I'd like to see an entirely cooperative RP. One person commanding space forces, the other commanding ground forces. That's all I have so far.

But there would be no conflict.
Bytheway, I call dibs on being the villain. I got my evil lair all bought and payed for already.

I know I said I wouldn't RP here again, but I'm going to see how this discussion turns out before I decide one way or another. I don't want a repeat of Legacy.

Your partial apathy is noted. Thank you for not contributing in any way with the discussion.
Moving on to something that MATTERS, Perhaps actual high level military command should be gotten rid of.

I definitely like the moved to a time more synchronious with the movies. We've been doing stuff way before or after for quite awhile. As far as good/evil goes, I'm probably gonna go neutral, but who knows? I haven't played a bad guy yet...

Personally, I'm wondering if we shouldn't try to make it more like the original triology we had here. Everyone knew the outcome of the battle, because the I agreed with FP32 beforehand who won or loss, the details only being the variable. Sure, it was filled with deux ex machina sometimes, but if the combatants knew that this round was a good guy win, then the bad guys wouldn't try to pull fantastic maneuvers in desperation.
I.E. Neb is scheduled to lose his jedi fight, so he starts finding himself backed into corners and tripping over things he normally would be more aware of. Anytime Imperius attacks, Neb can block, but his counterattacks which normally would work are impeded by environmental issues or somethign.
@ EK: It's kind of sad you say that. The first Legacy RP actually was a tremendous success. It's only the sequel which tanked due to that one mission.

Throw out task force command and whittle it down so that only small forces being allowed as being under a military commander. Stuff like an Interdictor Patrol or single Star Destroyer as the biggest its allowed to get with people directly giving the orders.
Actually an Interdictor Patrol commander is one of the types of characters I was toying with. It's the most likely post for character interaction with all these neutrals running around.
"Unknown vessel, heave too and prepare for inspection."
How bout this, a military character can have a maximum rank equivalent to a naval captain. He can captain a Star Destroyer or lead a small patrol composed of ships of a smaller class (Like an interdictor patrol made up of a VSD and an Immobilizer 41 cool .

I never got to take part in CotGCW, so... yeah, sounds cool.

You can learn all the math in the ‘Verse, but you take a boat in the air you don’t love, she’ll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she’s hurting ‘fore she keens. Makes her home. -Malcolm Reynolds.

I would really like it if the rp was not restricted to a single world, sector maybe. Maybe.

Stellar, I think your thinking too hard.
But I think I like the idea of a semi-controlled rp, so long as it is done in a fair manner, with the Rp controlled by three selected people or a similar way.
We need to figure out what our overlying setting will be and what limits we will have on the player characters. Like I said before, we obviously dont want more than two people at most running around with a fleet of ships at there every command.

You know what I'm doing the Interdictor Patrol. If we've got a terrorist organization on the loose I want to help catch em, and there's no better way to catch terrorists, smugglers, or pirates than an Interdictor Patrol.
So I'll have:
1 Victory II-class Star Destroyer 2 Starfighter Squadrons
1 Immobilizer 418 Star Frigate 1 Starfighter Squadron
I'll probably swap out some of the starfighters for some Alpha-class XG-1 Star Wings. Need something Ion equipped if I'm to capture smugglers won't I?
On the flip side I could do the New Republic version of an Interdictor Patrol. A CC-7700 plus an escort. Not sure what they'd use to escort that sort of boat. Maybe a Nebulon B or something.

Rp development, not character development.
Anyhow, I like New Republic or traditional Old Repbulic.
