Scratching his head a little, the bear boy tried to think up why on earth they would need so many berries, seeing as he hadn't completely grasped the concept that they were paying for this. At seeing most of the families about, the boy slowly retreated to stand nearer and nearer to his sister till he could reach up and take her hand. The boy wasn't quite comfortable with being in this place without a firm hold on his family members, most particularly the nearest thing to a grownup.
"Lotsa people." he mumbled quietly.

Anao squeezed Kodi's hand reassuringly " It's ok Kodi, we're gonna pick a nice empty part of a field to go to and pick berries alright?" There was plenty of fields with more than enough rows of strawberry plants to choose from, it wouldn't be too hard to get a spot to themselves.
Kuschel bounced from foot to foot picking berries was gonna be fun and then they could eat them. Maybe he and Kodi and Jade could see who could pick the most. Anao didn't get to compete though cause she was bigger and it wasn't fair.
Jade just moved to take Kodi's other hand, the strawberry blonde suddenly wishing he'd brought his hat along. It was very sunny today.

Kodiak smiled up at his sister, and then over at his brothers. It would be okay, they were going to an emptier patch and he was with family. He could this. With a slightly more determined smile, the boy nodded. "Kay, let's go."

Anao led the group over to the pay stall, forked over some cash then carefully walked them through the crowd to a row at the end of one of the field. " Ok you each get one basket" she explained handing each boy his own long cardboard container. " You can fill it as much as you want but don't put so many they fall out when you walk" the girl advised " and we can stop whenever you guys get tired"
" Can we eat them too" Jade asked curiously bouncing his tail in the dirt.
Anao nodded, the fee to pick your own took into account the amount of berries like to to get eaten during picking. " Yep, You and i will work on one side of this row and Kodi and Kuschel you two work on the other side,'t Stawberries didn't grow very high so it'd be easy for everyone to see each other and keep talking.
The pink purred bunny boy looked over at his brother " You want me to help you or race you?" Kodi didn't have the best hands for berry picking what with his claws but kuschel had short pudgy fingers that weren't over good for delicate jobs either, both managed, neither excelled.

Jade was happily plucking berries from the bush and every four or so would end up in the strawberry's blonde's mouth, surely it wouldn't spoil his appetite for more of them later.
Kuchel reached to to hold the bush itself, if it didn't lean with the pulls the berry should come off easier and not get squished or anything. The Pink furred boy's hands might not yet be good for delicate jobs but holding things he could manage. He smiled at his brother " I bet Connor would eat all the berries ans not pick any." He loved his sister but the gator girl was a bit intimidating and everything did seem to go into her mouth, though when it came to eating usually it was his father who did the most of that.
Anao grinned as she watched the boys, the redhead was carefully examining the berries and picking the best looking ones she could find. besides what she would share with the rest of the family the young woman hoped to pick enough that she could secure a bowl or two to share privately with Jake

The brown furred child blinked at his brother before nodding a bit. "Would put the whole bush in her mouth." he commented, attempting to try and draw some of the berries out with the barest tips of his claws. He managed to get a few, though every now and then his claws punctured the prize. He gave the ones like that to Kuschel, seeing as they were still good to eat, even if they were a bit mutilated.
"Need to pick extra for Papa, don't we?" the child inquired, thinking on how much Pyran ate and how they'd have to get extra to be able to feed him some too. "And Mama, and Daddy."

Kuschel nodded mouth currently full for a strawberry the pink furred child thinking their whole basket might have to be for the grown ups. "Mmhm but sokay cause it's nice here." The farm smelled of warm earth and berries and it was sort of pretty with rows and rows of plants. Maybe they should move to a berry farm.
Anao was glad the twins and Jade seemed to be having fun, it was good for them to be out of the house and enjoying the summer and she imagined her parents were greatful for a few hours of quiet time.

The brown furred boy was at least content with the farm. It wasn't the place he'd like to be most - he'd rather be snuggled up with his family somewhere - but berries were nice and this place was at least nice, warm and comfortable.
After a bit, the boy tried to eat one of the berries he pulled out of the bush, but only succeeded in smashing himself in the nose with his claws as he did. The boy pouted and tried again, this time getting his mouth but also getting berry gunk all around the sides. "Messy."

Anao giggled a little at that " Well yes they can be but that's ok, boys are supposed to get messy."
Kuschel just smiled and hugged Kodi " Sokay messy means baths later" Baths meant bubbles and playing with sponge toys and all sorts of fun.

Kodi tried to wipe his claws off on his clothes before hugging his brother back. Nasty sticky juice needed to not stick to them. It was gross and Kusch's fur would get all yucky and then he'd get mad.
After their hug, the brown boy went back to pulling berries for their parents. "Maybe it should be for the grownups. We can eat our own." he said with a nod, "Mama might even make us a cake or a pie with them."

Ooh pie, Kuschel liked the sound of that. " Kay" he was content to eat his fill of berries now and maybe have more as dessert later.
Jade had his eyes closed as he slowly devoured a strawberry as if trying to imprint the memory of it's taste and texture into his brain.
The bunny boy poked Kodi gently and then pointed at Jade trying not to giggle. The other boy was so weird sometimes.

The brown child glanced at his other brother, cocking his head to the side. What was so special about that? Really, the weirdness of how Jade ate strawberries wasn't half as weird as how their parents talked when feeding each other or snuggling.
Shrugging, Kodi went back to his berry picking. "How're you doing, Anao?" he inquired, looking up at his big sister now and then in an attempt to be friendly.

" Pretty good I think I may actually get a full basket" she smiled over at her little brother" Well if I don;t melt first." Really you'd think crouching and just picking berries off a plant wouldn't be that exhausting even in the summer sun but it seemed it was for the redhead. At least she was efficient in her berry picking.
Kuschel just giggled softly anyways then turned his attention back to trying to get the ripe strawberries off the pant without exploding them.

Kodi smiled and returned to being half hidden under the bush. He was finding that it at least blocked the sun a bit though he was overheating rather fast. At least Kuschel's ears cooled him down some.
Slowly the boy put some more berries into the basket. "Can we break soon, 'Nao? S'hot." he mumbled.
