Both Setsushi and Rika seem surprised, not offended, at this question.

...Setsushi assumes that is up to Kouyo, as it will be his own house -- the key is his to do with as he wishes.

Rika, meanwhile, informs him: "It is sparsely furnished at present, as I imagined you would like to choose the configuration yourself. But several friends have already come by with gifts for you..."

"A-alright," Kouyo replies, sounding greatly relieved in spite of his voice and hands still shaking slightly.

After a few moments, he slumps down in his seat again, burying his face in his hands as he tries to relocate his cheerful energy from before. The priest manages a faint smile when he raises his head again, and says softly, "Well, this little bird does have a few pieces of furniture to bring back from the other Silver World. So I guess he has a place to put them now....

"What gifts, though, and from whom?" he then asks, brow furrowing a little in confusion.

Setsushi seems very concerned at Kouyo's reaction, but he neither inquires nor reaches out to comfort him -- he silently glances, worried, between the High Priest and the princess. When Kouyo looks up again, though, he tries to smile, and answers, "A young tree from Madame Chourou and her daughter. And, ah..."

He pauses, then continues, "A bookshelf delivered by Kumoru and Lucretia. Rika checked it, but did not find any magic," though Kouyo should probably look them over himself as well; he is a greater mage than all of them, by far.

Setsushi looks to Rika for confirmation... but she has already circled around the table and moved towards the screen, standing on tiptoe to reach a chain that hangs down from the ladder currently folded up against the ceiling, to open the trapdoor.

"Oh, the books from Master Whitestone," Kouyo confirms with a nod; he had nearly forgotten about those, even though he had taken a few from the box before he left to read in the other Silver World. "I will check them," though he dearly hopes neither of the humans would have put any dangerous spells into his books.

The tree comes as a pleasant surprise, though, and he smiles a bit more genuinely as he tells Setsushi, "This little bird will have to plant his tree, then, along with the flowers and plants he got while away. Hopefully they will remind us all of home...."

Kouyo trails off, and follows Setsushi's gaze to Rika, and the trapdoor in the ceiling.

It would be nice, Setsushi thinks with a soft smile; "I believe the plans for the shrine are quite small, so there will be quite a yard to fill there, too. Perhaps we will have to go back to get more seeds..."

He looks at Rika again, as if to get confirmation, but she simply gazes back stonily at the two men before pulling the ladder all the way down and beginning to climb it up to her room.

... Uh. sweatdrop

Kouyo folds his hands in his lap and peers down at his fingers as the Imperial Princess retreats upstairs, but nods in response to Setsushi. "Maybe I can ask Renka to buy some for us when I fetch the rest of my belongings from him, and then send the seeds and plants home with Tetsuhi...."

"We may also be able to get suitable seeds in Gaia," Setsushi says, seeming to be eager to resume the conversation. Though, "In any case, I imagine your garden will keep you quite busy..."

... Oh.

Actually...

"Rika says," Setsushi says, in a soft tone of voice as if the topic is something to keep hush about, "her corridor to the real Empire may be open soon."

The priest visibly relaxes once Rika is upstairs, and leans forward where he sits to reach for Setsushi's sleeves. And he brightens more as he realizes that having a home of his own also means he will have space to house Renka, so his dear friend will be able to see Gaia. He will pass that news along to him, as well, when he fetches the folding screen and boxes of books from the other Silver World.

Skinny little Kouyo also bought himself a similarly weak and skinny little bow, too, if Setsushi and Dame Tenkyuu would still like to teach him how to shoot it?

At mention of being able to return to the Golden World, though, Kouyo projects... not an unhappy feeling, but one of uncertainty and worry. Instead of elaborating, though, he asks, "Have many more come here from the Golden World while I was away? I thought I may have seen a few in my dreams of the last year and a half."

Setsushi seems a bit surprised to hear that Renka -- the teacher with whom they were staying, yes? -- might be coming to visit. "Is not the irregular flow of time potentially..." he trails off, still giving off uncertain feelings, but realizing he does not need to finish for surely Kouyo has already thought of this.

"If he does come, I will be happy to cook for him," he says, trying to make the tone bright.

And Setsushi would be happy to teach Kouyo archery... if he can find the time. With another job, he has had very little time to himself as of late. But "Perhaps Dame Tenkyuu would be able; I can ask for you the next time I see her?"

In response to his last question, Setsushi answers, "Quite a few." ... In fact, Setsushi is unsure exactly how many... "When was it that you left again?"

Kouyo glances away, blushing faintly, but nods. "Renka and I have discussed it, and he is aware, but still interested in at least visiting. Whenever he comes, I will house him, then."

Then he looks up at Setsushi again, his warmth and excitement beginning to return. "I will have to cook for you sometime, as well." The priest laughs softly; he has expanded his repertoire far beyond scrambled eggs in the last year and a half.

As for how long he has been gone from Gaia ... Kouyo is not precisely sure, either sweatdrop The weather is warmer, but not by too much? He is also unfamiliar with the exact flow of Gaia's seasons, but if it is like the Golden World, then it has been perhaps a month.

... Ah, speaking of warmer, if Setsushi will excuse him for a moment.... Kouyo stands and turns away, leaving his heavy scholar's coat on the back of the chair for the moment as he unties his sashes long enough to shed a few layers of winter robes. At least Kouyo does not have a whole lot of things to bring back from the other Silver World, so it should not be difficult to locate his proper summer clothing

"And I will be very happy to eat at your kitchen," Setsushi says warmly.

And it is indeed quite warm.
sweatdrop This is the sort of weather that would be perfect for an outing to the shoreline... if only Setsushi weren't so busy.

Well! He places his hands on the table, preparing to stand. He's not so busy, at least, to be able to help Kouyo bring his things in and arrange his house so it is livable. Anything heavy for Setsushi to carry? He worries his muscles will atrophy in this peaceful land...
PostPosted: Sat Jun 20, 2009 9:33 pm

Kouyo ties his sash again over fewer robes so he will be more comfortable, then makes sure his knife in its lacquered sheath is hidden away in the folds of his remaining clothes. Then he drapes the extra robes over the back of his chair, and picks up the jacket to cover his bare arms again if he will be going out again with Setsushi.

And, well, he left his bedframe and table behind in his apartment over in the other Silver World, but the priest still has a few other big things. The rest of his bedding required both him and Renka working together, and they still had to stop and rest once between their residences. And if Setsushi wishes to work up to moving that, Kouyo also has a folding screen that is more awkward than heavy and ... a few boxes of books >>~

He will, of course, help carry things, too. And the two of them should have a fair amount of time to catch up, walking out and back

Kouyo shouldn't use the struggles of a bunch of tiny Porcelain men to gauge the difficulty for Setsushi, the Knight says with a laugh.

As he rises, he wonders if they should head out now or if Kouyo would like to enjoy some tea or a snack first? They could save the tea for afterwards; a fresh pot might be just the thing to warm them up after wandering around in the snow.

The High Priest smiles and laughs softly, then flexes his arms. Setsushi does not know just how much stronger Kouyo has gotten over the last year and a half, though. Perhaps things that the little bird finds challenging now might make Setsushi break a tiny bit of a sweat?

And he reaches out for Setsushi's sleeve, projecting a shy but fond feeling as he reminds the Knight again that he missed him. Perhaps they can go get Kouyo's things now, before he gets too settled in, and it will help them work up an appetite? Unless Setsushi is hungry now? Kouyo hesitantly admits that he is still feeling a little fluttery and nervous and it is affecting his appetite a little, but he will be able to find room for some noodles or whatever Setsushi feels like making soon enough.

Setsushi starts to laugh again -- but then nervously folds his hands when Kouyo reaches for his sleeve, thereby drawing his arm out of the High Priest's reach.

"I would not mind going now," he says, sounding slightly harried, though any negative emotions he may be feeling are not projected; "Rika and I did not eat long ago." If Kouyo likes, though, he could help himself to some fruit and let Setsushi do the work? The Knight has visited Renka before, so he should be able to find his way there himself...
