I just thought I'd share my favorite anime character:] Nadia from Nadia Secret of Blue Water
kay2kay
Nadia: Secret of Blue Water is one of the best animes I have watched in a long time (I like the japanese version best with subs) and features a lot of black characters and they even go to Africa so don't say "they are just dark skinned...etc" the creators even wanted to give her (Nadia) more natural black hair but were worried about how people would respond so they didn't. I'm going to cosplay her in the near future and hop you guys can enjoy this show as well:]

P.S. This is a fairly old show (quotes wiki below)
Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water (ふしぎの海のナディア, Fushigi no Umi no Nadia
Nadia of the Mysterious Seas) is a Japanese animated television series inspired by the works of Jules Verne, particularly Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and the exploits of Captain Nemo. The series was created by Toho, from a concept of Hayao Miyazaki, and directed by Hideaki Anno of Gainax.

The series follows a young inventor named Jean and a former circus performer named Nadia, who wishes to return to her home in Africa.

In its original Japanese broadcast, it aired from 1990 to 1991 and ran for 39 episodes. The complete television series is available in the United States from ADV Films on DVD. ADV's Anime Network has broadcast the series in the United States. Reportedly, the series was to have been screened in the United Kingdom in the mid-1990s, but the UK distributor was concerned by the level of violence in the series

Nadia
Nadia is a 14 year-old African circus performer of Kenyan descent. She is stubborn, short tempered and a strict vegetarian. After Jean rescues her from the Grandis Gang, she sets out on an adventure with him to determine the origin of the "Blue Water", the jewel that beckons the criminals to her. :]

(As I stated above, I like the original with subs better but the episodes are hard to find and some versions were badly subbed crying )

Probably late as heck but I read G.M's Final Crisis in hardback collected edit, and I love the Afro Wonder Woman and Black Superman who just happened to be a president. (Obama-man much?) Kind of makes me wish they would do a spin off that more. I don't usually do pop/pol comics but I would go for that. Also I was looking into getting BP on DVD but I guess it's a motion comic and I don't go for those.
