Jaella gently unwound the girl's arms from around her neck. "I'd love to play, but I'm on an errand." she said, nodding. "And I'm doing a good job on it, too." This shopping thing was easier than she thought. She then looked to Sammi, shaking her head. "I'm fine, now. So no burning people. And she's not a meanie; she pretty nice."
She glanced over to Syrelia, holding her arms out. "I can hold them for you if you want." she offered, trying to be helpful. "I wouldn't mind." Hey, it'd give her a chance to see the new little ones up close, so of course she wouldn't mind!

Reiya frowned slightly, her cloud faded. "Wan pway..." She whined. "Dey pway?" She asked, pointing to the babies. "Dey boys." She made a face. Boys weren't good. She had brothers, and they were boys. Boys were noisy and--they didn't play right. But maybe she could teach them how to play like girls.
Sammi shook her head at Jaella. Of course she was a meanie, and if she wasn't nice, Sammi would burn her. "She Meanie. Yell at my Kitty... Is Meanie." She pointed to Syrelia again, to make sure the witch didn't forget her nickname. "Hi Meanie!" She waved, testing it out.

Syrelia debated with herself for a moment before forfeiting at least one of her twins-- Noah. She carefully slid the chubby, blond-haired baby into Jaella's arms and he looked up at her through bleary, grey eyes before shutting them again with a yawn, exposing his gums and little tongue.
The witch raised her eyebrows at Sammi and smirked. "Hello, Tiny," she replied cheerfully, obviously indicating the girl's small stature. "You have quite the vocabulary on you, don't you?"

Sammi blinked at Syrelia. She'd never thought she'd have a nickname, too. But Tiny wasn't one she especially liked, and she gave the best nicknames ever, anyway. "I not Tiny." She retorted. "I Sammi!"
She didn't know what the word vocabulary meant, so she ignored it completely. As long as it meant something good, she wouldn't have to burn her. "'Ug, Meanie?" She reached for the witch. "'Ug?"

"I dunno, Rei-Rei." Jaella said, shrugging. She looked at at the baby she was handed, a small smile spreading across her face. "Hey there, Noah..." she said gently, giving the sleepy baby a gentle hug. It still amazed her sometimes how small babies were.

At the sound of Jaella's voice, Noah shifted in her arms and waved a pudgy fist, flailing it slowly through the air. Hey, look! An arm, he can move it! It was probably one of the more exciting things that the baby had done since being born and, even more exciting, from the cart rose an object very slowly, almost as if moving with Noah's hand.
Syrelia was obviously to what one of her sons was doing, leaning over and giving little Sammi a one armed hug. "You're tiny now, but soon you'll be big," the witch chuckled. Gavin, still perched in the crook of Sy's arm, was staring wide-eyed at Sammi, blowing bubbles at her and being marvelously fascinated by the whole ordeal.

"Not tiny." Sammi argued. "You tiny, Meanie." Hmpf, calling her names. She wasn't tiny! The infant looked to Gavin for a moment, before sticking her tongue at him. "He Tiny." She pointed to the boy to make her point. "He Tiny. Kay, Tiny?" She asked, looking to the newborn. "Like ooor name?"
Reiya frowned, and looked to the baby in Jaella's arms. Suddenly, a white cloud rose up to the baby. "'Or baby." The infant said, with the wisest nod she could give. "Pwesent."

Jaella smiled and giggled, though promptly fell silent as she saw the amazing floating object. Whoa....how was it moving like that? She didn't quite make the connection between the baby's arm movements and the object's, so to her, it was moving on it's own. "Whoa...." she said, her gaze locked on it as her eyes widened in awe and amazement.

Lily was on the same page as Jaella, having finally returned with the cart (there had been a pile-up in aisle three, these things happened, okay), and staring at the floating object. Having grown up in a magical household for the past couple of years, she was a lot quicker to piece it all together. "Mom?"
"Yeah, hon -- HELLO THERE," Syrelia ducked as the object -- a rubber ducky -- went whizzing toward her head while trying to reach Reiya, then getting flattened into, literally, a pancake on the linoleum floor of the baby store. "Well okay."
Noah cooed in delight over what he had done and reached out for the cloud that Reiya had sent over to him, pleased with the gift. Gavin just stared happily at Sammi uncomprehendingly, beginning to drool everywhere. Babies. Ew.

Thali was also quick to pick up what Noah had done. "Gravity." She muttered, almost to herself. She smiled at Gavin, and then at Noah. She hadn't yet seen Gavin's ability, and silently wondered what he coud do.
Reiya seemed delighted that Noah liked his present. "Is pet cwoud." She told him, pointing to the little white cloud. "For ooo." She demonstrated petting an invisible dog, or something. "Wike dat."
Sammi shook her head at Gavin. "Icky." She said."Dat ooor name, not Tiny. You Icky. Ooor brudder be Tiny." She nodded as wisely as she could, though she'd made a mistake in their nicknames at first. She pointed to Gavin. "He Icky."

Jaella was amazed. "Wow....that was totally awesome!" she said, and would have clapped her hands if they hadn't been preoccupied with holding the baby. She then looked at Sammi, shaking her head.
"Sammi....it's not nice to call someone icky." she said, a smile still playing across her face.

"Nah, I think calling him Icky in this case is apt," Syrelia laughed and dug around in her bag to produce a cloth which she used to help stem the tidal wave of drool. She filed away the information about gravity and her other son for later, intending to perhaps invest in a couple of baby harnesses (if one of the boys floated away, that would be difficult to explain to the family).
"So, um..." The witch looked from both Jaella and Thali, shuffling a little. "You both wanna help me shop?"

Sammi stuck her tongue out at Jaella before blowing a rather long, and rude rasberry. "Is Icky." She pointed to Gavin. "Not a Kitty." She pointed to Jaella to prove her point. Yes, Gavin was certainly not a Kitty, because Kitties weren't Icky.
It was the rule. Obviously.

Lily laughed and Syrelia looked down at the infant in her arms. Nope. He didn't sprout kitty features in the last few minutes so Sammi was right on the money -- he was not a kitty. "Well, uh. You certainly know your stuff, Miss Sammi."

Sammi nodded, seemingly pleased with the compliment. "Icky no Kitty, buh Kitty is." She pointed to Jaella. "Jae-ella my Kitty." She explained as well as she could.
Thali looked at Syrelia and nodded. "Sure, I'd be glad to help." She said with a smile. "Oh, it's because of Jae's ears." She muttered. "I told Sammi that kitties had pointed ears so--everyone with them, including myself and Reiya have become 'Kitties'." The young elf rolled her eyes.
