Sunil looked at him curiously, "So you eat meat? Why would you do that? Doesn't it hurt to see the animals die?" she wasn't really repulsed by the idea, just curious, she had never met anyone who ate meat before.

Yanagi shook his head. "Not hurt. Is normal. I not eat, maybe something else do. Animal care which? Think no. Eat plants, is like eat part of me. And taste bad." He made a face, sticking out his tongue as if trying to remove a bad taste from it.

Sunil laughs at the look on his face, "I can understand, thats how I feel about eating animals, but you look like a plant so I can see how you wouldn't want to eat plants"

He nodded, glad she understood and hadn't run, screaming something about Kirkani and run for the hills, like most of the other Kirin he'd met. He never could figure out what they were going on about.

Sunil studied him, something seemed to bother him, she took a quick look around but didn't see anything so she went back to studying him.

He shifted his weight on his feet, ill at ease with her intense scrutiny. "No scared? Mad? I eat meat, other Kirin not like. Run away, call names, chase me off." He had to know why this mare was different, why she was not reacting in the manner he had become accustomed to.

Sunil shrugs, she had grown up mostly alone, and didn't mind people's differences "You're different, but everyone has their own differences. You're not going to try to eat me are you? If not, then no, I won't chase you away or run away myself"

He shook his head emphatically. "Not eat you. If would eat you, could eat plants too. Same problem. You safe." he assured her.
He wondered if that was what all the hubbub was about. Why would they assume that he was going to eat them, just because he ate meat? It made no sense to him.

Sunil smiles at him "Well then you're ok to me, you're just different, but whats the fun in everyone being the same?"

"Yes!" Nagi exclaimed, happy that someone finally understood. Why should it matter that he ate meat, while they ate plants?

Sunil smiled but got distracted by another bug. She leaped after the bug, trying to grab it again. "Here buggy buggy buggy!" she jumped again "I don't want to hurt you!"

Sunil paused to look at him, losing sight of the butterfly as it flew away. "Well I don't want to chomp it, I just want to catch it on my hoof, some of them have such pretty colors," she watched a one flutter by who's wings were blues and greens, "Don't you think?"

"Catch with hoof? Not chomp, then, stomp." He gave an amused whinny. "Still hurt. Pretty, yes. Nice colors." He nodded, causing the leaves in his forelock to cover his eyes for a moment. He flicked them out of the way, only to discover an iridescent green dragonfly had landed on his nose. He looked at it, going more than a little cross-eyed in the process. "Hello pretty bug."

Sunil scooted closer to him, watching the dragonfly "Pretty! I don't want to hurt it, just look. They seem to like the look of you" she giggled softly, trying not to scare the bug away. She was momentarily distracted, watching another bug glint in the sunlight. When she looked back at him, she smiled and got nose to nose with him to examine the dragonfly. "Very pretty"
