The side of Benjamin's blade was a wake-up call that Kuroha had not expected in the least. It had come back in a swift movement, well prepared and planned out on Benjamins case. Kuroha was foolish to make such a close maneuver that obviously could've ended his life in an instant, were it not for him simply going back to the netherrealm that is. A large red welt began to immediately form across the right side of his face, and the force of the smack had actually caused the samurai to reel off more to the left than he had wanted. He was just glad that the pain was over, or so he thought at least.
A mere second after being fwapped across the face with the blade, Kuroha felt a stinging, sharp pain cross over the side of his right shoulder shoulder blade.
"GWAH!", he exclaimed in remarkable pain. The spiked and serraded edge of Benjamin's shield had crossed over Kurohas shoulder blade as if it were another sword, ripping into his Haori. Though the samurai would not realize it, that shield could've quite possibly disarmed Kuroha for the rest of the match, and tournament if it had hit home within his shoulder. The sword slap was actually what saved him in this case, with his reeling to the left a bit more than intended. Such a blow surely would've crippled his right arm, and virtually ended this fight all together. Call it luck, right?
Well, Kuroha would roll forward with the pain in his shoulder, as well as get sand inside of the wound and cause more suffering for him. It was a good sized gash, but it was virtually all superficial damage. It only hindered him a little in terms of movement, because of the pain. When he righted himself from the roll, he quickly turned around to face Benjamin so that no other shenanigans would be following him in his flight. The pain was bearable, but it was already taking a toll on his concentration. The only thing Kuroha thought of as his ring, which he activated in... oh, right about now.
Quote:
Duality Ring: This ring was forged in the flames of heaven and hell, and jeweled with the pearls of light and darkness. Either pearl holds within it a great power, either of powerful darkness, or divine light. This ring is a medium in which Kuroha can control his power output, and serves as a monitor of it as well. The brighter one pearl glows, the more powerful that power set is, and the weaker its counterpart becomes. Overuse of one can cause mostly unseen side-effects.
The black pearl in his ring began to glow brightly with purply miasma, and his arms began to get covered in the very thing that eminated from the pearl itself. It wrapped around and bound itself to Kanesada, and began to turn darker and darker with time until the blade itself turned to a fiery spirit blade. Its characteristics were changed completely, and energy pulsed all around it, as well as Kuroha's body. This was stage one of the Darkness, and it felt gooooood. Kuroha smirked at this transformation, and felt how awe struck the crowd was, absolutely entangled in this evil transformation. Things were going to heat up, quite literally.
