

"You know that I am with you, then." Oh yes. It really was that easy.

"Oh, I know one!" Amira piped up. This promised to be not funny and worthy of a groan, plus a good paw smack to the face. Hanyu must have missed the memo that her jokes were infamously horrible. This one she'd heard from some cheetah not all there.

"Okay, okay... So two hares walk to the watering hole. And one hare says, 'Isn't that a lion?' And the other hare has already run, then the first one gets eaten!" Barely finishing, she then burst into wild laughter.

Konja... chewed on his foot. "I don't get it."

-

Hari nodded in agreement, only rolling her eyes on the inside. What a moron. She peered up at the entrance she had made then back at him. "You can't make that climb in this condition," she noted wisely. "I'll bring you food, the best I can find, and herbs from a healer I know. That way you'll be ready to escape sooner."

She shifted her shoulders and gave him one of those looks. "We'll get to work on that generation soon as well."
