Aruru looked at Arion, finally noting the very small, well hidden irritation he sometimes let slip into his eyes. She blinked, looking confused, before smiling at him again. Maybe he wasn't a people person. Maybe he wasn't an Aruru person, she'd met plenty of those sorts of people. She was used to it, her personality could be...over-whelming if you weren't used to boisterous people, that, and her buffers were missing. Macy was well...she frowned. Maybe she could coax him out if he wasn't a drunken mess....and Hyde. Well Hyde was busy with Kai, they hadn't gotten past the 'let's limpet onto each other's face/body/etc..' stage just yet.

"Like I said. I'm very glad you did." She answered Arion with a smile, though her tone had gone down to a normal level of happy, her excitement finally washing away. She smiled at Gabrielle and nodded. "I'd be delighted to, you may call me Aruru though. Lady Winchesten is just so...blah." She said. And on the subject of fauns..."I haven't either. Hyde has, but he was pink and fluffy." Useless information count, one.

Hyuu~! They were nice! Uncle Murdoth was grouchy most of the time, this one wasn't at all! She grinned widely at Gunner, looking completely happy that he was being nice to her. Nadeshiko wasn't one to pay attention, thus the hand in the trousers really wasn't present in her mind, nor would it have offended her if she had paid attention. She wasn't at the stage of knowing much about that yet, despite being part of Macy's family, thus, in contact with Macy himself.

"Cute names! They're so sweet!" She said, peering at the babies again. She wasn't the type to touch without permission, so she simply held onto her bunny plushie as she observed the small children. "Oh! I'm Nadeshiko. Nice to meet you!" She curtsied when he half bowed, always with manners. "And who might you be?"

Why was he here again? Seriously, why? Macy huffed, hands buried deep in his pants pockets as he wandered out of Aruru's house and into the ball area, a decidedly unenjoyable look on his face as he wandered down the steps and to where the other guests were milling around. His mother was...inside, being annoying. Aruru was...over there, being annoying and Nadeshiko was...Macy's eyes narrowed a little, before he walked over, sliding an arm around Nadeshiko's shoulders. That hand was inappropriately placed, he glowered at it before smoothing his expression over to indifference and boredom.

"Hello." He greeted Gunner just then, tone careful. Nadeshiko was looking at him as if confused. "Not to nitpick or anything...but is that really appropriate in front of a young girl, sir?" He asked, motioning with eyes down to the hand.

Illy gave a snort, eyes crinkled in amusement. "You are sounding a bit like my father." He shifted Nathan slightly. "I don't know Gunner, if you get messy and liberate you might managed to get kicked out...and then I'll have to follow." He paused, lips set, eyes distance. "Mmm if you get thrown out we are going to drop the children off with dad and going somewhere for the private time."

Nathan blue eyes widen before laughing at his father, hand letting go of his 'mothers' pale strands and reaching for Gunner. "Amhhmmm nahhhhmm." He replied, trying to mimic his father.

Illy chuckled at their antics before freezing for a moment and then went loose, eyes half glazed as that hand wormed its way to touch flesh and started to tug slightly on his trousers."Gunn.." He broke off from the warning, blinking slightly....Pink?

He hummed as Gunner spoke before replying. "I'm Illmaste." He shifted Nathan, giving Gunner a small glare at the hand. "Gunner..." he muttered.

The grinding teeth didn't go completely unnoticed, the angel cast his eyes down, regretting his comments and questions, "Well uhm.. Maybe it would be best to accompany the Lady- Aruru, I mean, to see what there is on offer.."
He finished, quietly observing the two through pale locks of hair that crept back across his face when he had shifted and bowed his head.. Though a hint of a smile slowly crossed his lips once again at the mention of a rather unusual sounding faun..
"Pink and fluffy? That.. That can't be normal.." He mused, "Is it.. This way..?" He gestured to the open doors, with question as to the best route to get to the tea.

Gunner laughed happily as Nathan tried his best to mimic him, "I'll be disappointed if his first words are not 'Nom!' or 'Want!' you know.." He mused happily, giving the drows temple another gentle nose, while keeping an eye on the pink lady in front of them.
"Nadeshiko?" He smiled pleasantly, "That is a bit of a mouthful, but I'm sure we shall cope.. I'm Gunner.. And my lovely partner has already introduced himself.."

It took all he had to prevent him from purring. He was full of pride when he got to walk with Illmaste and their children, finding them to be stunning. Who could ask for more?

Though.. There was someone else approaching them now.. He automatically squared off his shoulders..
"Gunner.." He greeted Macy, his tone holding a fractionally stern lilt to it for the moment, "As far as I am aware.. There's nothing inappropriate about holding ones partner close.. And who would you be to ask me that?" A pierced eyebrow twitched down into a steady stare.

The fairy continued to loiter indecisively, his fingers curled into very loose fists as he looked between the two groups.. The one with the dragon seemed to be getting just a little volatile.. That was one to avoid! Though he did notices someone.. Just to the..

He startled just a little as a voice came from that flicker of movement, the only outward signs being the slight widening of his eyes and a flick of his wings. He turned sharpish wish a gentle swish of his rather vibrant hair to give the person a slightly sheepish smile, "Ah! Well uhm.. I suppose that you could say that, yes.." He started, tucking yet more stray strands back out of his face.
"I have never attended a formal function before.. Well, any sort of function I don't think!" He explained, tucking one of his arms around himself in a slightly defensive posture as he shifted his weight.
"I'm ah.. Digitalis." He offered, fairly soft spoken, "And unless my eyes deceive me.. You're a fae of some kind..?" He sounded almost hopeful, "I have only enjoyed the company of a human and a naga before, forgive me if I'm wrong."

User ImageThe elf grinned manicly. It had been an age and then some since he had had the chance for something like this! Shore-leave! Parties! Could like get much better?

Well.. If he had Kastor maybe.. A nice comfy bed.. Candles.. A bottle of wine too..

Ahem..

Parties! There was nothing that Zuberai Sabreal enjoyed more.. Well except Kas- Not again.. It was something of a mantra to the elf as he all but bounded his way into the large and elegant home.. Well.. He hoped this was the right place at any-rate.. If it wasn't then there was going to be one hell of a shock for the owner when they returned!

Motioned through the arches and hallway he eventually emerged into the gardens with a pleased cry of "Hey hey! I bought the rum!"
Then, and only then, did he relinquish his hold on his best friends collar. He could roam now they were safe and sound inside.. Though..

"Why in hell are you all looking at me like that?" He stuck his slender chin out in defiance.

User ImageThe quieter elf stumbled a little as Zubi marched determinedly ahead.. He wasn't sure if he had even been invited to this thing, but if it was one thing he had learned over the many years he had been friends with the fractionally younger helmsman was that wher he went.. He was bound to be coerced into following..

It wasn't all that bad.. Except the one time on the docks with the drinks.. That other time on the ship with the rope and the flamingo.. And the other time on the island with that big hairy snarling thing.. Or that short-lived pet chicken..

He twitched with every loud word his friend cried, when he was abruptly let go of, shaking him out of the many horrifying incidents of the past with his best friend.. Why were they best friends? He wished he knew sometimes..

"I would s-say.. That they were looking at you like that, menace, because you have just rushed into a gathering of total strangers and shouted at them.. It was pretty.. No.. Blissfully quiet before then.." He quietly stammered to the other elf, looking hopelessly lost as he spared the gathering a very nervous glance indeed.

"Eeeeh, Macy! Don't be silly! Gunner is very nice." Nadeshiko pouted, before looking at Gunner, grinning. "Well, you can call me Nade, if it's easier. Mummy and Daddy do, so I guess my name isn't quite easy enough for them either." She explained in a light tone, not at all looking bothered about the Unigon now draped against her, trying to white knight, as it were.

"Illmaste...that's a fun name! I like it." Nadeshiko then turned her attention to Illmaste, seemingly ignoring and effectively annoying Macy with her blatant ignorance of him. But really, why would he care? Didn't he have Estelle to go be mummy over...? Oh. No. No he didn't.

"There is a line between appropriate and inappropriate." Macy added calmly, smiling in a way that showed he was currently enjoying Gunner's reaction to him. If anything, he was in a confrontational mood and Gunner was becoming a nice target. "Macy Tresquax." He answered, his lips lifting in a sort of half sneer. He hadn't looked away from Gunner since the other had started contact, but then he had no plans to do so, nor to engage in any sort of battle. He was just enjoying being a ill-tempered mule, as Bat would so lovingly put it.

His ear twitched when a familiar voice shouted and he turned to look at the familiar twosome now in the midst of the small gathering. "Zubi..?" He called, rolling his eyes at the fact the other had indeed brought rum. "TEA AND CAKES, ZUBI. NOT RUM. TEA."

Illy smiled at Nadeshiko."It is a quite lovely name, but Nade is a bit simpler. It is a pleasure to meet you..and you can call me Illy is you wish." He kept his tone polite, beginning to think he should have pocked the flask his father had tried to push on him. He was going to need it if more like this Macy fellow popped out of the wood work.

Deciding to put an end to this before it came to blows, Illy passed Nathan off to Gunner and stepped right in front of view, head tilted back to look at the unicorn. "Well Macy Tresquax," the last part came out hard, almost spat."I think we can handle ourselves, thank you very much...and I'm sure you have much better things to do." He shifted his fingers slightly, leaning up to whispered gently. "Unless, you wish to be rooted to this spot like a statue to greet the guest, stop tempting my mate to blows." The dark elf smiled. "I'll even paint you in gold filigree."

Usually he would not rise to bait... but the children made him over protective.

*Soubi and Ritsuka came late, they had been trying to convince Eve to come but despite their pleadings she had refused, still wanting to keep a low profile and not cause trouble. Soubi took Ritsuka's hand and led him inside to where many of their kind was already. Ritsuka pouted a little but allowed himself to be pulled inside. He had managed to adjust his bandage with one hand before everyone saw him. It had been a while since they had been on a visit of pure entertainment but Ritsuka was told that taking a break from searching out his brother was needed. He had fought that fact but he knew his lover could be quite persuasive when he wanted to be.*

Hana left her usual attire for a slinky dress of brilliant blue silk that just hugged ever curve and had a slit nearly up to her hips. Traded getas for a pair of ballet flats in black and turned the waterfall of loose red brown into a uplift coif carefully pinned in place and set with two small combs of silver scattered with opal. A bit of dress up play time but not with out the bite. A small dagger was strapped in a thigh holster on the unslitted hip. And a small flask tucked away.

The first thing Hana noticed was the green, vibrant and healthy. She trailed her fingers across stem and leaf as she walked, lips in a closed half smile carefully hiding her sharp teeth. The next was the guests, trailed with quick flickers of eyes. This…this was going to be fun.

For the moment, the dragon just gritted his teeth, ready and waiting for a challenge from the unigon, his ears pressing back just a little more as the red creature sneered at him! Him!
His eyes flashed at that, emitting a growl of anger before he had even know what had come over him.
If there was one thing a dragon would not stand to have injured it was his pride! Well.. And his gold.. His mate.. His offspring.. But that was besides the point!

He opened his mouth to snarl a reply when he was caught quite off-guard by his usually docile mate little outburst..
He turned his bright eyes down to the drow, a very surprised little look on his face as he wilted slightly, automatically accepting his son into his other arm..
"Uhm.." He gave Nade a little shrug.. Partially out of apology for what he could have done and what his mate was doing.. And partly out of confusion..

Phantasma didn't seem too perturbed by the situation. She had gone very quiet at her fathers growl, her eyes getting a little shinier with the threat of tears.. But as soon as the familiar smear that was her brother came into sight she was happy as anything once again, kicking her feet at him, thought the frills of the under-skirt she worn pretty much negated the usual joy of seeing how fast she could blur the chubby appendages.
"Brrrrrr!" She giggled quietly.

The elfs ears perked up fractionally at the familiar voice, turning slightly he threw his arms up in a wide double-armed wave, "Ahoooooy, Macy!" He crooned happily, his coat whooshing out to the sides to reveal his fairly scrawny form, some would say.
"NO RUM!?" He looked aghast at the notion, "But I bought the rum! SO don't worry! Crisis averted!" He continued gleefully, revealing not one or two, but six at the very least bottles of the liquid, stashed in a satchel.
"S'not a party without rum! S'not a party without tea and cake, but someone else had already covered that!"

Bayne, on the other hand continued to wince and jump slightly at each of the louder words his friend cried.
Wasn't anyone else finding this unbearable? It was like the cannons.. And.. The exploding woods..
He looked around with haunted, slightly crazed eyes to seek out SOME kind of salvation.

Nadeshiko smiled at Gunner, shrugging back in return. It wasn't really bugging her really, though she was marginally upset when Illmaste had his little outburst, having not expected it. Her brows knitted down in a concern. She focused her gaze on the babies, not sure on what to do or say right now. "Okay, Illy." That sounded about right. She cooed at Phantasma, amused by her giggling. She was sooooo cute. Nadeshiko decided then that wanting to be a parent was a good goal.

The stare the Unigon levelled on both Gunner and Illmaste was one that showed he really could have cared less at the moment. About the threats or about how angry they were. He really...wasn't bothered by it, he didn't feel like he had the energy to react. He sneered again, before rolling his eyes and moving away, over to Zubi, knocking his fist lightly against his head.

"No alcohol." He chuckled, rolling his eyes, though he looked completely amused. Zubi could lift his spirits, for it was pretty obvious that Macy wasn't himself. His usual air was gone, he was feeling rather...docile. "You know Rum doesn't mix well with me, idiot! Where's the wine?" He asked jokingly, waving at Bayne, who still looked like he could easily faint.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 3:18 pm

Illmaste snorted, a light sound as he relaxed back into the docile lover Gunner was use to. He ran a hand though his short cut hair, last traces of anger leaving his features as they smoothed back into calm. "Well, that was fun...lets go and find something else." He made a face.

Illy brighten slight at his daughter who was more intrested in her brother then the little scene. Nathan not to be left out, kicked back at Phantasma. "Mm...so, do you know him?" Illy finally asked, guessing that this had not been some random case of anger being directed at the wrong person.

Valla had never much liked to go to balls and such. There were always to many people and no one ever talked to her. They were also inside, in stuffy ballrooms that seemed endless. Though something had called her to come to this ball. Perhaps it was that she hadn't much contact with others as of late. Though it was probably that it was because it was outside, in a garden no less. She loved to walk about others gardens and observe the flowers.

Her green eyes brightened some as she saw the lily flowers, her favorite being close to the lily of the valley. She looked around at the others talking in groups and looked back to the flowers, which swayed happily at her nearness.

Deers. Air-headedness. Ignorance. Sudden blasts of activity as people showed up all at once. That all Arion had expected. ... Pink and...fluffy... fauns.. ?

"I'm sure this Hyde enjoyed the substance he was ingesting." Arion didn't allow himself a moment of calculated consideration this time around.

Perhaps ironically, that was about the time someone bounded in announcing they had the rum for the party. He looked up with a half-quirked smile, ready to make another off-the-cuff comment, before his eyebrows suddenly knit together and he frowned. What had he just done?

"After all, fauns are stereotyped to be known to share the type. It's unlikely your friend would intentionally mar himself. Yes, Gabrielle, I do believe so."

What had been before a hesitation was now a welcome diversion and Arion started to lead the way Aruru had already pointed out. "Gabrielle says your balls have excellent reputations. That is doubtless, but I am eager to test that in the food and entertainment, if it doesn't seem rude to the lady Aruru. Are either of you accompanied?" Did Gabrielle have a lady he brought to entertain, or Aruru an escort? It was funny to see so many unpaired individuals!

Clop-clop-clop. Hard floors. Strike next. As he passed by, Arion noted the sphinx that had made her way in. He gave her a passing look, this time genuine, trying to catch her gaze, glancing at his hooves, and raising eyes and eyebrows to the sky. He wouldn't trade his appearance for the world, being a faun was the highest honor bestowed for any birth, but it was really bothersome being a part of the elite when there were so many not-haves out there who made their structures built for their own.

Arion continued. "As for myself, I have Elden. I believe it's all the world needs." He patted the flute that was hooked into his belt. His constant companion, one he was entirely pleased with.

"That's a shame. These events can be quite enjoyable with the right company. At least, that's the way I remember it. I haven't attended many myself since... well I don't have much experience to compare to." Raeli admitted. Hopefully that would change, but all the same some experience was better than none at all. This particular event appeared to be a lot more casual than the others.

He gave a slight nod of acknowledgement when the fairy introduced himself. "My name is Raeli. It's a pleasure to meet you, Digitalis." He introduced himself, "And your assumption is as correct as it can be. I am sure before this day is over you will be able to safely claim you have been in the company of many others. Just looking around, there are few the same." Someone got his attention when they seemed to be shouting to each other across distances. He shook his head slightly and sighed. And that seemed to be the kind of company one wouldn't want at such an event.

Gabriel allowed himself a bit of a relieved little smile as it felt at last like he wasn't the center of blame for annoying little happenings.. The sudden and rowdy appearance of the elves.. Well, that had certainly helped to break the moment, causing the angel to rise up onto his tip-toes to see what was going on.
"Rum..? Oh dear me.. I'm not sure that will.. Actually I'm sure it will go down very well.." He corrected himself quietly, "Though I'm not sure Lady Aruru would be too pleased.." He mused, peeking at the elf beside himself and the faun for a moment, catching his lower lip between his teeth for a moment, quirking an eyebrow with momentary worry.

"Though maybe if we drank enough we would be seeing Arion here as pink and fluffy as this other faun?" He mused, the smile creeping back with a little more force as he un-clasped his hands to tuck them around himself instead. The itching was getting quite unbearable.
"Accompanied..?" He mused, following after the faun as he entered the house in search of the fabled tea and food, "No.. I'm afraid not, in this instance. I.. Could not think of a soul who would wish to accompany to this.. But it sounded like such a good oppertunity to get out, I couldn't really say no.."

He cast his eyes down at the sharp noise of Arions hooves on the wooden floors as the entered the home, smiling at the contrast in sound between the hooves and the soft slap and pat of his own bare feet, hidden under the ghosting hanging fabrics of his robe.
"Hmm.. Elden..?" He quieried, his eyes resting on the patted.. THing..
"A flute! Oh I see now!" The angel nodded, "In which case.. Maybe my company is the water? I suppose that would sound a little weird as I also consume it in vast quantities too though.." He pulled a little bit of a face at that, quick stepping so that drew level with the faun then darted just a little ahead to peer up a broad but short flight of stairs..

The dragon pulled another confused little face at Nade for a moment before shooting her an apologetic look. It was horribly strange seeing his partner get workd up for once. That was his job!

"Illy, darling.. I can't hug you if I have both of them!" He barely kept the whine out of his voice, his thick tail thumping down onto the ground behind him.
"And yes.. I think.. Maybe it's high time our two little bundles of joy had fun rolling around oin their lovely clothes and eating some cake, maybe?" He teased a little, half meaning it, "And did I hear rum?" His ears perked up, "I could do with a bit of a drink, actually.." He muttered under his breath..
"Nade..?" He started, "Would you.. Maybe like to hold Phantasma? Only for a moment.." He added quickly, the hoarding dragon parenting instinct still incredibly strong. SHe did seem like such a nice girl though!

Phantasma was still happy in herself having a kicking match with her brother, she did make little grizzles of protest as she saw that Nathan could kick his legs a lot faster at the moment.. This big black thing was over hers and though it flapped around in a dramatic way, it just was not the same!

The fairy grinned a little more confidently this time, rubbing his fingers through his hair behind one of his long ears, "Well, I guess you've got to start somewhere! Even if things get a bit hairy, I guess if we stick together at least we could blind them with sparkles.. And.. I don't know.. Steal their food and have a smaller party of our own?" He joked quietly. What was this? He told lame jokes when he was nervous now!? That was pretty lame..

"And it's great to meet you too, Raeli! I'm proud that I've at least managed to meet someone of a very close species to mine!" And such an interesting appearance as well! Although he had vibrant skin himself, he didn't know that there could be someone with skin almost as pink as his hair, he just couldn't stop looking!

Well, he did when an elf shouted at the top of his lungs, turning suddenly to stare for a moment in shock at the sudden sound..
"Hmm.. Well.. I'm not sure about you, but if we get more company like that.." He turned to peer up at the other fae, "I could murder a cuppa already.. How about you?"

Xiomar continued to look vaguely amused at the pandemonium she could clearly see brewing since the rather over-active elf and his sickly looking companion arrived..
"Oh my.." Maybe it was time to grab some food before it spread too much..
She gave the faun and angel retreating to the more convenient way to the balcony.. Before she crouched herslef down and hopped up with a beat of her vibrant wings to alight up on the edge of the balcony, not really giving those below a second glance or their thoughts of the view up her dress.
Food!

Zubi feined distress for a moment, "No alcohol..? They may as well ahve said 'No Pirates' then and exclude the bunch of us, the racist, profession-ist a-holes!" He cried, happy that at least he could bounce off the unigon if he was going to be Kastor-less, Caspian-less and semi-Bayne-less for the evening.

"Good job I've got this pirating and smuggling thing down to a fine art then, huh?" He whispered harshly to Macy with a good humoured grin, pushing a bottle at him, "No wine, mister! You need something that puts hair on your chest and not on yer tail.. Or head.. You've already got plenty there.. And after a few, I think you'll find it to be enjoyable indeed! You'll be too off your face to realise you didn't like it to begin with" He assured the unigon, with a friendly slap on the back.. Not that it was that much of a slap.. He almost didn;t seem to notice the knock to his head..
Being the massive hypocrite that he was, he had probably consumed a bottle of wine before he had decided what a good idea the party would be.. He did love a good strong red.

The other elf raised his hand meekly in greeting to their old friend Macy, "Estelle isn't going to jump out of somewhere and hit me again, is she?" He asked with paranoid little glance around the nearby vicinity.

Nathan gave happy little grr sounds in reply to his sisters protest. It wasn't his fault his sister was wearing something that was keeping her legs from moving. And he was winning. He gave a playful sound and churned his legs faster.

Illy looked at the children, giving a small smile. "They are having so much fun together though. I'm sure they will be quite upset love if you seperate them." He glanced over nodding. "Mmm, I should have took the flask father kept trying to push on me. He said I would need it." He grumbled under breath pushing a strand of his hair back.

He smiled at Nade, a sort of apology for getting in Macy's face. But the unigon had started it...and that was his mate damn it.
