I hate to be a stick in the mud, but some of the posts after this should have been whited. That's all I'll say about it. Yeah, I was slightly disappointed as well. I mean.. Meghan Fox just doesn't cut it. She had a bit role in the first movie, but now.... ugh, token "hot" female? (the "hot" being questionable in my eyes >.>). While I'm glad that the human vs. transformer fight was a bit more even. That was pleasant to see. Didn't care for what happened to Jetfire though. Poor old Codger.

Having seen it, it wasn't that bad. It certainly wasn't any worse than the first.
I would even go so far to say that Bay GETS the Transformers franchise more than many here do. Transformers fiction has always been, and will always be, directly equivalent to pornography. Whatever plot there has ever been has always served to provide an excuse for the action. Things turning into robots and kicking each others asses. Even the comics that produced all this canon that everybody gooshes over. Toy Porn. (Seriously, Autobots? Your ambassadors rip off their own heads and offer them up as a gesture of peace? It's an explanation for cool toys.)
If I have to be a "blind fanboy" to admit that I just watched one of the greatest toy commercials ever and enjoyed it, then sign me up. mrgreen

Michael Bay knows how to make films that make money. If that money is used to pay for more screen time of robots kicking each other asses, plus a hefty portion going to Hasbro to fund fantastic toys, I approve wholeheartedly.
If you want a horrible director, seek Uwe Boll. xd
Also, I'm ashamed to say that I wanted very badly to hate the twins, but couldn't do it. Every time I tried I found them reminding me of the rapping Zoanoid in the live-action Guyver movie, and that made me grin. mrgreen

∫It think the movies have to be thought of as an entirely separate TF universe. And most universes have flaws. But over all I thought it was entertaining. The ball jokes were a bit of a pain, like everyone says. I think it had an interesting, fast paced plot line.

I would agree... you would probably hurt less if you perceived it as another alternate to G1 just like every other series that came out after G1.

Here's my biggest beef with the fragging movie:
Why the ******** did you bring back Megatron? He served no purpose whatsoever. It's not like he advanced the plot or anything. Oh, and way to give the bots personalities, Bay. We saw virtually nothing of Sideswipe and Arcee. Ratchet had, like, one line. Ironhide had, like, two.
Starscream, though... Starscream made me cream myself, especially the part where Megatron beats the slag out of him. heart

Having seen the film a second time, I did not gain much more insight. I still loathe the bit about Hatchilings. I mean, they spend the film calling humans insects, and then do this? No. I call Bayformer B.S.
As for Megatron: I was okay with his return, and was very VERY glad he had actual lines. His and Starscream's interactions were in this film, what I wanted to see in the last one. Espically at the end where Starscream cautiously explains that cowards do survive. THAT was made of win. Personally, I was very fond of the gang-up on prime and backstab Megs performed. That was classic Megatron. In fact, the forest battle was one of the major highlights of the whole film!
The twins . . . ugh, the controversial twins . . . I read an article saying that they are racist against blacks because they take the caricatures of African Americans and make it alright because they are 'just robots.' That is to say nothing of the fact that one of the twins was voiced by Spongebob! The second run-through I have to admit they were not nearly as annoying. Perhaps because I knew what to expect? Whatever the reason I was able to smile a bit at them.
Other TFs: Ironhide got a few lines in, and was alright. Arcee got kinda shafted with only being there for a few bits but at least got two lines in. Sideswipe was given about as much character as Ironhide from the first film: Bad, and looking for a fight. Still, he was alright. I do feel bad for Ratchet, though. Two films and still only fodder for the background. The real shame is Jolt. He has NO lines, is not seen in any major capacity (if any) in battle, and yet was the one to transpose Jetfire's new corpse onto Prime. Kind of instrumental to that last battle . . .
