No, I don't really find them funny, even though I'm not fat. If I were in the situation, I probably would not appreciate it. Many people that tell the jokes want to seem well-meaning, but they're derisive instead. But I guess they are ok if you know the person well enough to know they're kidding smile
Now, I laughed in Shallow Hal when they went to the restraunt, while he still saw her as thin. Those guys were cracking jokes about her eating so much, and he thought they were talking about him! And he confused them, but I don't remember much about it. It wasn't my fave Jack Black movie though. That was School of Rock.
