He itches exactly where she said and her eyes close. A soft purr escapes her, and when he stops and speaks she replies, "Mhmmm," opening her eyes, she looks at him and offers a nod, "Thank you, that was very irritable."
She glances around them, seeing the sun still high up in the sky and says, "Well, I don't suppose you live here, shouldn't we take your bones back to your... den...? Or something?" She wasn't quite sure what he would call his home, she herself didn't have one, other than Mother Swamp, of course. She would curl up just about anywhere for the night, as she led a rather nomadic life.

He nods, happy to have been a help. "Your welcome." He nods at her suggestion as well, or rather, tries too as he also attepmts to shake his head. He stills his head, feeling a bit embaressed at his awkward movement. "I have a home area, though I don't always stay there. I like to roam at times." He stops there, wondering how much she'd be able to puzzle out about his actions regarding the bones if she saw his pond. Shaking his head, and hoping she won't think him odd if she does figure it out, he contines. "There's a pond not far off, that's my home. I haven't had many visitors, but your welcome to see it." He walks over to the bones, and using a front hoof, pushes them into a pile. Leaning down, he blows gently on them, trying to remove as much dirt as possible. Opening his mouth, he scoops them up, getting most of them in one try. Lifting his head, he turns and walks off, following no path, but looking sure of his destination noned the less.

Progress! Well... sort of... the male couldn't quite decide on a response, it seemed and was stuck somewhere in the middle. But he did mention that he lived in a pond. She would definitely consider this progress. Taking charge seems to have given him a little more confidence, so she did not say anything.
She watched as he carefully cleaned and scooped up the fish bones and strode confidently towards home. She followed him obligingly. Her ears perked up as she thought she heard some splashes in the water behind them, but they ceased after a moment, so she dismissed it as a fish flailing or something like. She trotted a few steps to pull up beside him and fell into step with him. They continued along at a pleasant pace, and she glanced around as they walked, taking in the surroundings, absentmindedly taking note of nests and burrows. She gave the occasional grunt or snuffle at anything particularly close to her feet, but otherwise didn't say anything, as the buck's mouth was full and wouldn't be able to respond anyway.

After a few minutes, they come to the pond in question. At first glance it looks like a normal pond, but upon closer inspection it's apparent that at least part of it isn't naturally made. Most of the pond edge is natural, but it is clear that one end was reshaped, mud and logs having been pushed around to reshape it into more of an egg shape. By the hoofprints stamped into pounded down mud and debris, it's clear a Kimeti reshaped the pond.
Fish Bones walks around the edge a bit, to a flat topped rock sitting a few yards off. Once there, he lowers his head and drops the bones onto the rock. Turning back, he looks at Cold-Blood. "This is my home, most of the time at least." He watches her, knowing even an inperceptive sort would be able to see the large numbers of bone shards in the pond, as well as the modifications he'd made to the edge.

When they reach their destination she stops a few paces back, and looks around, taking it all in. Obvious renovations... and materials introduced that were not there before. She tilts her head to one side, noticing the bones scattered everywhere and takes a moment to try to identify them. Deciding it wasn't important, she straightens her head and sits down.
"It's very lovely. You've made it your own, as a home should be." She smiled warmly at him. After all, why shouldn't one's home look like what they wanted it to? It looked inviting to her, though she knew others might think it odd that bones wouldn't instill the constant reminder of death in the dweller. It didn't bother her, so why should it bother him? He liked it, so why shouldn't someone respect that?

Fish Bones smiles, walking back over to her. "Thank you." Any worry he had about her finding the real reason for his modifications drains out of him. "It's still not done, but I don't know how to go about fixing the pond so it looks like a smaller pond in a larger pond." He frowns slightly, that statement isn't as close to the truth as he'd like, so he adds to it. "Well, I know how to dig out the areas to make a pond base. I just have'nt figured out how to get water into it." Satisfied with that answer, he looks around, not really sure what to say now.

Cocking her head to one side, then again to the other, Cold-Blood assesses the situation. It was quite a bit of water that he would need for his pond. Much more than it would be easy to carry. This was quite the puzzle.
She looked over to Fish Bones and asked, "Well... how far away is the nearest water source?"

Fish Bones turns his head, pointing to his left with his muzzle. "About twentyfive yards that way is a nice sized stream." He looks in that direction, picturing the water flowing. Then looks back at Cold-Blood. "The stream's course can be diverted this far?" That thought hadn't really occured to him, he'd just assumed there was no water close enough to bring in here.

She nods at his response, "Yes, I think it could be possible, assuming that it's all down-hill from there to here. But it would have to be dug deep by the time it got here... If not... then we could find something to hollow out and bring the water back in that. Perhaps something like a log?" She looked thoughtful for a moment and then continued, "Do you think it's all downhill to here?"

He closes his eyes, picturing the times he's gone to the stream. "Yes, most of it is uphill, there's a small stretch that's even ground, though." He opens his eyes, grinning, at her last question. "I dunno about logs, but I have a couple of nice sized turtle shells. This way." He walks off, around the pond, to what appears to be a Kimeti sized nest. It's constructed of all manner of things one would find around, branches, vines, plant stuffs, and the like. Feathers, dried flowers, small shells and pebbles of varying colors litter the inside, as well as being woven between the vines and branches. Sitting beside it are two largish turtle shells.

She grins at the nest, highly amused by it. To her, it looked like the sort of nests a mother swan makes right before she lays her eggs. One that she never leaves until her eggs have hatched and are running around as fluffy little goslings.
When she spots the turtle shells, she deems them a good size. "Those could work. They'll take a few trips, but it should be fine. Do you think we'd be able to carry them around, full of water? It'll add some weight, but I'm not sure how heavy these are..." She approaches the shells and tilts one with her muzzle.

He shakes his head, unsure of the answer. "I don't know, never tried carrying them full of water. We could probably carry one between us, though." He wonders if digging a trench from the stream to here might not be easier. He doesn't voice it though, he enjoys Cold-Blood's company, and if this idea fails, it just means he'll be around her that much longer while they work on another idea.

"Mmm.." she hikes up her shoulders for a second in a small shrug, and replies, "We can give it a try. If it doesn't work, or takes too long we can always try something else. But these shells are rather large, they should be ok between the two of us. I'm just not sure.... that I remember your pond's dimensions. Well, we'll see how this goes," she bends down and grabs one side of a shell firmly between her teeth and waits for him to grab the other side.

Fish Bones looks around, taking in the raised edges that form the pond to be. Now that he really looks, it does seem to be larger then an average pond. Ahh well, there's nothing to do for it. With a tail flick, he walks over, leans down and takes the shell, starting to lift it slowly.

She obligingly lifts the shell with him and slowly turns towards the pond. She takes a few steps forward, before realizing that she doesn't know where the pond is. She stops. her tail flicking back and forth. Speaking around the shell, she mumbles, "Which way?"
