"I'd still win the wind fight," She gave Anc a side glance. "It likes me better than you." She pulled the scarf back from her face and mouth, the sun starting to set, a redness filling the desert sky. "My brother is an a**." She added with quirk to her lip, "and Ahmenti-folk would be whining worse than any earth-born if they were forced to be in Earth climate without some kind of control. They hate cold. Being a half breed and raised on Earth I don't mind it myself, but my mother..." She let out a soft chuckle shaking her head. "The temperature drops below seventy and she's hiding beneath a blanket refusing to come out."

"That's whut lightning's fer. Or solid air. That's always fun. Great fer a party.
"Aye, he be an a**. But a good one. Been too quiet since he went after that girl o' his. Goddess knows he takes the entertainment where he goes.
"Benefit o' me blood. HEat 'n cold dunt bother me much. There wasn't many places on Earth I couldn't handle, save fer yer North. Cold was a bit much." The Wanderer slowed his stride, letting Midna walk beside him, "So, whut brought yeh da Ahemta? Yeh mum 'n Dad dunt visit anymore, rarer that the kids did."

"Lightning was my brother's specialty." Mid said tossing her hair back with a stubborn flick of her chin. "My brother's still dead. Whatever rose up is a shade of him, and even that overshadowed by an obsession for his damned witch. She should have been the one to die." Mid bit the words out sharply, her anger hiding the deep hurt she felt from her twin's abandonment.

"If you're so comfortable in cold or heat, then you shouldn't be bitching about Earth-folk and their desire for climate control. They just want to be as comfortable as you are naturally."

She was quiet a moment at the question he asked, then let out a brief sigh. "I came for Shim. We've kept in touch since the day Pat went God-man. Only time we didn't write or talk was when he was possessed." She shrugged slightly. "He's a good kid, and it sounded like he needed help."

"Mom and Dad came over for the wedding, which was when Mom met up with Pat again, but after talking to Nuri she says Shim is just acting up." Mid's eyes narrowed slightly. "He might be just acting up, but I figured if a friendly visit could help in any case."

Anc didn't bother pursue the matter concerning Pat or Ora any further, glad, instead, to have an actual issue to tackle.

"Yeah. The Guardian said sumthin' 'bout him bein' skulkier lately. That's where I'm headed. Figure I gotta break from me wanderin' sumtime and head back da the city."

"The kids like what, fourteen or fifteen? That's the perfect age for sulky." She let out a small sigh, "But still, I'd like to see him...which is why I'm here." She glanced back at Anc, "Guardian, huh? Some fancy body guard? I guess I could just follow with you to the city. I'm still a bit unfamiliar with the planet, home to my mother as it may be."

"Yeah, but yeh got teen angst then yeh get Shim.
"Guardian is me. There's also a me with the Goddess'. In all, there's three of us, and I'm the Wanderer."

"Heh, should have seen teen angst with me and Pat." Midna chuckled slightly, "It's in our blood."

She glanced at Anc an eyebrow raising. "Split personalities?"

The Titan chuckled at her comment about her and Pat's childhood, then shaking his head.
"Nah. Magic. The two Goddess, Sakmis and Bastia, are me wives. When we were dealin' with sum issues, they gave me some items. One bein' a bracelet that makes copies o' me. So when I say there's three of us, there's literally three. An' we can make more 'o us, if needed."

"Fancy," Mid said, raising one dark eyebrow. The look brought out the resemblance between herself and her mother. Mid's features were a bit softer than Sahira's, but slightly prettier for it. "You ever get jealous of yourself?" She asked, casually. The burr of her voice was Sahira's, but the lilt in her tones was an echo of the Chief. Like her twin, she held a good balance of qualities from both her parents. The stubborn set of her mouth though, was purely inherited from her Grandmother Jan. "Besides, dealing with a twin was annoying enough. Someone almost as stubborn, thick headed, and prideful as me. I, at least, have the advantage of being prettier than my brother." She shook her head slowly, "There would be no way I could live with an exact copy of myself, let alone more."

"Helps understandin' there's a job fer each of us. I wander. Frum whut I've seen, I'm the 'god' who makes himself most visible. Folks find it easier da have faith in higher power when some part 'o that power stops in da lend a hand, tell a story, or fight a battle fer 'em. There's a whole new pantheon 'o gods fer folks to pray and hold stock in. I am da keep that knowledge fresh.
"The Guardian protects yer uncle 'n cousin, and will keep their families, and thier kids safe until there ain't no one left da keep safe anymore. While yer here, on Ahemta, he and I keep you safe, too, what with you bein' a blood relative, and me ownin' it da yer mum."
"The yeh git the Stone God. He sits in godland eating, drinking, and having lotsa sex with the goddesses. Apparently his job is da live it up while we hang 'round down here, the d**k."

"So does that make you one and the same, or different?" Mid asked. She ran a hand up through her hair. She kept it somewhat short like her mother. "And who would qualify as the real you? Those thoughts ever bug you guys?" She took a few hopping steps down a sand dune, the sky turning a deep red as the sun went its way. "How far off is this city, by the way?"

"We're all thre the same and all three real. Saying one of us ain't real's saying all three of us aren't. The first is the one in Godland, Guardian and meself all came after. We share a unique link, helps us stay on the same cause. The Guardian told me sumthing was amiss, he already knows I found you and we're on our way." Anc put a heel down and infront, and slid down the dune.
"Not much further."

"But when the day is done and two of you are put to rest, who will be the one standing?" Mid asked a sharp angle to her lips. "Or are all three of you now permanent?"

She wasn't actually that curious, but she enjoyed strewing seeds of questions into other peoples mind. Mid was the type of person who liked to cause fights, and liked to watch them, though she'd never admit it. She tilted her head, and asked a real question, "something amiss? What's happened?"

True enough to Anc's word, up ahead the caves that housed the city piled up over the sand. It wouldn't take much time at all.

"We're all permanent. Real folks, like yeh. I also dunt think any 'o us really understand the bracelett, either." And took the questions like a champ, never really being one to spazz about that kind of thing.
"Like I said, Shim's come up missing. Guardian's huntin' fer 'im."

"You said nothing about Shim being missing, you said he was sulking." Mid's eyes darkened slightly. "Damned, do you have no communication skills? Why didn't you tell me this earlier!?" She glanced at the caves ahead of them and opened a portal in front of her, stepping through to the cave entrance.
