That's sad. I can't imagine being without Sagasu. I don't know what I'd do if she ever left me. Admitting reluctantly, she didn't even want to imagine what Narcissus felt to live without his family, but then maybe it didn't bother him do much. Hime wasn't certain if all families were as close as she and her sister, they hadn't met enough to know. Trying not to dwell on such a heavy-hearted thought, tear marked face canted gently in unison with the Leopon. That would make you all the more exotic, I would think. Certainly there must be an interesting story behind how your mother and father met! More so than us typical leopards. I think it might be interesting to be half something else. You have the option of acting like a leopard or a lion. There are some days I wish I was a lion...

Realizing that she'd begun to ramble the milky leopardess flushed and fell quiet, intent instead on absorbing the other's voice as she daintily settled upon the ground near Nac. The sorrow in his smile caused her heart to bleed for him, empathetic to a fault perhaps. Hime nosed closer to rest her chin on a large, ebony paw. We are very close it's true, but our parents disappeared when we were only little.. it was all we could do. At least you still have your mother. Certainly your sisters are out there somewhere.. and they'll come back eventually, when they've had their fill of the world I'm sure. You shouldn't blame yourself.. they would have left no matter how you might have tried to stop them. I should know best.. it's hard to change a woman's mind once it's set.

Lifting her head as she watched him roll playfully her smile softened, shy but grateful for his kindness. Hesitant to accept such a gracious offer, but nodding ever so slowly as she leaned to touch her nose to his own, tittering gleefully. I will keep that in mind, should the need arise, though I would hope that when we meet again it wouldn't be under such unpleasant circumstances.

Narcissus watched her and shrugged, for a second thinking.

He shook his head, "Sometimes one doesn't have to act. As vain as I am sometimes I'm sure to turn heads." He chuckled and listened to her. "However I'm not sure how she ever met a go---" He trailed off mouth agape for a second and he coughed. "I er.... I'm not sure how she met him... that's what I meant." Nodding as if it were fact and he wasn't about to say god.

He watched her as she rested her chin on his paw he smiled seeing she was warming up. "To be frank I'm not sure where she's wondered off to either." He chuckled, "but as long as she's happy that's the best I could ever ask for."

He shook his head, "I think... some how one of them thought one of us was missing and went looking for us then the other disappeared as well. Of course mother held onto me so tight that I don't think even uncle Tego could've helped me out of it." He paused and whispered, "He's not really my uncle. I called him that to annoy him. He was always a grouch." He giggled.

Nac wrinkled his nose for a second as if to stop a sneeze before rolling back over had he not had black fur one might would've seen him blush as well. "Oh I hope not either but if the need should ever arise it'd better to know who your friends are milady."

Himeru was none the wiser either, oblivious to the fact that Narcissus was of the God Limbuko's lineage and perhaps that was for the better. There was no telling how extreme the dense leopardess' reaction might have been if only she had known she was speaking with a being that had been created in the image of an immortal.

Listening intently to the story of the leopon's family, a smile touched her milky maw, unable to help herself. Even despite his hardship Hime couldn't help but imagine how nice it would have been to tell such entertaining stories about the family she didn't know. He had grown, gained knowledge and experience through all the strife he had been through and was better for it. Musing out loud as she lifted her chin to watch Nac roll back onto his belly. It must be nice.. to have so many people that you care about and that care about you...

Nodding gingerly in agreement to the idea of having a friend to rely on in times of trouble, though honestly the submissive young leopard hoped never to have to concern herself with such a thing. Even if her twin often seemed to go looking for trouble.

Nac looked at her, "That is one way to put it." His tail flickered as he stretched.

"However the other way would be 'what a shame it is to have lost such a family.'" He chuckled thoughtfully.

"However it was in no intention of mine to loose such, it just happened. Even seer powers, if one had such a thing, or if it even existed, I doubt would help remove this trouble." He grinned jokingly.

"However time occasionally seems to slip away," Pausing he looked towards her, "We forget our loved ones as well as friends and what they were like. Horrible truth, but I can't remember a thing about my sisters save that one was boy crazy."

His tail flickered, "Perhaps for the best, she ran off. I'm sure she's found a suitable lion, leopard, leopon or other being to make her happy. Which is about the only thing we can do with lost loved ones. Is speculate whatever they are doing or where ever they are, they are happy doing it, whatever that maybe."

He paused, "I seem to be ranting...." He said with a grimace. "You must be bored stiff. Is there something I could get for the pretty flower? Perhaps a meal?" He said nodding off towards the river.

It was hard for Himeru not to let the sorrow show upon her face at such a thought as forgetting someone so close, but she was a creature that wore her emotions on her sleeve and the forlorn set in before long. Perhaps because she knew what it was like to be unable to remember someone who had meant so much. The ease with which he spoke of the matter was almost unsettling to her, given that Hime had become quite adamant about remembering every face she met since she and her sister had lost their parents so long ago.

Narcissus had the right idea though, he wished his sisters well and imagined them content in their current lives, where ever they had made their homes and really little else could be done. Africa was such a big place, it was easy to lose someone forever if one wasn't careful. Still, her stomach knotted, the leucistic leopardess didn't have a cruel bone in her body, but she didn't want to imagine her parents happily living somewhere in the lands, perhaps with a new family. Not when she and Sagasu had suffered so long to survive without their care. It made her sick to know that she could harbor resentment towards them for a situation that might have been outside her control.

Pallid gaze had gradually sunk to the earth beneath her forepaws, shaking her head gently. No... you're not. I'm glad you've said all that you have, I've never really looked at it that way. I don't.. want to forget anyone ever again, but those.. that I have..

Hime paused painfully, hesitant to meet the dark leopon's eyes, I-I don't know... if I could hope for their happiness.

Her cheeks hot with shame as she tried quickly to change the subject, reluctant to linger on or speak of a past she tried so hard to put behind her. Forcing a meek smile as she stood. I.. I'm not very hungry, but I'm a really good fisher, even better than my sister--Saga has told me it's the one thing I excel at, besides hiding. I could catch something for you... if you would let me?

Narcissus saw the female's pain and had softly slid over to her before giving her a soft nuzzle.

"We all have things we regret in life... don't worry about not being able to hope that they're happy but perhaps well and that one day you'll see 'em again." He grinned before backing up and sitting back down smiling.

He paused listening to the offer and grinning. "Oh, what a treat that would be!" He nodded softly, "Of course I'd love to see someone else's technique if you don't mind my watching you fish. Speically a lovely little flower like yourself~."

Flinching timidly as Narcissus leaned towards her to offer a comforting nuzzle, Himeru's first instinct was to recoil in surprise, but she resisted the urge. She found the touch soothing, offering a forced smile as she tried to forget the subject all together with only the most thread-bare of acknowledgment towards the hybrid's wisdom. Perhaps someday she would be ready to forgive them and be able to hope that they were alive and happy somewhere, but someday was a long way away for now.

Blushing under the weight of his charming smile, lavender and sakura colored gaze avoided him sheepishly. Quick to turn and bound forward as she lead the way towards the river that snaked through the jungle, only occasionally glancing back to be sure he was following, growing more eager the closer they came to the swirling, lapping currents. Finally speaking as she padded along the edge of the water, flicking her tail with a glow of excitement upon her face. You can watch if you want.. I don't mind.

Nac grinned tail flickering. "Awesome."

He had followed her keeping a bit behind so she had her space. He was curiously wondering if her style was much different than his, when they reached the water he sat at the edge, and couldn't help but look into the water and started trying to fix his mane again.

After he was happy for now about his mane he turned his head back towards her.

Tentatively gauging the depth of the river where they stood, dark paws pressed into the shallows. Deliberate, but careful movements brought the wading leopardess towards the peak of a rock which she climbed onto, now sopping draining of the water it had absorbed in snaking streams and laying flat against her body. Perched upon the surface of a jutting boulder Himeru had a better view of the opposite edge where roots and river grass tangled to create the perfect resting place for the night feeders like giant catfish. There also tended to be a greater potential for unwanted company such as crocodiles, but the jagged mouth reptiles had yet to get the better of the little fisher and as such she possessed no fear of them.

Watching the water thoughtfully her tail brushed the water's surface, sweeping to send ripples towards the murky shadows and waiting for a reaction.

Not even a single flip of a fin.

Hmm. Cocking her head she watched the grove contemplatively. Tail flicking with consideration for her next move.

Nac watched her curiously tail flickered as he sat on the bank tail flickering. His head canted to one side as he watched her observing the water.

His eyes watching for shadows in the water as well to see what could be seen.

Tapping her tail on the rock where she sat, mismatched gaze had drifted up towards the sprawling broken branches of one of the trees that stretched out over the river. It certainly appeared, in all aspects, to the naked eye that Himeru had already lost interest in fishing not even minutes after she had begun. Her intent seemingly fixated on a heron that flitted between one creaky limb to another.

To a skilled hunter though, they would have realized that the clever little leopardess was taking advantage of her surroundings, carefully stalking the fishing bird with her stare and waiting patiently for it to reveal the location of the fish, given that her previous attempts to unearth the water dwellers on her own had all but failed.

After several long moments of following the bird's movements the heron finally descended, diving like an arrow to plunge into the water's depths and close behind was the excitable leucistic female. Sleek body barely causing a splash as she moved in an almost serpentine fashion after her prey, causing quite a commotion. Frantic bird shrilled and flapped its impressive wings in a panic, scrambling to escape the huntress as talons at the ends of long legs flexed. Luckily for it, Himeru held little interest in the gamey bird, rather intent on stealing the flailing fish that had been the feather-brain's prey. Small paws sinking into the sides of the thrashing catfish long enough to get her mouth securely around the base of muscular tail, just above the caudal fin.

Catching such large game wasn't usually a problem fr the tiny leopardess, however, returning to shore with her catch always proved an exhausting struggle. Fighting against both the writhing fish and the currents of the river Hime struggled to back out of the water, using her forepaws to press into the river bed as the water nearly cascaded over her head, lithe haunches flexing to pull herself backwards while her tail flipped with the strain to hold on to the powerful beast that nearly threatened to drown her.

Narcissus sat there watching her with a loft brow. Thinking to himself and peering at the rather large catfish.

Vine striped tail flickered as he watched her looking around at their surroundings they must be closer to one of the waterfalls than he'd realized what with the swift water current here.

He almost shivered with thought of actually getting wet like that and looking like a drowned rat specially with his mane. He was still far too vain to actually go into a river and fish, instead normally picking off the smaller fishes around the edges and in the slower parts of the river.

His purple hunches twitched as he watched her. Coming a bit closer towards where she was wondering if and how he could help, with little to no water getting on him. Though it didn't really look like that much of an option, if he was gunna help her.... though unsure of how.... he'd end up soaked either way and possibly grumpy at the poor river for killing all his work to fix his mane.

Ever the persistent little huntress, Himeru showed perhaps the first glimpse of her indomitable spirit in this rather epic David versus Goliath struggle. Mostly submerged within the slimy creature's element, it certainly had the upper hand as muscular body struggled against the jaws and extended claws which held it, tainting the water a dusky red. Wide caudal fin slapping at her shoulder while she fought to drag it up the bank, haunches trembling with the effort as her tail lashed and flipped with the strain.

Feeling her grip slip as the catfish gave a monstrous buck in the water--pulling Himeru further into the river as she lost some ground--the tiny leopardess grit her teeth and pinned her ears. She wasn't about to be shown up by a animal that didn't even have any feet, unable to live down the embarrassment should she fail to accomplish the task she'd set out to do. She couldn't return to him with empty paws, not after telling him how good a fisher she was!

Nac watched curiously looking around for something that could.... well help without 'helping'.

His tail flickered as he soon spotted some vines, those of which likely wouldn't be easy to remove from the tree which they grew on. He moved quickly to steal a few vines and fashion them in a way that ... well if he could lasso her it'd work.

He looked towards the huntress, however it seemed that idea of helping pull her back wasn't going to be as easy as he'd thought. He sighed and instead started turning it into a necklace, keeping his eyes however on the leopardess.....

"Um..... nothing I can do to help is there?" He knew she couldn't answer considering she likely still had that mouthful of fish. He resolved that, if she seemed to lose anymore ground he'd just risk getting himself drowned to help her.

He didn't really want to loose a new friend but he didn't want to get wet either...... Oh woe was he!

Though she heard Nac question her ability, Hime was hard pressed to respond. Quickly losing heart at what appeared to be--at least in her mind--his lack of faith in her abilities the little leopardess was beginning to finally succumb to the exhaustion of the struggle. Claws sliding over slippery scales as she could feel the beast escaping from her loosening grip. No! It couldn't end this way! She couldn't lose it now, not when she'd come this far!

But a catfish apparently wasn't on the menu for the pair this afternoon as with one last desperate slap of his tail fin the catfish slipped from between her paws. Thick body slithering with a surge of water down the shoot of the strong currents though not without his fair share of battle scars. Claw marks raked his sides and fair sized chunk had been removed from the river monster's tail where Himeru's mouth had held him.

Paralyzed by shock the leucistic leopardess could only stare after the ripples of her retreating prey. This was definitely a first for her, shivering as the water crashed against her side and swept over her back, though she failed to budge. Panic slowly setting into her bones. What was she going to do now? She couldn't bare to face Narcissus this way looking feeble and defeated. What was he going to think of her now? Maybe she hadn't ever really been a good fisher at all, maybe it had all been in her head? A lie she had convinced herself of to combat the idea that she was completely useless as a huntress. What if she really was good for nothing?

OOC:
This really wasn't my intention when I first sent her into the river.. but some how this is what it turned into, lol. As much as this is going to be crazy awesome character development for Himeru as she's now going to have an even worse inferiority complex then she already has... I'm pretty positive she's just been completely crushed.
