Selena could sense that the mare's eyes were on her, it made her a little uncomfortable, being looked at. But she just ignored the feeling, knowing to was wrong and out of setting. Instead, she looked around at the foliage, the shards of light spilling through the holes in the leaves, the tall, wild grass as it swayed to the song of nature. It was all too familiar. The song of the forest played in her ears, calming her. Bringing back memories. God and evil. But her eyes were washed and glazed, and a smile on her face as she remembered it all. Her past. And her desired future.
"Have you? That must have been beautiful. I love the woods. Always have..." And she drifted off into memories again. Memories of running through the night light woods, of hiding behind ancient trees, jumping over roots, basking in tall grasses, grazing in small clearings. The woods were the only things that held kind memories for her,. Everything else was always a nightmare. Written in blood. But the woods and forest and mountains were her haven, a place where she hid from the world she knew, and it always gave her the best hiding spots in return for countless hours she spent in its arms.
"ANd i always will love them."
