Personality: Though charismatic and genuine-looking in public (as is necessary for his role as a prophet), behind closed-doors he is deadpan and nihilistic, though he takes pleasure in his work herding sheep towards the fulfillment of Takaya's ambition. He has four siblings who care for him and have sworn to defend him, but it is quite debatable if that love goes both ways...as he rarely speaks to them other than to give orders, despite being the youngest. Loves to act mature and enjoys berating those who deserve it. Has a little bit of a complex due to his size (he is quite short and thin for his age). Despite being consciously aware of his mature image, he unwittingly makes some decisions and likes some things that may be deemed 'childish'. For example, he drinks coffee, but only with milk and sugar. Likes tea, but only with a lot of sweetener. Likes shirts with wide sleeves (that engulf his hands) because he likes the 'swishy' feel of them. Likes Kira because...she's pretty. And so on...catch him and call him on one of these things, though...
Bio: Intelligent and analytical all his life, Nuri's upbringing was fairly unremarkable save for his large family, though much of it was done outside of the town of Inaba where his family was originally from. Every so often they would return to the small town for a few months at a time, continuing this trend even after his parents were gone. He was always fairly well cared for, particularly by his siblings, but he didn't think much of his parents and cared very little when they passed on due to illness at ages 7 and 11 respectively. Inheriting quite a large sum of money and assets at the death of his parents (he had always been tabbed as the favorite, despite being the youngest of 5), he had very little direct access to it for a while because of his age. Eventually ousting all his handlers but his most loyal one, he and his sisters bypassed this problem and allowed Televaldi Nuri to become the complete master of his familial estate. Locked outside of the town during Inaba's Locked Down period, however, his family was only able to finally return home after it was lifted by Masamune Date.
He was always a rather gloomy child, his intelligence making him into something of a loner amongst what few peers he ever had (which made his siblings rather protective of him, in a way), and when the word began to spread about the Messiah named Takaya and his Nyxist Religion which grew inside of the Lockdown, he was quite dubious. However he was curious, and in his curiosity sought to discredit the Messiah for his own amusement. The night the two met there are two general schools of thought as to what happened...some believe that Nuri judged Takaya to be a liar and left the base that night, only to have his own vision (in a dream) in which he saw the 'glory' of the Fall of Nyx. This is the predominantly-believed version of Nuri's recruitment into the Strega Organization, and because of his vision, he became known as something of a child prophet, even though he was old enough to be at least considered adolescent or young adult instead of a child (as he would insist himself). Following his footsteps to continue their promise to protect their baby brother, his siblings soon joined him and became something of a 'Papal Guard' to their new Prophet, throwing themselves into this new 'religion' as best they could.
Intrigued by his vision, many began to follow his lead within the organization. Takaya picked up on this and saw opportunity in the young benefactor to his organization, bringing him and his family into the inner circle of Strega. Whether this was the plan all along from the night they met and they are both in on it, or if Nuri is simply being lead on a string by Takaya and/or his 'vision' is unknown. Whatever the case, when the main force of Strega relocated to Port Island, Takaya chose Nuri as the Prophet to continue spreading the word in the town of Inaba, assigning Malka Devorah and Kagemusha as his 'divine protectors' to keep him from harm. With a few others staying to help Nuri and his family further the cause, he has proven to be a very effective and charismatic leader at times, convincing many to join them...though whatever he receives out of his participation in another man's dreams remains to be seen.
