"Because you wanted too?" It warmed her heart to hear her say that, She was always the one taking care of others, it was nice to have someone want to look after her for a change. "You wanted to take care of me, but you barely know me. Not that I don't appreciate it, it's just surprising that someone would want to be responsible for me, when they don't owe me anything."
Schmee lay with her eyes closed breathing softly for a few moments then she looked up at Satine and watched her as she sat hugging her knees. "It is really kind of you to do this...and you trying to learn to be a healer?" She said trying to rationalize Satine's actions

Satine smiled as she spoke. "I'm glad you like that i wanted to help you. I couldn't bare to see you suffering. And no...I'm not learning to be a healer. I...Just wanted to make you better." she said. "I haven't taken care of anyone else before...haven't wanted to before." she said blushing a little as she looked over her knees at Schmee. She scooted a little closer and curled her tail around her feet hoping that Schmee would catch on to the fact that Satine liked her alot...and if she wouldn't get mad at her for liking her.

The energy used to keep up with the conversation was to much as she lay there. She still had no idea why this pretty female wanted to watch over her but she wasn't in any shape to take care of herself right now, perhaps tomorrow she would feel well enough to sneak away, for now sleep was all she could think of. "Thank you for watching over me tonight" she said as she fell asleep once again.

Satine watched Schmee fall asleep again and Satine used the chance to feel her head again, she wanted to make sure as often as she could that there was no fever. She didn't want her little patent to have to fight off that and poison. "Your welcome." she said as she pushed Schmee's hair back again and made sure it wasn't getting too dirty. She carefully took out Schmees long sword and pulled her cleaning rag from her chest and began polishing the blade, removing the blood from it, and humming softly a calming song to help Schmee sleep longer.

Schmee slept but felt Satine's hand as is touched her forehead, it felt like ice, the coolness of it was refreshing. the sound of her sword made it's way to her ears and she remembered the battle...it was obviously over, but she didn't quite remember it ending. Every thought felt loose in her mind...What is going on? her body tensed as she started to go into a nightmare, the the soft hum of Satine's song reached her ear and quieted the madness in her head. It was the sweet song of a Valkyrie after a battle He body instinctively rolled closer to the safety of the song.

Satine watched as Schmee got closer to her. She smiled as she finished polishing her sword, still humming for Schmee as she slept. It seemed to make her feel better, she had noticed a small smile on her pretty face. She watched the sleeping warrior and wondered if she would...or could like Satine as more then a friend. Well Satine would try her hardest to show Schmee that she could be more then that here. As she took care of her she would try to get closer to her and get Schmee to warm up to wanting to be around her, as more then friends.

Schmee woke up extremely early the next morning sweat pour off her entire body, she was hot, way to hot, and a bit delirious. She didn't know where she, she looked around and saw Satine sleeping very nearby and she hear water movement close to her location also. Schmee did her best not to wake Satine and she stood and walkind clumsily toward the water stringing off her wet sticky clothing as she went.
Then SPLASH she fell in, without have the strength swim, or mind to know what was wrong, she started sinking swallowing mouthfuls of water. coking on it as the cool darkness started to take her away.

Satine had been sleeping pleasantly, dreaming of playing chase with Schmee in the forest when a splash awoke her. She jumped up, her blades in her hands in seconds as she looked around. She saw Schmees clothing on the ground and gasped. "NO!" she said as she set her swords down and ran at the water. She looked in for her and saw her, she was taking in water through her mouth. Something was the matter besides her drowning. She dived into the water and swam to Schmee. She grabbed her around the waist and pulled her to the surface. "Schmee! Say something if you can hear me!" She yelled as she pulled her back to the bank. She dragged her up onto the ground and checked her over, feeling how hot she was she knew there was a battle going on in her body and it had caused her to have a fever. She checked her breathing to see if she would need CPR.

Schmee wasn't breathing, her lungs were already weak and now with the water was mixed in with the blood that was still there, things had taken a drastic change for the worse. If something wasn't done soon she would be lost.

Satine's eyes watered as she began pumping Schmee's chest to keep her heart going. "Schmee! Don't leave me! Come on!" she said as she held her nose and blew into her mouth. "Come on please!" she said as she pumped her chest some more. She felt her tears falling more as she gave her another breath. "Schmee!!" she yelled at her as she kept trying. The wound on Schmees chest was bleeding again as she pressed against her heart and blew into her mouth. "SCHMEE! PLEASE! Come back to me! You cant leave!" she called out as she kept going. She wouldn't want to know what Birman would say to her if something worse happened to Schmee...he just might kill her and she would let him do it too.

Schmee's eyes popped open when Satine had her lips pressed against her, but she didn't have time to think about it as she quickly rolled on to her side and vomited up all the water and blood from her lungs and stomach and she fell to her back again and looked up into the face of her savior. Satine was crying and the shock showed on her face. "I guess the moonlight dip to cool off was a bad idea" her throat was burning but her lungs actually better then before...getting all the fluid out helped a lot. She looked over her body and noticed she was bleeding again and she was half naked. "Damn, I did it again."

Satine quickly whipped her tears away as she looked at the breathing Schmee again. "Oh thank goodness!" she said as she pulled Schmee's arm up and around her shoulders and carried her back to camp, avoiding her eyes, she might start crying and say things she wasn't ready to say yet if she looked at Schmee right now. "How are you feeling? Still hot?" she asked wanting to know if the shock of the water had helped her fever or not. "And don't worry about the bleeding. I'll get it to stop again and put some more cream on it for you." she said softly hoping that Schmee wasn't mad at her or upset for helping her so much.

"I'm fine, I'll be well again in no time. Fever is down and it's easy to talk again, the cold water seemed to have shocked the burning of the fever. ...I'm sorry or causing you so much trouble,miss." When Satine mention her wound, she realized that she was bleeding right on Satine's shirt. "Oh no! Miss Satine, I'm bleeding on you. Put me down and I'll walk with you. I'm weak at the moment but not helpless. I can mange on my own."

Satine smiled a little to herself as Schmee told her she was feeling better. She looked down at the blood on her shirt and shook her head at Schmee and held her arm tighter. "Doesn't matter. I cant let you walk back with out my help. Were almost there and i think Birman would kill me if i didn't take as much care of you as i was able to." She said as she entered the camp again and lay her back down. "Stay, i'll get your clothes then put on the ointment." she said as she got up and went back for Schmees discarded clothing.

"Birman wouldn't kill a flee if he was infested with them, but that's kinda what I like about the guy, it's refreshing to know that a cat can live out here and be as kind to every one as he is. You should really get to know him better, he's a great guy. He taught me how to meditate and really really helps in times like this when I can't o anything else." As she lay on the ground she just counted her breaths and waited for Satine to return. If she didn't have the meditation she would have tired to sneak away from Satine care in order to lick he own wounds but Birman had also taught her it was inportant to take help when it is offered, so she stayed. And the fact that Satine was putting up with so much trouble made her like Satine. Perhaps they would be good friends when all this was over.
