Caleidah Lt. Brookman I've read Berserk, it gives me nightmares. The Band of the Hawk arc is a good read, but it gets so depressing afterwards!
It's gotten better again. I will admit, yeah, it gets really depressing, but...Well, how far up did you get? Was Ganishka conquering Midland by the time you quit? Can't remember the name of the story arc.How long is the series?

I quit after the Band of the Hawk arc, the genocide of the Hawk's army and well.. everything kinda made me afraid for some reason.

@ DE: It is currently sitting at 305 chapters with the 306th coming out some time in this next week. I think Brookman got done around chapter 80 or something. A fair bit less than half of the way through the series.
@ Brookman: I can understand. After the scene at the (first) Eclipse, I was tempted to just walk away and never look at it again. Everything was just so ******** up at that point that it seemed like it couldn't ever redeem itself.
And it kinda does. But there's plenty more ********>

Berserk started in 1988 and is still going strong, which is quite an achievement for something that keeps up a good quality.

Absolutely. Miura's skill has obviously developed a bit, and it seems like he's going a bit soft recently. I -really- hope it was only a lull, though. The end of the most recent chapter features a massive Hydra tearing through the forest, killing everything (mostly animals) in its path.

Yup. Same artist, same author. Something very rare in any kind of comic.

If it's a passion, he is surely a dark and twisted man. Likely living in an overlarge home and never stepping into the sunlight.

Interesting, I might have to see about reading up on it if I get the chance.
Are hard copies available? Or would that put my clearance at risk for the sheer insanity of it? xd

Off onto another book:
If you've not read it, I strongly suggest Life of Pi. It's really quite good.
