Melody is so sorry! gonk She does her best to stay above that sort of thing, but sometimes, she can just HEAR that voice, taking things out of context...
But then again.
It could be worse. Melody hears her father was much worse on his own at this stage in his life. Not that she can remember such things. It's all a blur of tea parties and duckies and Tsu-Tsu.
--And her father has already ensured his grandchildren will have duckies in THEIR life, as well...

A cascade of reassurances pelts Melody that its fine. Its fine, she does not need to explain herself...! sweatdrop
And....as far as Master Boyan goes, he was made quite aware of her father's love for ducks. He had stopped by shortly before the prom as he was making some soap, and...
He looks back to Eiji who has grasped a fold of Hitsuga's sleeve in one tiny hand, and seems to lose his train of thought for a moment. 4laugh

Melody covers her mouth with one hand to stifle a giggle.
It's funny, she thinks, how nervous Hitsuga was just a few moments ago... and look at him now!

Eikou is a fine woman, he tells Melody readily. The two of them didn't get on so well when they were younger, but when push came to shove, she became his closest friend. 3nodding
.....and.....he hopes she's doing all right. They had both been a bit busy for a few weeks prior to his disappearance and hadn't had a chance to talk.

Isn't that how most siblings are when they're young, though? Melody loved Tsutchi; don't misunderstand, but they had their fair share of spats and misunderstandings.
Like the time, when Melody and Boyue were little, Melody didn't have a swimsuit but she wanted to swim in the little stream by Tsu-Tsu's house anyway, so she took a towel out, put her clothes on the bank, and swam anyway...
And she remembers Boyue being there, but not much else about it, but...
The important thing was, once she was all wrapped in her towel, Tsutchi found her, grabbed her by the wrist, and practically DRAGGED her back to the house to protect her innocence...
Then the towel fell down... gonk
ANYWAY. She hopes that Hitsuga and Eikou will be able to see each other again; maybe she could visit Gaia sometime! Melody would LOVE to meet her!

Hitsuga thinks to his own childhood.
And how he and Baikou had been scolded by their mothers furiously for going barefoot when they waded in the shallows, looking for shells. He tries, just for a minute, to envision what their mothers' reaction might have been if THEY had ever made the decision Melody had, and...
....he imagines he may, very likely, still be confined to Eiyou's house without permission to leave unless it is under her supervision. sweatdrop
....but yes, he quickly goes on. Hitsuga hopes to see Eikou soon too. She must be worried. Perhaps Lady Rika's attempts to reopen a way back to the Golden World will pay off shortly.
How is Master Boyue adjusting to being a father? 3nodding

It's hard to tell sometimes, Melody thinks as she glances down at Tsubaki's face. He's ecstatic and terrified all at once, she knows, but the reality may not truly set in until Melody and the twins are home-- which should be in another day or two, she adds.
But, she thinks, he is more easily rattled than she. But that might be because he's so smart; when one knows too much, they have more reasons to worry, right? Like how when someone reads up on a bunch of illnesses and stuff, how they're more easily convinced they're sick?

Hitsuga supposes that makes sense.
Looking down to Eiji again, who seems to lack interest in the adults' conversation enough to have dozed off, he returns his eyes to Melody, warmth in them.
He wishes her and Boyue the very best. He is certain they will both be wonderful parents.
