The lantern shattered. No, that wasn't the right word... as the petals made their grand finale, the lantern sort of exploded outward.
This didn't make matters any better for Rhys. The massive stinging sensation he'd felt was only exacerbated as glass shards from the lantern flew everywhere, including at him. He'd at least had the foresight to raise an arm to cover his eyes at the spell reached its climax--otherwise, he would have been blinded for sure. A number of glass shards smacked into his arm, and Rhys shouted in pain for the glass shrapnel in his hand as well as the fresh cuts about his body, the slashes in his clothes showing where the petals had struck.
It was a good bit of pain all at once, but it was a large area, the spell's harmful power not particularly focused... it wasn't enough to bring him down.
He fell on his back in sheer darkness. He wasn't unconscious, but he knew overpowering magic when he saw it. Screw this... ANYWHERE was better than here!
"RUN!!" he roared, not saying another word. He fled into the trees, keeping a faint Shine light ahead of him to avoid smacking into them.
He was gone.

Octavio felt himself losing his senses. The petals! That's what they're doing... What's going on?! He faintly heard Rhys yell. He backed up, catching Lucius by the arm. "Come on! This is strange magic! We've got to run!" He yelled. He gave him the light tome and led him into the trees after Rhys. The morphs would follow, no doubt about that. Perhaps we could lose the stupid things in the trees... He thought.

Isadora struggled getting her horse to move in the direction she wanted to go. Yet, at the same time, her senses were messed up and it was hard for her to deal with enemies around. Not to mention, blood were dripping out of her.
I got to fight back. Isadora thought as she sliced the morph with her spear. I got to get my senses back.
It was like she was a small child trying to bat the apple from the high branch of the tree blinded. With her and Tuomas' senses screwed, she would be fallen for her enemies.
No! I got to focus!! Isadora thought hard. I just need to concentrate hard.
That was what she needed. Focus and concentration. Her senses may have screwed, but those traits weren't. She just had to train them...... Train them?
That was it!! That was what she had to do. She just had to train these new senses and used them. Just like the blind man who used his ears as his eyes, she just had to train them. But was her horse had the same condition as hers?
"Okay, Tuomas. It's just like the training we had before. We need to focus and concentrate." Isadora told her horse. They needed to be in sync. To be one. If she needed to do what she needed, she and her horse must concentrate. Somehow, it seemed that Tuomas understood what she had said and became calm.
Using her ears and nose as her eyes, Isadora somehow managed to hear the movement of the weapons. Isadora swung her spear that made connection with the sword. She parried the sword and then pierced it through the morph's body.
Got one! Isadora thought as she continued training these new odd senses to battle out the morphs. She was unsure how well Lance was since he had the same physical injuries as hers. However, feeling the beating of the heart behind her, it assured her that he was alive.
When Isadora heard Rhys and Octavio shouted about running, Isadora pulled her reins and tried to follow them. If this was strange magic, then they had to find that person. But since there were petals falling, she had to retreat into the forest. Surely, it will lessen the petals. Focusing her senses and became one with Tuomas, she led her horse into the forest with the magic users while being followed by the morphs.

Rhys just kept running, ignoring the stinging sensations in his hand (among other places on his body). Keep running! It was madness to stay back there!
...For the first time in a while, Rhys was genuinely scared. Sure, he was always scared whenever fighting lest he lose his life, but most of the time he had some shred of confidence they could win. Now? They couldn't possibly repel spellpower of that magnitude!
"Rhys!"
The Bishop slowed down, hearing the voice and feeling a small surge of hope. He knew that voice! Was it... was it really?
"Jin! Jin? Is that you?"
"Yeah. More people coming for our side. You guys hurt? Get back. Get yourselves patched up," Jin's voice rang out.
Rhys could now hear a faint rustling through the trees to his left. Then more and more rustling! Help had arrived, huzzah!
...But he wasn't THAT badly hurt. He just couldn't heal himself because of the glass shards embedded in his hands. Kneeling down on the ground, he grit his teeth and began picking the shards out of his hand. They were thankfully fairly large, so it wouldn't take too long...

"Rhys?" Nino called, coming out from around a tree. "What's going on?! We heard noises.. Saw flashes... You're safe, I'm glad. What happened?" She looked out at where Rhys came from. "Oh God." She said quietly. "Morphs?!"
She had brought a heal staff, borrowed from a friend where they were camping. "I knew they knew where we were, but... Come here, quick." She held up her staff. "Where's yours?"

Leon came charging in first, again remembering how as a member of cavalry, it was his duty to be sure that his forces gained the first strike, and possibly the advantage in battle. He wasn't much for tactics, but he did follow them when it meant a difference of life and death. If the Lieutenant knew anything, it's the explosions were never good.
They meant that something big was near, it couldn't be ignored. There were lives to save, and possibly allies to gain. They needed all the numbers they could get if they were to re-take Eyris. Up ahead, he could see them. Other FEFers! They escaped! One of them was the healer who saved him... Rhys, the Lord of the Host Club. He recognized something too... the golden eyes, the black hair... morphs! More of them, and they looked stronger. Not only that, but one was gunning right for Rhys's back... a Paladin by the looks of it, spear drawn. "Look out!" the watchman called. Shortly after, he made Anri rush forward, and he sliced the oncoming Paladin with a silver Lance, breaking both spear and armor in one slice. "Rhys, we be 'ere to help ya! Are ya a'right?"
Sue in the meantime sped up alongside Isadora, their horses in a 'back to back' fashion. With her Killing Edge, she'd sliced through quite a few on just her speed alone. "Isadora... I knew you'd survived. There are others who've come to aid us... others who can still fight. We will pull through this."
With that vow, Andre and Isadora's steed went off in opposite directions, Sue using her unique nomadic speed to slice through everything with ease. Morphs were nothing to her now... she'd fought them so many times before.

Isadora was still not getting used to these odd senses. With her ears and nose in the battlefield, it was helpful of her to see well. But to retreat in the forest was hard for her. She had to listen to where Rhys and the others went for her to be her guide.
Soon, she heard another voice. Isadora thanked the person who spoke to her as she began to slow down. It seemed that they had run into their comrades. Isadora slowed down Tuomas as she was in front of the person before her. She wasn't sure who it was. She still needed her senses to be fixed.
"This fellow and I need some healing." Isadora announced as she untied her cape and let Lance slided down from her horse. From all the group who battled, she and Lance came out worse. "In addition, I need someone to fix my senses. These purple petals that felt had messed up my senses."

The marching of the foot echoed through the forest. Hundreds of morphs raced between the woods, looking for the captives. Their orders were to kill the captives. Those who stood in their way would be kill also. They followed to where the captives ran.... Only to run into the reinforcements of their troop.

Nino shifted her gaze from Rhys to Isadora. "Ah! Your senses? What.. I don't understand... Isadora, I'm so glad you're here! Come here, if you're hurt I have a heal staff..." She noticed Isadora's horse had returned to her. She walked over and looked at Lance. "Who... Who is this?"
She blinked. "Um.. I really can help, but I don't know about your senses. I might not be able to do anything about that..."
She looked up. "They're coming! Come here and let me heal you, we have to hurry! ... Are we going to fight or not?!" Nino brought out an elfire tome. "I forgot fimbulvetr in my room at the castle before I left. I really wish I'd have brought it but it's kind of heavy... "

•I bear the seed of ruin… •A golden age turned to stone… вєαѕтмιѕтяєѕѕ єѴєℓYη Sometimes I wonder why they need me at all! … For this, a tragic journey• … A vision of a dying embrace• Oh, poo, they were trying to run, what a bother. Evelyn wasn’t much of a fan of having her victims try to run, but Triumph sure was. There was no way she would let them get away so easily though, after all where was the fun in that. Oh, but the terror that filled their eyes when she caught up to them was just simply wonderful. What with their shrieks of fear and their paled faces, Evelyn loved it all! The best part though was when their blood drenched their clothing and seeped into the ground. The scent of death and life, it just made her all giddy inside and sent Triumph into fits of glee.
”Oh, cookies, cookies, don’t run away. We just want to eat you up~” With the flick of her wrist she ordered the morphs to begin the pursuit as she too began to chase after them. The morphs might have been slowed due to the more confined conditions the forest presented, but it offered little trouble for Triumph. The Gwyllgi could conquer any terrain, no matter how troublesome it proved for normal creatures. ”Evelyn, I smell people coming… a lot of them,” the monster announced to his partner as he slowed his run slightly. The information made Evelyn hiss as her mouth bended into a frown.
”Time for more fireworks then,” she said as the frown disappeared in favor of a smile. Oh, she really did just love her job to pieces. Especially when she got to turn her victims into pieces! ”Don’t worry, Triumph, I’ll make them easier to eat for you.” A snap of the fingers later and more of the petals appeared around her. They hovered in to air until she lazily pointed forward. They started then to weave their way through the trees, like an angry gang of bees, who had just had their hive knocked down. ”Slice and dice, my pretties~”
Naturally controlling the magic over the large area and having it attack was no small task. It required a large amount of concentration and because of this was weaker than if it had been centered on a single target. Had Evelyn not been a mounted unit, the task would be impossible and leave her too vulnerable. Because of Triumph though, she could fully concentrate on the task and leave dodging any pests to him.

"He doesn't look good..." Sue whispered as she took an elixir off her belt and poured it into Lance's mouth. She hadn't even noticed how much his features resembled a morph, she was more concerned on how bad shape he was in. "As long as he stays behind us, we can keep him safe. We must protect him and the others..." The nomad hardly noticed the petals, as she hadn't felt their effects. Not yet anyhow.
Leon in the meantime had joy in putting his axe to the backs of many morphs as Anri made his mighty charge through their ranks. It felt good to fight again, sure, but it felt even better to be delivering payback to the ones responsible for his exile. He wasn't meant to be away from Eyris. That was his homeland now, and he wanted it back. I ain't gonna stop choppin' 'em 'til they stop movin'. Suddenly Leon too noticed the petals, and hadn't a clue of their powers...

"Nino! Thank goodness," Rhys said, as much relieved that help had come as that Nino's arrival meant FEF was said help. "Hang on! I just need to get this last... small shard out... wahh!"
He ducked to one side as Leon's horse ran past him. He heard a loud sound a moment later, and as he turned, a morph fell to the ground, its horse running off into the forest.
"...Got it! Thank you, Leon," Rhys said, smiling up at the horse Lord. "I get so focused on one thing, I swear..."
"And my staff...? Oh! Shoot, I must've dropped it when that spell went off," he added, looking back into the trees. "Be careful! If you see purple petals, DON'T touch them!"

"There's a magic user." Isadora responded as she got off her horse. Her arms and legs are losing strength due to blood loss. "I don't know what type the magic user is. However, that person casted a strange spell. Purple petals...... Touch them and they screw your senses. Mixed them around. Not only that, but they would cut you up and exploded."
When she heard Nino asked the person's identity, Isadora figure she must be talking about Lance. She didn't need to use her senses what she was referring to. "Lance Dantel, a morph. Don't worry, he's on our side."
She needed to get healed and get her senses back. How else would she be able to help her comrades?

Nino moved to Rhys. "Ouch." She said as she looked at the wound. She winced. She then motioned for Isadora to come closer. She began to heal Rhys' hand. "This should do it... Purple petals? I haven't heard of a spell like that..." Once she had finished she moved on to Isadora. "Were there any others in the mansion?" She asked as she quickly started healing Isadora's wounds. "And um.. Your sight. Is it getting any better at all?"

"Be careful! If you see purple petals, DON'T touch them!"
"Now ya be tellin' me?!" Leon suddenly shouted, as he found himself and Anri dodging tiny objects at a frantic speed. All the while he was still axing morphs until he made his way back to Sue, Rhys, Isadora, Nino and and the unconscious Lance. He recognized the thief-morph from the Ring Quest, as the one he mistakened for a scientific researcher. Anyway, now he was out of range... for now.
Use terrain to my advantage. That was one of Sue's first thoughts as she noticed more morphs heading her way. She hid behind a tree, and fired an arrow at an oncoming sage. She was already prepared for another after seeing the Morph magic user fall from an arrow to the head.
