Blood? A small wound on her cheek... Probably some bruises on her body. However, bruises and cuts were nothing; she spent her foalhood scaling the mountain to visit her mentor's family, and spent most of her time training on the plateau in the middle. Being born in the lowlands, she had injured herself while doing both, not used to the thinner air and steeper slopes; enduring pain was someone a warrior had to learn through experience, after all. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!
Back-tracking, the young mare kept her eyes on her target - Selena. She was weaker and just a tad slower than some of the stallions she had sparred with under the watchful eye of her mentors... Then again, she had never won a single match, being rather new and inexperienced. However, her untrained eye could tell that in her current state, she was no match for the other mare when it came to speed.
She adopted her offensive stance again, her muscles tensed as she readied herself to strike a second time.

Selena laughed silently. This young mare was much tougher than Selena had first expected her to be. Selena was excited. Maybe it was the fact that she was sparing finally. She had been dieing to spare with her mate ever since she met him, but he was not one to fight. Or maybe it was just the adrenaline. What ever the reason, Selena was going to give her very best in this fight.
Her legs were already tensed, they were more ready than she was. She moved her back hoof ever so slightly, feeling her surroundings. One must always know what they are dealing with. At times it is not the opponent that is the cause of defeat. It is your own lack of knowledge about the landscape and all the opportunities that are waiting to arise. A lesson Selena taught herself. A Golden Rule.
She stopped her hoof. She knew her surrounding. In front, to the left and right, and even behind. She could close her eyes and an even clearer picture of what lay before her would appear behind her eyelids.
She shifted quickly to the right, leaving dust in the air. She was in the mare's blind spot, she charged forward. Powering her attack with the hard, tensed muscles in her back legs.

{This is turning into quite the god-modding fight... Landing a hit on an opponent in any way (grazing Brioso's back), and a blind spot that is there when Brioso's eyes and body never left Selena? Of course, its true that you tried to make it as fair as possible, and I really appreciate that. <3
So, to make sure that the spar will end fairly despite our posts, I propose a simple rolling for hit-and-miss. For example, roll 1 10-sided die - even number means a miss, and a odd number means a hit. The higher the number for a hit, the more the damage. So, if you see me roll an even number, your next RP post will be something like "Brioso missed Selena". If you see me roll an odd number (for example the lowest 1), your next RP post will be something like "Brioso managed to inflict a barely noticeable wound on her thigh". If its the highest 9, it'll be something like "Brioso managed to bruise her leg, and she buckled down for a second from the pain." The attacks cannot be a permanent damage like bone breaking/snapping or scarring since its only a friendly spar.
Three rolls each, the one who lands the highest combined number will win the spar. <3 So if I get 2/3 hits and its 1+3=4, I'll still lose if you get 1/3 hits and its an 9. Is that fair? If you'll rather do an RP-spar, ignore this post's roll and continue the RP. xD If not, we'll do the math after 3 rolls and end the RP with a closing 'farewell' post.}
The young mare saw Selena coming a tad too late, although her muscles had been ready to move away when needed. Darting away from where she had been standing, Brioso felt her lower body get hit by her opponent. A sharp pain shot up her legs and she slowed for a second in mid-air, turning her head to view Selena. Her eyes narrowed as she moved forward a few more steps. Then, ignoring the pain in her legs, she swung her body using her weight so that she was facing the other mare once more.
The moment her back hoofs hit the ground, she charged towards Selena with all the ferocity she could muster from the momentum as well as her leg muscles. Her mane and tail were pulled back sharply by the force of her attack, and she tensed her whole body, getting ready for the impact. Her teeth were clenched together tightly, and she adjusted her head so as to achieve a more streamlined body shape for greater speed.
Charging up to the dark colored mare, Brioso swung her body again, back legs rearing up to deliver a hard kick to her opponent's hind.
{Edit: So if you want to not count this post, we can start with your next post. <3 Just tell me. Edit again: PM me if you have questions. xD}

[I understand, and I think we will just count your post as your first, and now this is my first as well ^^]
Selena saw the mare's movement. To her it looked this the mare was trying to for a head on attack. Something similar to what Sel had tried before. But she was wrong. and as a result, her footing was wrong and she was captured. She felt as Brioso's leg grazed down her spine. Selena clenched her teeth until the sharp hoof was no longer on her back. It would surely leave a bruise, and now her movement would not be as quick. She glared straight into the mare's eyes.
At least she isn't as childish when fighting as she is otherwise. Im glad she has changed! she thought to herself with a smirk.
She jumped to the left when the young mare's attack ended. She hopped from leg to leg. Crossing them over, making her balance stay perfectly. Then when she was near another large rock she propelled herself forward and bucked up over the mares head. Then put most of her weight into the raised hooves, making them fall to the ground. Her objective was to scrape a thigh or the mare's back. Then she jumped back, waiting for Brioso's move.

Nothing was broken, but it was even more painful than the last attack; this time, she didn't hold back her yelp of pain when she felt Selena's hoofs on her back. Her whole body lowered with the force, and Brioso quickly moved away from the other mare after she recovered momentarily. Putting some distance between herself and her opponent, the young mare straightened up, keeping a more defensive stance as she tried to measure the extend of her injuries.
Smiling a little when she realized that the pain was slowly subsiding for the time being, she placed her full focus back into fight - she had been careless, but its a spar... Its impossible to come out of it without some bruises at least.
Tensing her muscles, she stomped her front hoof before she sped towards Selena again; this time, she darted to the back of the mare at the last minute and reared up, getting ready to stomp down on her back, or at least slow the other down by bruising her legs.

Selena smirked, seeing and hearing the effects of her attack. Nothing broke obviously, but that doesn't mean that there was no pain. This was becoming more and more interesting. The pain on her back was also beginging to reside, but she knew that if she were to arch her spine, it would hurt once more. And a bruise in the morning was expected.
She saw how Brioso's muscles tensed, it was now her turn, and she was taking it. Selena lowered her body, Briso was more elevated presently, so she had to take a stance. When she saw Brioso buck she quickly moved forward, trying to hit the mare's back legs. Making her fall or lose her balance. She did not even feel the scrape one of the Mare's hooves had managed.

The young mare frowned; missed - well, for the most part. That attack barely scratched Selena, and worse still, the female braced herself when her opponent came with a counter-attack; there was no way she could dodge that... Not while she was still recovering from her last attack, anyway.
On impact, Brioso fell with a muffled yelp, but it wasn't as bad as she had envisioned it - it does hurt a whole lot, but for the most part, she had gotten away from the bulk of the damage. As fast as she could manage, the female got up on all fours, unsteady at first but quickly regaining her composure in an attempt to get back into the fight.
Pushing all the pain to the back of her head, she reared up at Selena again, hoping for this one to be a hit.

Selena had slipped. Her front hoof had not landed on the proper rock and thus her counter-attack had not been as effective. She had still hit, an now she saw as her opponent was falling down to the ground. But she still was disappointed in herself for not hitting harder. She moved her body back into her defensive stance when she saw the Brioso was regaining her footing. She lowered her head and placed her legs apart. Then the young mare bucked. The attack did not seem too effective. Brioso's legs attempted to dig into Selena's back, But all they did was once again scratch her side and back. Sel smoothed out her back, dodging most of what would have been a powerful attack. Selena clenched her teeth together and smirked. Now Brioso was on the earth once more. Sel turned so that her rear was facing the opponent. And she bucked with full force of her tensed back legs.

The other mare had missed completely - Brioso galloped away, using her hind legs to propel herself forward, seeing it as a chance to put some distance between them... After all, this fight had gone on for long enough. It was time for her to return to her temporary home, and she was sure that there would be a lot of explaining to do tomorrow morning at sunrise - after all, injuries don't just appear over night!
"You're not bad," She laughed, and although her body was in pain, it was obvious that she was in a good mood from the exercise. Grimacing a little when she moved her muscles, she soon grinned again, going back to the Brioso who Selena had first met. "Although you missed that last attack, you did land more heavy attacks on me... So, I accept my defeat."

Selena knew she had missed completely when her eye caught her opponent far from the line of fire. When all her legs were once again firmly on the ground she gave a tensed snort. It was time for the spare to end. Even thought the ending blow had failed at hitting its target. Sel knew she had won. She could see the blood, sweat and injured covering the young mare's body And she could feel her own bruises and scratches as well. She smirked. It was a good fight.
"Thank you, I had to be good at times. You are also quite knowledgeable in the art of sparing. You are a good opponent." She licked the blood that had collected on her lip and her mouth filled with the metallic taste. "I hope we could spare again." She said a smile. This young mare had earned Selena's respect. And that was one thing that was very hard to gain. only a tiny handful possessed it. And now Brioso was included. Selena gave a bow, signaling the end of the duel. "May we meet again Brioso." She said, turning towards what she knew as home. [I am just finishing it up then ^^ I would love to RP again though, whether through the guild, msn, email, pm. What ever works. Hope this helped Brioso's character develop!]
