The young woman beamed from ear to ear as she rushed over to embrace her friend. "Oh, of course, Keeta!" She exclaimed before pulling away and looking to the blue haired elf. "The only reason I even bothered asking was to make sure I'd be able to do as I promised." She explained.
"I'm just not sure how much I can help with planning what you've not gotten figured out yet, as I'm sure our matrimonial ceremonies are quite different." She explained sheepishly.

"You...you will?!" Keeta's face lit up as she grinned and returned her friend's hug. She breathed a sigh of relief, although now she couldn't recall why she had really been nervous in the first place.
"I'm sorry I was so silly about it. I don't know why I was like that. And I'm not expecting to ask you to do a whole lot. I think keeping me sane and being there with me while I stand up there are going to be plenty of help as it is. Knowing me I'll be a complete wreck and I'll need someone to talk me into actually going up there." She shook her head and offered a wry smile.

"I said I would, didn't I?" She asked with a cheeky grin, her grey eyes sparkling. "And don't even being to say 'sorries', I'm sure you're stressing quite hard at the moment, and I don't blame you in the least!"
The Keikancho-Jin chuckled. "Well, I'm sure I can see about getting you to the ceremony, even if I have to attempt to tackle you." She smiled. "I'd rather not, though, 'cause I'm certain you'll be tarted up quite a bit." The woman looked to her friend. "Speaking of which, d'you know what you'll be wearing?" She asked, brightly.

"Oh yes," Keeta said, grinning conspiratorially, in regards to the question about her wedding atire. "Would you like to see? If I show you though, you have to swear not to tell anyone else; esprecially Rhine. Not even my future mother-in-law has seen the dress. I don't know what kinds of superstitions you might have, but here, it's considered bad luck for the groom to see the wedding dress, or the bride in the wedding dress, before the actual ceremony."
She gave a sidelong look at her matron of honor.
"We'll be needing to figure out what you'll be wearing too...but we can get to that in a bit."

Jiao'lan beamed. "And who would I tell?" She asked teasingly. "But, I won't." The woman nodded. "We have the same sort of thing, in a sense. The couple aren't even allowed to see each other for week before the ceremony though." She found the question about seeing her wedding attire almost laughable. "Of course, I would!"
The differences in the cultures were something the Keikancho-Jin always found interesting.
"So what are the ceremonies like, here?" She asked curiously, choosing not to respond to the notion that she'd need something to wear as well. That seemed to be a given anyway, but the entire prospect of two lives joining and the process of how it became official in Gaia was far more interesting at the moment.

Keeta waved for Jiao'lan to follow her down the hallway, towards the master bedroom talking as she went.
"Well the ceremonies here have the groom (the man) and his attendants, known as the groomsmen waiting at the front of the church or chosen venue for the ceremony, along with the person officiating. The guests sit facing the groom, his friends and family on one side and the bride's (the woman's) friends and family on the other." Keeta peeked in on the kids as they passed their bedroom, and finding them adequately occupied, she smiled at Jiao'lan and continued down the hall.
"When the ceremony starts, the bride's attendants walk down the asile to music, sometimes usually in matching dresses and holding flowers, up to the front of the room where the groom is. Sometimes there's a little girl and boy throwing flower petals and helding the rings that the bride and groom exchange as symbols of their commitment. Usually the last person to come down the asile before the bride is the matron of honor. In this case....you," she said with a chuckle, leading her into the master bedroom.
"When everyone involved in the ceremony, except the bride, is at the front, waiting, the music changes and all the guests stand and watch as the bride comes down the aisle, usually escorted by her father or other important male relative. I don't think anyone is going to be walking me down the aisle, but we'll see.
"Anyways, once the bride is there, the person officiating walks the bride and groom through some vows, usually promising how they will care for one another and work together regardless of the circumstances they may encounter during their life together. After that the couple exchanges their rings, kisses and they are husband and wife. Then everyone typically celebrates for several hours following that." Keeta smiled and opened the closet reaching for a garment bag.
"I hope that made sense."

"As much sense as it's gonna for a while." She said. "But, I think I understand the concept well enough." Jiao'lan said with a warm smile. "Granted, I'm sure its more...complicated than that." As her friend pulled out the garment bag she watched, and waited.
"It doesn't sound too terribly different than what I'm used to." The woman explained, when a thought came to her. "Am I wrong in assuming Camille and Joel are going to be involved in the ceremony?" She asked.
Her mind drifted, momentarily, to her tribe's matchmaking rituals and ceremonies. She had left her part of the island a few days prior to when she was due to complete hers, along with the other females of her age group.
Jiao'lan was glad she had.

Keeta shook her head as she laid the bag on the bed and started to unzip it.
"No I don't think they're going to be in it, as much as that would make it a family occasion. They're both young and Camille is so shy, I don't think I could trust her to make it down the aisle without freezing up in front of all those people. I think it'd just make things less complicated if they simply watched it." As she spoke she had been pulling the dress from the bag. She smiled and held it up for Jiao'lan to see.
It was a white gown made of satin with ruching in just the right place to lightly accentuate the bustline. The front had a split overlay beneath the ruching, giving a two layered effect and the top of the gown had little silver bedazlements. Little lacy cap sleeves came off the top and the dress had a medium length train.

Jiao'lan's eyes widened at the sight of the grown. "Oh my goodness!" The young woman exclaimed. The dress was one of the most elegant articles of clothing she had ever seen in her life! The silver embellishments alone had the avian side of her excited. As much as it would have embarrassed her to to have it known her mind was firing off things like, 'gorgeous, pretty, ohmigawd SHINEY'.
The side conversation about her friend's children being involved in the actual ceremony had all but been forgotten.
"You're gonna look amazing, Keeta." She had a rather large smile on her face, and since words were failing her, the expression said it all.

"You really think so?" she said, turning as she held it up. I can only hope...I want this day to be special. I've been looking for someone who cares for me like Rhine does for such a long time. I can only hope it'll last...." she turned and looked out the window wistfully. After a giant pause, she realized she had kind of spaced out and turned back to her friend sheepishly.
"Sorry...didn't mean to drift off in thought there. So... since you're going to need something to wear up there, I was wondering what kinds of clothing are comfortable for you, since I know you can't wear the same kinds of things as I do. I want to look around for some outfits that would work for you to use in the wedding."

Another nod.
"Yes, I do." As Keeta's mind wandered Jiao'lan wondered about her friend's reservations. She hadn't seen love such as that between Rhine and her best friend in quite some time. If they couldn't make it, she shuddered to think what was to become of everyone else.
"Not a problem. You have got a lot to think about. It's no surprise your mind tends to drift." The young woman said sincerely.
"Oh, well, I suppose the only things that would need to be minded are my wings and tail. Sleeves would be the only real issues that I can think of. And if there was a sort of skirt or dress you had in mind, or would prefer a slit in back would be enough to give my tail room." Jiao'lan felt rather bad that whatever Keeta chose would probably need a lot of tailoring due to both her stature and her unique body shape.
"So long as it'll fit and it's what you want. You don't need to worry about me." She added.

"Hmmm....so sleeveless and perhaps seperates for the top and bottom instead of a solid skirt," Keeta mused as she looked her friend over.
"I haven't really thought about colors too much yet....do you think a periwinkle blue would clash too much?"

"With?" Jiao'lan asked. "But, it's a gorgeous colour and if it's one that you like, I see no reason why you shouldn't use it." She said.
"But I'm probably not the best person to ask about clothing advice." The Keikancho-Jin chuckled. "I'm fairly new to the concept, after all."
