Anolani took back her port with a pout. The man freakin' stole her port! But it wasn't the time to be worrying about that - not with a Lucifex that someone refused to burn.

"Yeah, I got a lighter." She passed it to him before taking another swig of the port. She sighed, "Damn, and this was a really good bottle too." Meaning it was extremely alcoholic and sweet. Regardless, she took out the port and manipulated it so that it would become a part of her shield. "Want any help with burning the thing?" She carefully watched him from the corner of her eyes. Hmm. I doubt it'd be hard to manipulate this man to doing what I want. Let's see how useful he is in a fight.

"It's soaked in alcohol, isn't it?" he asked, sweeping his blind gaze over the battlefield. "In that case, I think I can handle it. But if you really want to be of some help, then you could standby to assist if anything happens. That would be just great."

He smiled at her; it was unclear if it was sincere or not. Taking her lighter, he sparked it and lit the wick, then darted around the edge of the counter until he was a few yards from the Lucifex. He tossed the lighter straight into it, then sank into his own shadow so that he came up across the room.

Victor watched as it took effect, wondering what had happened to stop the rest of the patrons of the bar from attacking the Fallen Angel.

Anolani watched as the man burned everything covered in alcohol, which was a good majority of the tentacles and stone-like Lucifex. Riiiight. Protect you with MORE alcohol while being surrounded by fire. That'll work. She dropped her liquid weapon in favor of uncapping the water bottles that were underneath the bar.

She also remembered two very important pieces of information. Where there's a bar, there's a sink to clean out the glasses. And where there's a fire inside a building, there's a sprinkler system. She ran through a door beside the bar and found the sink meant to wash dishes. She turned the faucet on, and let the water run. In order to keep the door from closing, she froze the hinges with her new sphere of water. She would have a good amount of water now - and if the sprinkler came on, she could freeze the damn Lucifex. I might accidentally end up freezing everyone else, too, but that probably won't happen. If it does, oops.

"I don't think burning it is going to do as much damage as you think it is," Johnstone shouted over the fighting. "It's retaliating against fire, but it can still use tentacles that are burned. Can't use tentacles that are severed!" That was assuming the thing would even burn in the first place, even soaked in alcohol. The fire would probably be largely external. That was Johnstone's guess, anyway.

Victor's shadowspikes brought jets of boiling stone from the Lucifex's shell, and it thrashed more (often ineffectually) at its surroundings, before wrapping two tentacles around rafters in the vaulted ceiling and yanking itself upwards.

And then A BULL struck it, entangling its horns in the tentacles. The entire alcohol coating lit up from a flying lighter impacting the Lucifex while the bull ripped it down by the tentacles, bending a rafter almost in half before the final tendril lost its grip. The bull rampaged forward and slammed the Lucifex against the wall, then moved away. As the bull backed off, the Lucifex shot two tentacles at it, grabbed it by its legs, and slammed it down at a mage in a black-and-silver military uniform, who extended his hands and blocked the entire weight of the strike.

A Panzermagus, clearly.

The irritated Lucifex, screeching wildly as it burned, threw the bull sideways, crushing a too-slow gunner against a window panel as he dodged awkwardly. The sprinklers began to go off and the Panzermagus, nodding at Victor and Anolani, threw a field up above the Lucifex, keeping the water from washing the great demon's flaming coating away.

The Lucifex's uninterrupted screeching grew into an enraged roar, and it swung by its tentacles to slam its central statue-like body at the bar.

Victor took the opportunity to shoot as many Shadow spikes as he could manage to summon to spear the burning Lucifex. It was about all he could do at this point; someone else could handle actually killing it. Victor had it pretty much pinned.

The Lucifex yanked itself upward, fleeing the searing spikes. It bounced off the Panzermagus' field and began to lash out at anything nearby before resuming its attack on Anolani behind the bar, turning its body sideways and hurling itself over, bearing down on Anolani from above.

Victor's Arts-Demonic enabled him to use his magic at just about the speed of thought, a fact that he was intensely grateful for as he sank into his shadow.

He didn't even bother to come up behind the bar; Anolani's shadow simply swelled, Victor's fingertips made contact with her body, and she sank down quickly. The two emerged from a shadow portal on the wall across the room, Victor holding Anolani in his arms. He quickly set her down.

"You OK?"

The Lucifex smashed against the rack of bottles against the back of the bar, dousing itself in more alcohol. It burst outward through the bar, not bothering to lift itself over it and slammed someone who was throwing glowing knives at it towards Anolani and Victor.

Vwoop and Anolani sank out of the floor across the room. Victor threw himself to the floor, leaving the portal on the wall open. The thrown mage flew through the portal, came up out of a portal on the floor, fell back into it, and came out of the wall again at a much lower speed. Naturally, he was not moving fast enough to be killed - not even close.

Victor was beginning to feel a bit strained from all the lightning-fast magic usage, but his demon side was keeping his human side from giving in to it.

James focused furiously, operating quickly. He dispelled the demonic bull, preventing it from being used as a weapon, then re-summoned it charging again.

The myth of the bull in the china shop has been proven wrong (at least according to Mythbusters). Apparently bulls, in fact, are capable of fine motor control. This one also happened to be a demon, which didn't hurt.

So when it exploded over Victor's shoulder, it didn't even come close to harming them, nor to striking the flying human being. Instead it rammed forward into the Lucifex head on, furiously bellowing and burning.

"Thanks, mate," the knife thrower called out as he got to his feet, dodging another tentacle that grabbed for him.

The Lucifex crunched against the wall. The stone seemed to be cracking a little from a combination of attacks by A BULL, a shadow mage, and the part where it had been burning for almost a half-minute.

Its arms suddenly uncrossed and it grabbed the bull. The face contorted into an expression of pure rage and hate at all that existed and it slammed the bull against the floor, forcefully dispelling it. The backlash caused Johnstone's mind to blank momentarily. His head began to swim a little.

Victor backed up a little, cracking his neck. "How about if everyone hits this damn thing at the same time?" he called, raising his voice as loud as he could. He was rapidly growing tired of this.

"Ack!" Anolani barely had time to thank Victor before she got swooped off again. Once she'd gotten a grip on her surroundings, she used the water to hit the moving arms. It had not been plain water, but rather an everchanging combination of liquid shield and icy offensive.

After hearing Victor's suggestion, she replied, "I'm with you on that!" She was annoyed by the fight. She dropped her shield in order to focus on her biggest attack - ice needles. Since the sprinklers were still going off, the water droplets could be used to form all sizes of spikes/needles. Not to mention, the water was surrounding the damn Lucifex, meaning she could attack it from every angle. "Whenever you're ready," she called.
