The whole process has been painfully easy, he mentally concluded, shifting a stiff wing with a slight grunt. Although he was looking for underlings he could have an intellectual conversation with, perhaps for hours at a time, something about the pretty face made him want to exercise his manipulating skills more than prod him for a conversation. Thus far he had had little luck in the former, as all of his subtle attempts at intimidation had led nowhere. The stallion was either fearless or completely clueless about kalonas.
This, of course, only piqued his interest more. A fresh mind, so to speak, would be so much easier to change. Although, with the way the male gave himself up, he felt he wouldn't have had much of a struggle either way.
It would probably be a while before he finally retired for the night; he knew it was important for him to get sufficient sleep, particularly with how early he had been getting up the past few days, but it had been difficult as it was. Now his excitement would keep him awake for hours.
Snorting, he flicked his tail out in a fluid, yet sharp motion, a light 'crack' following it. He couldn't help but find the naive Lucifer delightfully fun, and cast him a look through the corner of his eye as he considered their coming days together. There would be more, of course, but for a time, it would be just the two of them.
"Got any plans for the night?" he asked, giving the grass a light stamp. "Aside from sleeping." By now, a dark cloud had begun to cross under the moon, shedding its shadow over the meadow in which they stood. He lifted his head for a moment, to watch the cloud slowly ebb across the sky, then dropped his piercing gaze to Lucifer.
"If not, want to have a bit of fun?" he asked, his tone low and dark.

Lucifer thought about it. "No, I don't have plans." Lucifer was so excited at this point, he was being flat-out careless to leave with a Kalona, but he seemed different, and honestly, Lucifer knew he had no reason to be scared, unless he gave Viraj a reason to scare him.
Lucifer smiled a playful smirk, an almost mischievious look came over him. "What did you have in mind?" He swished his tail, the one giant curl swung from one side to another like a mace, then settled itself behind Lucifer with a thud.

His approval manifested itself into a smirk, darkening his features a bit. Allowing his wings to spread outward, making them seem larger as dark masses against the red sky, he brought himself up to his greatest height and replied, "Come with me."
He wasn't above dragging a well-mannered soquili into some trouble, but with his large form and maturity, he silently assured Lucifer's protection. Before anything reached the stallion, it would have to go through Viraj.
Turning, he began to make his way toward the blackened forest, folding his wings against his sides so they wouldn't snag against the surrounding trees. He took a moment to glance over his shoulder, adding, "You will find out." His smirk widened as he disappeared into the darkness.

Lucifer followed, a slight hint of curiousity in his step. "I'll find out? This should be interesting..." Lucifer chuckled, the darkness surrounding him was only disrupting by a flash of purple every so often.
Lucifer noted the stallion was considerably larger then himself, Lucifer knew in the dark forest, there was no going back now. "So, do you take just any old person with you on late night shenanigans? or is it just me?" A tad bit of humor ran through his tone of voice, an unusual change from Lucifer's usual monotone self.

Snapping stray, spindly twigs with outstretched wings, Viraj humored Lucifer's tone with a smirk, a low laugh. He was playing into a routine unfamiliar to himself, yet he didn't bother to try to do otherwise.
"Will it hurt you if I tell you you aren't the first?" he asked coolly, ducking his head to avoid colliding with a branch. The forest was dense and overgrown, the foliage threatening to snag into his mane and tangle, but that was why he was in front - to carve a path for the prettier one behind him. In spite of his heritage, he knew a thing or two about manners.
Recalling his bout with Kerberos, his shoulders shook in an almost bitter laugh. His shoulder was still a bit sore from the encounter, but it had healed nicely. He wondered, vaguely, if the boy's wing was doing any better.
"I wouldn't say I'd take just anyone out on the night, but..." He shrugged a shoulder, tone dismissive. "I wouldn't pass up a good time simply on discrimination, either."

Lucifer chuckled to himself. "Well , what makes me not some other random stallion out there?" He ducked his head, bobbing and weaving through whatever branched Viraj's wings didn't manage to snap. "Besides my hair, which I thank my mother for, there's nothing special about me..."
He managed to trip ,getting up right away and catching up to Viraj, almost as if it hadn't happened at all.

He halted.
The forest seemed darker and, if possible, more foreboding, as the red sky loomed overhead, nearly completely drowned out by the black forest. The forest sucked it all in, all of it; the light, the animals, and... sound. It was quiet. He didn't seem bothered by it.
Turning, he cast a calm eye to Lucifer, a smirk curling his lip.
"What is your worth?"
He let the question fall into the air. It may have seemed a bit out of the blue, but still he remained still, looking back and studying the stallion, searching his eyes for signs of an answer. Then, before waiting, he added quietly, "And how do you judge one's worth?"
Beat the hell out of him.

Lucifer noted silence, and halted as well. "My worth?" Lucifer thought for a second, he hadn't thought about his worth, nothing came to mind. He had nothing, no wings, no horns, no fins... nothing.
"I will not lie, Viraj... I am as plain as it gets, I have no horns , and i did not inherent my father's wings, I do not run with wolves or cats as the skin walkers do, and I have no fins. But i will say this, I have a mind. A pretty strong one, A mind I am willing to use and make sure anyone in my way shatters into pieces, without me getting my hands dirty." Lucifer's tone was as serious as ever. "I've never had to defend myself, my father seemed to always appear at the right times, and my mother's attitude could probably fight back a skin walker, I've been babied into what I am today... A defenseless stallion, in a world with cruel and unusual beings."
"What i'm trying to say is, I'm not worth much, not at all." He pondered the next question carefully, almost as if expecting to fall into a sort of trap. " I do not know , Viraj, you tell me.."

"Worth," he cut in once Lucifer's voice had tapered off almost completely. "Is not judged by... something as simple as appearance, or... even ability."
He was amused by the sudden change in the stallion's personality. It was interesting to see how one could change, given the proper circumstances and, perhaps, voice to coax it out. Immediately pleased by Lucifer's words, he took them in with silent approval, knowing he had found a diamond among the rough.
Turning to face forward again, he continued. "Through my life and experiences, I have learned something definite. Judging one's worth is not a simple task, yet, it is not something incredibly difficult, either." Enjoying the maze he was creating with his words, he went on, tail flicking back to lash gently at Lucifer's legs.
"Through our experiences, and through what we create of ourselves in others... that is our worth. If we have nothing, no past, no experiences, we are worthless." His voice grew quiet. "If we have no one to find worth in, to depend on us and in turn, depend on, then we are worthless."
Eyes fixated on the dark path before him, he asked, "Do you understand?"

Lucifer listened carefully. "I do understand, I suppose." He hadn't ever thought of life in that way, to him, worth was something physical, and nothing more...
"But still, I have never had someone who depended on me...It's strange, i've never had friends, you see, I've never wanted them, i've always wanted...something more then a friend." His voice trailed off into confusion. "We've been over this before, the whole lonely thing, it relates to this all, though." He chuckled, he knew he was making a fool of himself.

The poor thing. He could practically taste the loneliness as it radiated off of Lucifer; looking back, he could see it all over him, too. In his eyes, in the way he carried himself, could hear it in his voice...
Really, he was beginning to remind him more and more of himself, and that wasn't exactly a good thing. After all, wasn't he really getting his band of merry men together so that someone would finally depend on him? So he wouldn't be alone?
Admitting it tasted bad in his mouth, even though he hadn't spoken his mind yet. And he never would. No one could know of his weakness. He'd already been given the reputation of being the softest kalona around, it seemed, and he certainly didn't plan on making that worse if he could help it. Ugh, foals.
"More than that..." He dipped his head, eyes half-lidded and staring at the ground. "Like a lover?"

Lucifer tried to speak, but his words were choked by shock, "I... I don't know. I mean," In his mind , his inner voice yelled to stop lying to himself and Viraj, they both knew damn well is what he wanted, but Lucifer refused to admit it, that the loneliness in his heart wasn't because he couldn't make friends, it's because... He was missing his other half. Poor Viraj, though. having to suffer lucifer's emotions shift constantly.
"Actually, that's exactly what i meant..." He finally admitted, his tone of voice reaching barely a whisper as the words rolled off his tongue.

Finally, Viraj turned around, although the action had to be performed carefully in their restricting surroundings. He already knew he was right, before having Lucifer confirm his suspicions; it was so obvious, and a bit surprising that the kid had no idea until now. Or, rather, he probably knew all along, deep down.
He did not have to strain his ears at all to hear Lucifer. Not in the dead of night, something he should have seen as a bit eerie, but somehow, he was too distracted to worry about it. Tone devoid of any indication that he was currently... captivated, for lack of a better word, by the stallion, he murmured, "That is what many, many others seek. It is no surprise."
He, personally, had never found himself seeking out a mate, in all his years. None of the mares had ever appealed to him enough to be considered more than a one-night stand, and he had yet to find anyone who was intriguing enough to truly draw him in. Yet, he'd watch all around him as others paired off and settled down, and had never really thought anything of it. Love... his other half... as far as he was concerned, if his other half truly existed... they would find him.

Lucifer didn't know what to say. He knew he wasn't like other stallions, he had no interest physically with a mare, and he knew it'd take a lot for him to love them emotionally too. "Many of those who search, actually find there significant other. In all of my travels, i have barely even made friends, how am i supposed to find another stallion like me, and on top of that... How will i even know if he'll love me?" Lucifer looked at Viraj. "Haven't you ever wanted a mate? Someone to keep you company?"

His ear flicked toward Lucifer, and although his expression didn't change, he was a bit surprised to hear the other's choice of words. Another stallion like me... Well, that explained everything. He'd had his suspicions, simply by watching the way he moved and listening to the way he spoke, but he hadn't thought of it hard enough to really draw any conclusions.
Well, not that it made any real difference to him. He'd met homosexual stallions and mares before, and they'd turned out to be some of the most intriguing individuals he'd come across. Giving his tail a light swish, he became all the more interested in Lucifer.
"Oh, I want someone to keep me company..." he mused, running his tongue absently over his teeth. "Many someones. I have never had the desire to settle down with a mate, and I doubt anyone has ever had the desire to do so with me. It's just the way things are."
Wanting to continue on, but not wanting to discourage Lucifer from talking, he moved until he was standing next to the stallion, their shoulders nearly bumping.
"Come, we will walk and talk again. There is something I would like to show you." Beginning on his way, he made sure Lucifer matched his pace. It would be dawn soon, and although he was a bit surprised with himself for staying up the entire night, he wouldn't dwell on it.
Shaking his head, he went on. "I look for others who meet certain requirements, to be in my company. One, they have a good head on their shoulders, are able to think for themselves. I do get bored with idiots rather quickly. Two," he cast a glance to Lucifer. "They will follow me and answer to my every whim. The two may sound like they contradict each other, but it is actually quite the contrary. You can have your mindless foot soldiers, or you can have the loyal guard who sits beneath you, is loyal to no end, and yet, you can have the most amazing conversation with him. That is what I want."
