"MOM! LOOK WHAT I FOUND!"
What in the freaking world is that.... Green, dripping, and a flower? What?! Kabibe did not know what to even think. Not a simple clue. "Y-you found that in the o-ocean...?" What is that? What am I sposta do with that?
"Can I keep it?!" Oh Darcy. He could be so adorable when he wasn't angry and snarling and being himself. The boy clung to the egg-ish thing happily. Darn. He was already attached to it. Oh goodness.
"Let me see it, okay? No answers yet." The merboy handed it to his mother who cringed slightly at it's feel. It was kinda of slimy. "What a weird thing... Did you find it at the bottom or the top?" That flower was stuck on it, too! No mattr how much poking or pulling was done to it, it stay. It was like it was part of the egg.
"I found it floating on top. Oh!!!! Mom!!! It was so far out there that it was RAINING where I found it!!! Isn't that weird?!" She had to admit, it was. Today was sposta be incredible nice and clear and for it to be raining anywhere near here was strange. Even stranger was how the clouds were coming toward them.
They made their way back into the Mer Co. building right before it started a down pour. "Oh my..." Kabibe watched as Darcy played with the egg, having a jolly time. She stayed with him for a couple hours before she finally had to go. "I'm gonna leave this egg with you, Darcy. Okay? It better be okay tomorrow or I'll be extremely angry. Do you understand me?" His happy reply seemed to be a bit lost, but she let it be. Even the Mega-boy wasn't cruel enough to kill something he adored.
...She hoped.

Oh god.
She was preparing herself for whatever she was going to walk into. Darcy knew she was here and was waiting in his room. With that egg. Kabibe really, really hoped it was okay. Honestly, she thought Darcy would make a great daddy one day... without those angry issues... of course... But he was only a child and maybe she'd made a very stupid choice.
Too late now....
It was okay.
She was honestly shocked. The little egg was wrapped in a blanket, sitting next to his ocean connection pool. "I see this little egg is okay." A huge smile opened across both her and Darcy's faces. It was great to know she hadn't made a stupid choice, though she definitely wouldn't be leaving it here any longer. Just visits.
"Mom, I think whatever is in it is a girl."
"What gave you that impression?" A chuckle escaped her, but it wasn't cruel. The boy's adoptive mother just found it adorable how dedicated to this egg thing he had found he was. Darcy didn't even use blankets, so he'd obviously had to call an employee it get one. Note: Darcy HATES people and HATES Mer Co. people even more. It was obvious he adored the eggling.
"Well, there's the flower and the pok-a-dots, but really, it just seems like a girl. I don't know. Just does." He unwrapped the blanket from 'her' and dripped her in water again. The egg always seemed to be wet. Kabibe walked over and picked the blanket up from the edge of the pool. It was completely soaked through.
"Did you dip the egg in water before you wrapped it? Or did it fall in to the pool?" A questioning eye was given to the boy who tried to explain he hadn't done either.
"I left it out of the water to dry... And it never fell in. I know it didn't. I would have had to pick it up and out of the water."
"Well, it couldn't have just gotten soaked by itself, Darcy."
"It did! I went and touch the blanket a bit before you came and it was wet! I took care of it, Mom! I swear."
Kabibe sighed and picked the egg up from him. "Well, the egg is gonna be at home. It might not be a mer-creature and we don't want it to be in water when it hatches if it isn't."
Darcy eyes grew huge and sad, but he nodded. Obviously, he cared about the little egg 'girl'.
