"Hey, if you aren't feeling good, we could do something else?" Verdant had his heart set on going shopping with them, but the health of a friend was what mattered most. The prospect of buying new hatpins and corsets had brightened his day, but... "We can always just... put it off for another day?"
Orpheus chirped happily at Marius's brilliant idea. "I'll sing, brah!" Then he chirped sadly. "What song to sing?"
Yes, quite the life-or-death situation for Orpheus...

Dorian nodded but was still concerned, keeping watch on Ellandra as he stood up and watched Marius take Rhian away. "Perhaps, but it's still a good precaution, Ellie. There's no reason to be bashful about it. It happens to women all the time," he smiled kindly, looking to Verdant with a raised eyebrow. He knew the boy was excited to go shopping. Chuckling at Orpheus's enthusiastic chirpping, Dorian gave him a rub under the chin affectionately and looked towards the kitchen.
"Marius! Everything alright in there?" he called affectionately.
In the kitchen, Marius huffed at the insult that he couldn't take care of things. Looking up to Rhian, he pointed to the big bag of sugar and bottle of honey on the top shelf while he went to the fridge to take out the milk.
"He needs the sugar and honey, Miss Rhian.....I can mix it all together though and take it out, then Miss Ellandra should be much better," he reassured the flutterby.

Ellandra nodded a little to Doian, the looked at Verdant and managed a smile for him. "No, no, I walked ll the way over here, no need to reschedule just because I'm a little nauseated," she said quietly, trying to reassure her friend - goodness, what had him so upset anyway? It was just a little morning sickness after all, the silly nymph shouldn't worry like that - it wasn't good for him.
Rhian nodded and dd her best to get the sugar and honey for Marius, glad to help - but the sugar turned out to be a bit too heavy for her, and she wound up plunging to the floor with it and lying sprawled on the half-exploded bag. "Ouch," the flutterby said, then shook sugar off of her form. "Sorry, sorry!" She hadn't meant to be so clumsy, honestly!

Marius simply floated backwards to avoid the worst of the sugar-storm caused by Rhian, but upon opening his eyes he looked down and saw his entire front coated white. It was like snow, only not, and it was tickling his nose. After a small sneeze, he calmly walked over to Rhian, scooped out a handfull of sugar from the bag, and went to the counter to put it into a glass, quietly pouring milk into the glass afterwards. Looking back at the flutterby, he frowned softly. Not at her, just at how to best clean her off without damaging her wings. It was in his nature to be compelled to clean. He was near OCD neatfreak.
Looking around, he got a washcloth and dampened it slightly, floating to the butterfly and starting to gently wipe off her wings that were letting off a small dusting of sugar as she moved them. Humming softly and kind of off-key to himself as he did so, he kept to his work diligently.
"No need to worry, Miss Rhian....we'll clean you up in a moment, then could you get the honey please?" he asked softly.

Verdant frowned at Ellandra a bit. "Are you sure you're all right?" Oh, if only he'd paid more attention to Matron Sandy when she explained pregnancy to him; he heard "uterus" and his mind went blank as he tried to sleep with is eyes closed.
Orpheus was wracking his brain trying to think of a song to sing when he heard a bit of commotion from the kitchen. He decided that the adults were fine on their own and flew into the kitchen to find Rhian and Marius covered in sugar. "You guys are playin' in sugar and didn't invite me, brah?"

"I'm sure, Verdant," Ellandra said softly. "Twins are just a little harder for me to adjust to, I think. . . " Aready she was starting to feel a bit better, maybe not enough to run off somewhere yet, but definitely better than before.
Rhian pouted and fluttered her wings a little, trying to get mor of the sugar off. "Wasn't playing; I dropped it and it exploded everywhere. . ." Though she did scoop up a handfull of the powdery suff and throw it at Orpheus, just so he could be messy too. "What if I drop the honey, too? That would be harder to clean!"

Verdant nodded in agreement with Ellandra; having a kid was probably taxing enough, but two? Those nine months would sure be hell, he was sure of that. "Well, it's still early. Dorian and I could cook something for you, if you're feeling better." Actually, Verdant himself was beginning to feel a little hungry, but his hunger could wait.
Orpheus sneezed when the sugar hit him, but giggled now that he was joining in on the fun. "Does little brah need my help? I can get da honey, brah." He looked around the kitchen, but didn't see it. "Where is da honey, anyways?"

Marius sneezed a small power of sugar while it floated in the air, his only lament to the situation being that he and Dorian would have to go out and get some more. Well....Dorian would. Marius couldn't be seen yet, which he secretly hated. Looking to Orpheus, he pointed to the top shelf to a plastic bottle of sealed honey.
"It's right there on the top shelf.....I'd appreciate it, big brother," he smiled sedately, his ear/hair pieces twitching as he did so.
Meanwhile in the front room, Dorian frowned and kept tending to Ellandra while listening to Verdant and her converse. He nodded eagerly and smiled at her.
"He's right you know....I don't mind cooking. I'm quite good at it actually." he purred.

Orpheus quickly flew up and grabbed the bottle with his claws, holding onto it securely with his opened beak; wouldn’t want to make more of a mess, now would we? He brought it down and placed it in Marius’ hands. “Happy ta help, little brah!” Indeed, he quite liked being useful. He would have to ask his brother for more chores around the house.
Verdant smiled at Dorian, not quite noticing the blush that had slowly crept onto his face; it was just the idea of being helpful to somebody, right? It wasn’t because he wanted to do something with Dorian, no, not at all!

Rhian sneezed, sending sugar flying again. "Um... sorry?" She hadn't meant to make the silvery-white sweet go flying around like that, it seemed she just didn't have much luck lately when it came to accidents. Clumsy, clumsy, clumsy. How could she be a butterfly-proto and be clumsy? Butterflies in storybooks were graceful and elegant, not clumsy and always breaking things! But then, they didn't like fluffy treat either, and she wouldn't trade fluffy treat for gracefulness - ever.
Ellandra blinked, and shook her head a little. "Thank you both, but I'm not very hungry right nw. Perhaps later. . ." h yes, the nausea was most definitely receding, that was good. Maybe she'd be able to get up soon, then? She hoped so, she hadn't come here to lay around after all - she could have done that at home.

Marius watched the flutterby with interest, then turned to Orpheus. Taking both the sugar and honey, he put them on the tabletop that had somehow miraculously avoided the sugar cloud, and drifted over to get the milk. Getting a glass from the lower cuppboards he toddled back over and while one arm was holding the glass, another was pouring the milk into that glass, while yet ANOTHER was measuring out a small amount of sugar while the last arm was popping the lid on the honey. As he finished pouring he put the cap back on and poured a small amount of honey in, and dropped the sugar in. With the spoon he'd used for the sugar, he stirred it all together while his other arms started righting the sugar bag (what was left of it) and the honey. When that was finished, he carried all four items with him, first to the fridge to put the milk away, then drifting up to put the sugar on the counter to be cleaned up later, and the honey next to it.
"I'm sorry to bother you big brother but.....could you put it back please? I'm going to take this out to Miss Ellie," he said gently, looking at the fiesty dragon with a smile. His hair pieces twitched again with content and he drifted out into the family room, presenting his hard-won milk and sugar mixture to Ellandra. "Miss Ellie....if it would please you, here's a small drink that'll help accelerate the medicine's effects. It should keep the little ones quiet all day, though you may feel a bit hyper in a while...it's a little sweet...." he ushered, his voice strong but oddly soft at the same time. Dorian could only smile proudly at his little partner. Marius was always so incredibly helpful and kind to everyone. His little light, Marius was. A flicker of hope in the dark.
As Marius handed the drink to Ellandra, he looked at Verdant and frowned softly. Hovering up to eye level he put a hand to Verdant's forehead. "Master Verdant? Do you need tending to as well? Your face is red, perhaps you have a fever?" he questioned innocently, cocking his head and floating back down to his usual height. Dorian looked over with interest and frowned as well. He couldn't have BOTH his friends sick, now could he? Stepping up as Marius had, Dorian felt Ver's forehead, pushing back some hair to do so, and frowned again. He was a bit warm, but perhaps that was because Dorian's body temprature was usually so cool to the touch? Deciding to try again, Dori leaned forward and grazed his lips on Ver's forehead to try again and lingered a moment, almost enjoying the sensation and then pulling back with an odd look on his face.
"No.....no fever....perhaps you're just overheated then? Strange, considering how cold I keep this place......ah well, do you want me and Marius to whip something up for you? Or, if Miss Ellie is feeling any better we can simply go out and shop for a little while and then go eat," he stated, giving numerous options to the pair and looking between the two of them with a calm smile. The smile was a mask though, as it usually was. The calm front he always put on when his heart was racing with either guilt or passion. For once, it appeared that it was passion he was hiding. Looking at Verdant from the corner of his eyes, he had to resist the urge to touch his lips at the sensation from a few moments before.
Yes. Verdant was a dangerous creature, for he'd enjoyed that far too much than he should have.

Orpheus cheeped with glee as he flew up and placed the honey back where it belonged. He then somersaulted back down onto the floor and nodded at Marius. "No problem, little brah! I'm glad ta help!" The wyvern watched his younger sibling float off towards Rhian's mom- oh! Rhian! "You wanna keep playing with the sugar?"
Verdant gasped quietly when he felt Dorian's lips. His forehead suddenly felt very hot and tingly and it took a lot for Verdant not to touch it. Then there was the fact that the older man had pushed his bangs back and if he hadn't seen the scar, then a miracle had just occurred. He wasn't proud of the scar, but hey, he'd seen far worse.
"U-um, I can just eat l-later... if you have a few flowers, I can just get a quick snack in..." Nectar would help calm him down. Yeah, nectar...

Dorian watched Verdant from the corner of his eye, and nodded with amusement on his face as the boy asked for flowers. He'd never heard of that before. Ah well, the boy WAS a nymph, apparently they were a little different than others. Nodding, he gave Marius a look that said 'Stay put, little man' to which Marius nodded and floated to Ellandra to stay by her side, giving her a warm and gentle smile as he did so. He was such a good nurse.
Putting his hand at the small of Verdant's back because he had the excuse to, he led him into the kitchen, blinking vaugely at the dragon and butterfly playing in a mess of sugar, but then shrugged it off and took Verdant to the roses, daisies, and carnations that were in a vase on the windowsill. With a casual smile, he leaned on the counter, watching Orpheus enjoy himself. Hm. Ah well, he or Marius would clean it up later.
"So.....do you feel comfortable telling me about that scar, or should I wait on it? It doesn't matter to me, you're still my friend and you're still incredibly good looking.....it explains your long hair though," he nodded with a smile.

Rhian shok her head. "No, no, Orphy, I don't like being all sugar-white-sparkly!"At last she tok to the air again and fluttered around the kitchen, trailing sugar dust like she was a butterfly sugarplum fairy. "Should we go back to everyone else now, Orphy? I want to help Ellandra. . ."
For her part, Ellandra smiled at Marius as she sipped at the ridiculously sweet concoction he'd brought, trying to will her stomach into settling back down - though it looked as if she had a few minutes, judging by Verdant and Dr. Cromwell. . . but she thught she'd seen the nymph at the ball with a young impling. Hm. Maybe that had just been a one-time encounter. who knew? Maybe she wasn't even remembering the ball correctly, that was possible as well. . . nt that this was any of her business anyway.

Verdant couldn't help but smile at the attention Dorian was giving him. Hell, he didn't even mind that Orpheus was covered in sugar and making more of a mess than there already was. He plucked a rose from the vase and began sucking all the nectar out of it. It was sweet, but there was something slightly odd about it. He made a mental note of telling Dorian to get a water filter. He looked over to the man when he was asked about the scar. He nodded and put the rose back, making sure it was placed neatly back in place amongst the daisies and carnations.
"When I was still living in the orphanage, I got accused of stealing one of the other kids' photo albums. He was a rose nymph and, suffice to say, they're a prickly sort. We got into this huge fight and he ended up scratching my eye. It wouldn't heal for a very long time and when it did, I wound up with this scar. He never apologized to me, even when it turned out that it was someone else who had stolen it." Verdant smoothed out his hair to cover the scar. Dorian thought he was "incredibly good looking;" his face flushed and began fidgeting with the flowers in front of him. "I grew it out partly because I wanted to hide it, but I actually just like guys with long hair..."
[[I'll add Orphy's tag later; I be tired as hell, yo! D: ]]
