Forcing her voice back into composure, Willowbreeze responded with as much confidence as she could muster, "I'll do my best, Grandmother. I'm sure he'll be a suitable match... Hollysong will see to it."
Slightly comforted by her grandmother's words, Willow went back to preening, preparing for flight as she sensed the visit was coming to an end. Although she still harboured misgivings, she also felt a growing warmth and flutter of excitement. She was so determined to make her mate happy that it seemed as though a fondness for him was already forming in her heart.

"I'm sure he will, child," she offered her granddaughter a rare smile as she puffed her feather out proudly. Soon, her efforts would culminate with the birth of her granddaughter's chicks, whom had a high enough possibility to be born Chestnut that Hazel clung to it. Watching Willow preen, the older female finally hooted slightly, nudging the other sentinel with the tip of her wing, "Now you should go rest up, girl. You should go sleep and prepare yourself. Rest up and gather your strength for what's to come."
Yes, she expected Willowbreeze to make her proud and happy, however, above all... Hazel expected the younger female to make herself happy. She hoped that this ordeal and it's outcome would make Willow happy, and she clung to that hope as much as she did the prospect of chestnut chicks being born into her line.

"Yes, I should go prepare. Any day now we might be meeting, and I want to be ready." She returned the older female's smile, affection overtaking the worry in her eyes.
"Good hunting, grandmother!" With a soft hoot, Willowbreeze alighted and swooped through the trees towards her home territory.

Hazel watched the younger sentinel fly off, her eyes glued on her form till it vanished into the darkness of the forest, "Fair well, child," she murmured lightly before spreading her own wings and diving off in the opposite direction. Her body was old and worn; she needed to find a good meal and then rest up herself before she was due to teach her next class.
