"Us candidates indeed, they must expect the women here trim their leg bones at night, since my bunk is a good few handspans shorter then it should be." Alle said, her tone shifting to one of irritated patience. "My father is a woodsmith, so I've got to say I find the situation near untenable. Surely there is someone around who takes a measuring stick to things!" She continued, surprising herself with the double meaning there. Measuring sticks indeed, if only someone would bother to count the number of heads crowded in at dinner!
"Can't say I am sad that Lemos is as far away as it is, though I don't mind the heat too much when it isn't dripping down my back." She went on, looking ahead at the approaching doors to the Lower Caverns. "The heat here is positively oppressive, I'm surprised the dragons enjoy it as much as they do." She added, motioning with a wave the Heights littered with basking dragon bodies before reaching the door and pulling it open.
"After you."

"Lemos is where a lot of the wood comes from, right? Are the trees of Ista the same as there?" Jessan nodded his thanks and stepped down. Immediately the slight cool of the Caverns hit them. "Much better, this season seems to be unusually warm but there have been many flash storms as well. I hope we get one soon that actually cools things off."
The place was packed! Jessan moved quickly to grab two seats next to each other. Pulling one out, he motioned her over and then sat down. It smelled like spiced fish cakes and fresh bread. Yum! "Have you thought about asking for any extra planks of wood to extend your bed out or maybe swap it out with someone else?"
