Rika looks at Kumoru... then at Lucretia. And then, lets the mesh drop, the little beads of concentration scattering as she herself leans backwards, adjusting her monocle.
"If you would rather I not," she says to Lucretia, not Kumoru, "that is fine."
She moves around the room, giving both visitors plenty of space, heading back to the door. "If you would like to wait in our house, I can make some tea," she says as she exits.

The tension seems to fade from the Raevan, and after a moment she giggles nervously. "Sorry, no one's ever done that before. ... Whatever you were trying to do." She follows her father out of the house and back across the street, sticking close beside him with one hand resting on his shoulder.
"Probably for the best," the human says as he crosses back to Setsushi's house, shivering a little at Lucretia's touch. "Tea would be very nice, though, thank you."
"I don't really like tea," Lucretia tells Rika. "But, uh, may I please have a few ice cubes? If you have any?"

"It is a method of object reading," is all the explanation Rika gives of her earlier actions. She pauses at the outside table, placing a hand on the back of one of the chairs, as if she were about to pull it out for Kumoru -- but, stopped, she turns her head and looks down the street.
For there is a tall green-haired man in Gaian clothes turning the corner, carrying a few file folders in his arms. He, too, notices Rika... and the man and Raevan nearby, and suddenly picks up pace, walking quickly towards the udon-ya.

Lucretia just nods at the Porcelain woman's explanation, and apparently decides not to interpret this as Rika calling her an object. She then follows her gaze down the street and promptly brightens at seeing Setsushi, and heads down the street to meet him, ribbon twirling gently behind her.
For his part, Kumoru waits by the table, smiling faintly as he watches Lucretia. And as Setsushi draws closer, the human nods politely in greeting.

When Setsushi meets Lucretia partway, he bows quickly, a bit awkwardly carrying those files, and acknowledges her, "Miss Lucretia," with a feeling of polite greeting. ... But he then resumes walking again, moving past her and swiftly walking up to Rika's side -- brushing past her so close she hops backwards to avoid him with a short surprised feeling, the first projection the woman has given off so far.
"Master Kumoru," he greets the human mage in turn, bowing. "Did you and Miss Lucretia need something...?"
"... Tea and ice," Rika mumbles, turning to head up the steps and prepare it for the visitors.

"I haven't seen you in a while," she says to Setsushi, and trails after him when he passes. "Do you need help carrying those?"
"Hello," Kumoru replies, also bowing. "We were just stopping by to drop off some things for Kouyo, and also a gift for you." He waits on presenting it for the moment, not wanting to further burden the Porcelain even though the box he is carrying is much smaller and lighter than the one Setsushi already has. "When you are more settled, though."

Setsushi is quite all right, he says to Lucretia, inclining his head in her direction and sending grateful feelings regardless.
"I see... Kouyo is not home at present. But you can--" he stops in mid-sentence, turning his head slightly towards the house as if he heard something from within, and then nods. "I see," he says again, a little more decisively.
As for his gift, "Master Kumoru is really too generous. Ones such as we do not need fine things..." he trails off.

Lucretia continues to hover near the Knight for a few more moments, looking like she still wants to help, but still stays out of his way. "I also did just want to come by because I hadn't visited in a while and I wanted to say hello and see how you were doing...." she then admits, and finally backs off a little, returning to the table for the moment to give Setsushi some space.
"Rika already had us drop the books and shelves off over in Kouyo's new house across the street," Kumoru tells the Knight, with a bit of a questioning tone to his voice, as though hoping for some elaboration on the circumstances of Kouyo's apparent decision to move into a new house. If nothing else, he was not aware that Aodhagan had paid him well enough to afford a whole house just for mucking out his storage room.
"And I just got you some more tea," he goes on, showing Setsushi the box. "I do not know if you are familiar with pu'er tea, but I enjoy it myself, and I just found out that the little cakes it comes in are supposed to be shaped like bird nests." Kumoru laughs once. "So I thought of you all, of course. This is for you and Kouyo, and Lady Rika, as well. I hope you like it."

Setsushi pauses, then very slowly nods to Kumoru; "Very well, then," he will accept the gift for Kouyo.
He bows again, with his head. "Then, excuse me," he murmurs; he had better put these cumbersome things away. sweatdrop
Setsushi retreats inside the house; a soft thud marks the files being deposited, and then there is a silence. A few moments later, he emerges with a glass full of ice cubes. "Tea will be a bit longer," he says apologetically to Kumoru before offering the ice to Lucretia.
"How have you been, Miss?" he asks, with a polite concerned projection accompanying.

When Setsushi reemerges from the house, Kumoru presents the small box of tea to him with considerably more formality, and then settles down in one of the chairs at the outside table.
"Thank you," the Ice Rose chimes happily as she curls her fingers around the glass, and sips gently at the cubes. Then in response to Setsushi's question, she tells him, "I have been alright."
Her black eyes gleam a little as she adds, "I have not played Laser Tag in a while, though."

Setsushi accepts the box, a bit hesitant, perhaps gingerly, perhaps shy, but bows again to Kumoru, expressing his gratitude on behalf of Kouyo.
To Lucretia, "I am glad you are well... though I am not sure if I can be your companion again. I have been busy of late..." He laughs a bit ruefully, the image of stacks upon stacks of files in his mind.

"... Not even for my birthday? It's in just a few weeks." The Raevan pushes out her blue-tinted lower lip in a small pout.

Setsushi raises an eyebrow and smiles. "... Well," he says, after a moment's pause, with slightly ashamed and regretful feelings, "I cannot promise that I will be able to attend, but let me know the date, and I will see what I can do."
Presently, a monocled face appears in one of the main windows, peering out blankly at the trio; but Rika remains silent and does not rejoin them yet.

"Well, my birthday is July second, so probably that weekend," she tells him with a nod. Then, grinning a little, she glances at the Knight sidelong and adds, "If it would work better for you, maybe we can pick another time and go with just the two of us?"
The Raevan then huffs a small sigh. "By the way, when is Xiao Huo coming home? I didn't realize how bored I would be without him to drag me all over town exploring. Jilan is boring because all he wants to do is read and study."
Kumoru laughs softly but does not comment.

Setsushi nods, promising that he will do his best to make the occasion.
And does not give a reply to Lucretia's suggestion of an outing for only the two of them, insteading moving on to:
"Xiao Huo," Setsushi says, though the name seems a bit strange in his mouth as if he has become used to calling the child by another name, "may still be a while. All was well with him on my last visit, however; I can go again, though, if you would like?" He glances to Kumoru at the end of the question.
