So many questions. And yet, Rou's was making Ruokei feel more and more relaxed. And it was so very much easier to talk to one person than many, really!

Ruokei found a shady spot in the park and moved to sit, folding his hands in his lap.

Ruokei lives with a woman called Mireille. She is very nice, but she doesn't understand him at all, so things sometimes seem very hard. He's never met Master Boyan or Lady Tsubame, and he wonders, are they nice?

He started to turn his attention to answering the question about Sailien, only to look up just in time to see the little kit barreling for him at full tilt. Sailien leapt into his lap, knocking him over and licking one cheek cheerfully before hopping back off.

Sailien is... a zurui, he managed with a giggle, one hand coming up to scrub away zurui-saliva. Ruokei isn't quite sure what zurui are, but he likes them, and he likes cuddling them because they're so fluffy. ...Even if he does find them horribly random.

Likewise, the dark-skinned boy moving to sit, leaning back with his hands on the grass to support him.

Yes, he figures that must be quite troublesome. Most people in this world do not seem to be able to understand them well at all, it seemed and, while Rou could speak, a little, he wasn't really good enough at it to carry a full, clear conversation...

That mental projection is cut short, however, then Sailien barrels right back for Ruokei, and an happy, warm laugh escape his lips and turn. Are all zurui that michevious and active ?

Ruokei really has no idea, the paler porcelain admitted. He's only met a very few zurui, and only this one is so small. Maybe they get calmer when they get older?

Sailien just yipped at the question, lifting his nose into the air and sniffing a bit before he's off again, ducking under a bit of brush so that he was well inside shadow. Ruokei watched him go, eyes smiling... and a little wistful.

Rou would really like to see more of them one day, maybe - the gaian animals are so varied and interesting ! He would really like to get to know more about them eventually.

The little one seems rather comfortable in the shadows, hmm ?

Ruokei's eyes follow the cavorting kit as Sailien entertained himself. It was honestly fun to watch, but rather exhausting, too.

Sailien seems to like shadows best, he agreed. Ruokei wonders if the sun hurts Sailien, since the kit seems to like shadows so much.

He paused, considering for a moment before a thought occurred and he added, Sailien seems happiest ofall at night.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 04, 2009 6:51 pm

Maybe Sailien is nocturnal, then ?

...Though, if he is, Rou doesn't think the little kit is showing it much at the moment. xd

Maybe it's kind of like Rou and water. Rou is happiest and at his most comfortable in water, he projects. It really hurts his nose if the air gets too dry, too.

That earned Rou a look of interest from Kei, his head tilted a bit.

Rou knows how to swim? Ruokei has wondered how to swim, but doesn't want to bother Mireille.

In the shadows of the bush, Sailien lay down, his eyes narrowing into a smirk. Yesssss... that was perfect.

Rou does know how to swim. He would be a lousy water sorcerer if he did not know how, he points out with gentle amusement. Rou could try to teach Ruokei if he wants him to, and if they find a pond or something shallow enough. While he had learnt how to in rivers and the like, a more calmer, controlled environment is probably better for...

Well, anyone that isn't Rou.

Ruokei considered the ideas carefully, plucking at his sleeve with one hand. Calmer waters definitely appealed, but it was something else that Rou had said that caught his attention.

Rou is a water sorcerer? he finally asks, curiosity mixed with awe. Rou didn't seem that much older than Ruokei himself was. Was he supposed to focus on his life goal now?!

Rou is a water sorcerer, yes !

Just... not a very talented one, like his master Rou-Dai, or his master's second apprentice... sweatdrop ....Rou-Shou still has a whole lot to learn. He's an apprentice still.

At the last of Ruokei's questions, the dark-skinned boy ponders his answer for a moment. This is not something Rou can tell Ruokei, to be honest. Rou had known ever since he was very young that he wanted to be a sorcerer like his father, even thought in the end, their elements were different.

Rou honestly think that when the time is right. Ruokei will know just what it is that he wants to do, and who he wants to be - just like it had been for Rou. He hasn't been a water sorcerer for long, maybe one year or so... Even then, he'd been a bit older then Ruokei.

Rou thinks Ruokei should not worry about it too much. 3nodding

Ruokei sighed with relief at the reassurance, turning a shy smile to Rou. It seemed like there was so much to get used to, he didn't really want to have to worry about a life goal too.

Though he wonders... what do water sorcerers do, really? The words sound very exciting to Ruokei.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 04, 2009 7:51 pm

Well... Water sorcerers can manipulate water, though Rou's... not very good at that just yet, so he rather hope Ruokei will not ask for a demonstration redface

Rou's better at simpler things, like breathing underwater or walking on it if he gets the spell right... But what Rou's best at is something his master called divination - he can see things in water, like flashes of the future or answers to questions, but since Rou's still young, he's not always right. Or always able to understand what he Sees. Rou-Dai told him he would get better with practice.

From the tone of his projections, it is very evident that Rou-Shou quite adores this Rou-Dai, and misses him terribly.

As for what they do, well, so far Rou-Shou and Rou-Dai tried to talk to spirits once or twice, but they sometimes went to town to try to do divinations so Rou-Shou could get better. Rou-Shou did not like towns much, as the people living in them always either stared at him or where somewhat mean-ish. Rou-Dai told him once it was because they were sorcerers and not because of something Rou-Shou did, so that had made him feel a little better... Maybe they just thought they were weird for not living in square houses ?

Rou-Shou doesn't mind this Gaian town as much - people here tend to ignore him for the most part. He really didn't like the glares he got sometimes for just being himself... He just wants to make people happy and make them smile, like Rou-Dai do.

...But Rou is just babbling now, sorry !

Ruokei was listening to it all in fascination, his knees drawn up so that he could rest his chin on them as he watched Rou. His shy nature was forgotten as he thought about everything that Rou told him, from the reactions to town to...

Rou can see pictures in water?

Yes, that seemed to be of particular interest to Ruokei. He hesitated, then asked, Ruokei wonders if Rou's allowed to look in water without his teacher around?
PostPosted: Thu Jun 04, 2009 8:03 pm

Rou can try - he knows how to do it just fine without his beloved master, though it will be the first time doing it without him watching. He's pretty sure he can do it - the last few times, all Rou-Dai had done was watch.

...But as he said, sometimes he doesn't see very well. Something what he sees is just plain not what he was looking for. Such a thing happen, with water. But he would gladly try for Ruokei. Rou's... never really had a friend close to his own age before, and Ruokei's been very kind to him, in despite knowing just what he does.

...Is there something worrying him, the dark haired boy project, along with worry about his new friend.

Ruokei started to answer, then blinked, getting derailed by something else.

People don't like Rou for what he does? Ruokei doesn't understand this. Rou has been very nice. Do people not like nice Rou?

That thought far outweighed any other worries Ruokei had. If people in this Golden World didn't like nice people... then Ruokei really didn't want to ever go there. Ever.
