((Guess I'll make the first post hehe ^^. Oh, yeah! FINALLY!! haha))
Only blurs could be seen as a group of cloaked figures ran through forest. The one that seemed to be leading the group, hopped into the air a bit, jumping over a fallen tree that some humans had probably cut down. Another jump into the air, brought the young man up to a tree limb and he began to jump from limb to limb from there. The others copied his movements, jumping into the trees as well. A growl could be heard next to the young man as a creature leaped up from the ground. It was a crisis wolf and there were many more along the forest grounds, chasing after the group. The young man rotated his body as he jumped once more, lifting his leg up and making it come in contact with the corrupted wolf and sending it crashing down on the forest floor. The young man's hood fell back as he faced where he was heading, revealing the known wolf Maolna, Karoku Inugami. He jumped in a zig-zag motion, making sure to keep himself on the limbs and looked back, nodding at one of his teammates. Every person in the five-cell group, let their hoods fly back, allowing their gender and looks to be shown. There were two woman and three men, including Karo, on the team. They all jumped down onto the forest floor and abruptly halted their running, turning around instantly and drawing their weapons. Karo lifted his fists up, seeing as he resented using his katana, and readied for a dangerous battle. The pack of crisis wolf closed in on them and the clash began.
When the fight had ended, Karo dealing the final blow with a quick jab at the head of a wolf, he looked around to see the damage his team had accumulated. A sharp pain struck his side, making him grab the area unintentionally. When he lifted his hand, blood coated his skin. He ignored the pain and wound, continuing to look over his team. One of them had died, a male, and one was wounded terribly, needing quick medical attention. Karo picked the girl up in his arms and looked at the other wolf maolna from his team that were finishing up the burying of the dead fighter. Karo nodded his head and dashed off, knowing the others would be right behind him. In a matter of minutes, with Karo's speed, he had made it to a small village and gotten the girl in his arms the medical attention she needed. The doctor informed him that she would need to rest for a while. Karo paid the man and went off for a walk. He stopped on a bridge and looked down at the water. His other team members walked up beside him and did as he was. He didn't feel like talking right now though, and they knew it.

The world practically whipped past her, but Enya was more amused than she was frightened; she felt like she would never get used to the sheer speed that the Maolna moved at. With a laugh she leaned forward and gripped tighter to Fenrir's fur, slipping one hand under the edge of some of the engraved silver armour he wore. She didn't mind much needed his help to keep up with the other soldiers, though she was curious about why he wouldn't let one of the others give her a lift. "Fenrir," She spoke loudly into his ear so she would be heard, the furry apendage swivled fully into her face and she couldn't help but smile. "How much longer until we reach the outbreak of Crisis Wolves?" She asked him, though she knew better than he did how much longer; Enya was special, she could hear the clatter of the crystal's growing and the sound of the Crystal Goddess's voice within them.
With a bit of amused annoyance, Fenrir turned his head slightly to give her a look that spoke volumes. 'Like I can tell you, woman, you don't speak wolf.' He thought sarcastically at her, and though he knew she couldn't read thoughts he was a bit surprised when she blushed and replied, "I know, stupid question. I can't understand you like this." He looked back ahead and barked out a quick order to the two other soldiers he had brought along, and then they were all transforming back to human form. With a shriek, Enya clasped tighter to his back, her eyes going wide with surprise. "Fenrir!" She gasped at him, her legs curling automatically up despite the fact that he was so tall her feet didn't reach the ground. "Don't chastise me for having some fun with you." He replied, and the whole pack laughed at her, and then they broke through into the village that the Crisis Wolves were ravaging.

"Karo, it was not your fault that Riklo died." Auso, one of the remaining males said to Karoku, trying to make the thought go away. Karo was not thinking it was his fault though. He had stopped feeling that way a while ago. Auso and Yuna, the female wolf maolna next to him, were the only ones that had survived for more than a year in his services. He called them friends, but did not tell them this. A bark could be heard within Karo's cloak before a small dog with wings popped up from his cloak's collar and licked Karo's cheek. The young maolna looked at the dog and smiled. He had had Iio since he was a child, but the dog refused to grow. He was guessing it was because of his race and that he was aging much slower than normal. Karoku lifted his hand to pet Iio on the head then looked back at the water. "I do not feel at fault. It is partly my responsibility since I am the leader, I know, but there was nothing I could do. I am thankful that Cyrille was saved." He lowered his head, looking at his reflection on the water's surface. His wolf ears perked up as he thought he heard a familiar sound, but shook the thought away and continued to glance down at the water. Iio yipped, wondering what was wrong with his master. Karo had been like this for some time now. Yuna and Auso looked at Karo simultaneously, then walked away, leaving him alone just as he wanted to be.

The sound of the crystals was almost painful to Enya this close, but the wolves didn't seem to notice, and not for the first time she felt herself frowning and wondering if there was something wrong with her. 'I need to tell Fenrir these thoughts.' She thought to herself immediately, simply out of habit; he had become her only confidant. She tightened her grip on his shoulders and swung her legs backwards, using his momentum and her own to catapult herself over the wolf. She wasn't as fast as Fenrir, but she could keep up if she wished. Leading the attack, Fenrir dodged sideways and dashed past Enya, the claws of his gauntlets immediately seeking out the Crisis Wolf that was closest, and in perfect sync with him after all of their battles together, Enya closed her fists over her Tiger Claws and fell in line behind him to deliver a second blow.
The two other Maolna split up, dashing to either side before they sprung suddenly at the Wolf, hitting it as one in a coordinated attack. Fenrir couldn't help but feel smug about it, he had helped train them for this: a good pack worked as one. The other Maolna, however, weren't feeling so well; until Fenrir had returned home they had seen the Crisis Wolves as merely sick cousins, and now they were the enemy. "I can finish this one off, go for the Alpha, they might disband!" Enya called out, and subconciously the other soldiers glanced at their leader, but Fenrir was already headed towards the slightly larger Crisis Wolf who was letting out a howl of rage to call in reinforcements.

As Karo glanced into the water, he looked at his bandage and gently touched it. Underneath the cloth, a tattoo rested above his eye. It was the mark of royalty among the wolf Maolna. Karo was one of the princes of the Wolf Maolna, his brother being Fenrir in that situation. He despised living like that, so he left at a young age and became what he is today. Before, he was naive and too kind for his own good. Along his travels, he had changed. Be they good or bad, he didn't know, nor did he care. A few moments later, Iio jumped down from Karo's shoulder, knowing it was time to go walking. Karo walked back to the inn they were staying and where Cyrille was. He sat down next to her bed and lost himself in thought as he looked down at the maolna female. He noticed the pain in his side again, wincing as he did, but soon ignoring it again. He didn't need the others knowing that he'd been hurt and he didn't want to slow down their travels. They were almost to the destination, he wasn't going to rest for a few days because of some flesh wound.

At the call of their leader more Crisis Wolves gathered, and the small band of soldiers found themselves quickly outnumbered. "If I were to say 'oh s**t', would it make you dobut yourself?" Fenrir called over his shoulder to where Enya was finishing up onve of the wolves. "Considering you think you can do everything by yourself? Yes." She replied in an almost good natured voice, completely covering the fact she now felt rather sick. She wasn't joking about doubting herself, the Maolna were more poweful than she was, and if they couldn't handle things... 'Anya, sister, we're in for more than we bargained for.' She thought to herself, missing her twin deeply.
Exchanging terrified glances, the two other Maolna, both males, swung in to go back to back to narrow the possibility of being attacked from behind. "Sir, I think we should call in reinforcements." The younger of the two suggested as he attacked a Crisis Wolf that was lunging at him. "Well thanks, now I can't call in reinforcements!" Fenrir groaned with a roll of his eyes. "What?!" The other soldier demanded as Enya spun to shoot a glare at the prince. "It would wound my pride since it's been suggested." Fenrir explained calmly, and it cause the younger of the two Maolna to snarl under his breath. At that moment, however, because he allowed himself to become distracted, a Crisis Wolf managed to get good bite in to a bit of Fenrir's uncovered flesh, causing him to let out a loud howl of pain.

Rhia was slowly growing tired of the well manicured streets of Muirmor. Hikamitsu, though completely foreign to her in many ways, had somehow become a part of her, and only after leaving did she notice it. The country's endless variety and dynamic culture was far more interesting to her than Muirmor's calculated improvements, and she felt that no matter how lovely and well crafted the cities of her home were, they could not compare with Hikamitsu's connection with the land and nature, and their relentless search for knowledge.
She sighed softly. The small backpack she carried felt almost empty, she felt her current journal jostling against the few necessities she carried with her. Where am I supposed to go to find a guide, she wondered, not for the first time, as she glanced around. Rhia had visited her family and rested for a few weeks, but now she was restless, itching to continue her work. I wish I could just travel alone, but it's too dangerous.
Knowing she was making no progress, she turned down a small side street and sat on a curb, still enough to be mistaken for one of the city's many statues, lost in her thoughts and frustrations. The rough grit on the sidewalk felt, somehow, comforting and familiar, and a small, sharp pebble embedded itself in her palm, burrowing into the callused skin and settling. Rhia hardly noticed.

Her clothing torn, her body aching from recent battle, Tatsu tried to slip into the Muirmorese crowd, attempted to blend in; but with her looks and the way she was dressed, what with her leather scratched and her shirt dirty, her goggles pulled over her eyes and her cheeks smudged, she stood out more than she most likely would have if she stripped naked and did a hula for everyone. She walked with her head up, her shoulders back, almost strutting, bragging about the way that she looked, wearing it proudly as a badge. Stomach growling, Tatsu slipped through the crowd, following her nose, trying to pinpoint something that smelled apeitizing, but she was too tired, she only wanted to find a place to sleep or to find a good healer to ease her tired muscles.

"I said we might be able to get information on those pirates, I didn't say we would."
"It's hard to get any information from them when they're all dead!"
"They shot at me, I shot back."
"You're suppose to shoot all but one when you want information."
"you wanted information, I wanted this book. I got what I wanted. As I recall you killed the last man anyway."
"You killed the last man, shot out half of his chest!"
Malcholar sighed in irritation, but didn't continue the argument further. He wouldn't have killed every man if he thought that there was a chance that they would have the information his newest companion sought. Besides, they men they had killed were simple raiders, not a highly organized group. They were just unlucky enough to have an ancient journal in their possession that Malcholar had been tracking for some time.
His companion, some kind of high-classman turned adventurer. He fought well with a sword though, so he was no burden for Malcholar. He felt their quests were related. They both sought information. Though Malcholar sought information to quell his curiosity, his companion, Rothmet, sought revenge. Which wasn't an uncommon pursuit when tracking pirates.
"We could have knocked one out before the fighting began at least."
"I've told you already, we had no time. They were firing on us almost immediately after we arrived."
"Because you cocked your shotgun!"
"The details aren't important, I'm more concerned with the headache your complaining is giving me."
With that Rothmet fell silent. Malcholar knew that he was too much of a nobleman to want to be a burden. Something that he took advantage of often. It had been three weeks since they had started traveling together. They got on each others nerves, but fought well enough together, that, and their somewhat similar agendas had kept them together thusfar.
Rothmet's shouting had drawn a few glances, but those passed quickly enough. Malcholar's feet had begun to hurt from the six hour trip back from the bandit's camp, so he chose a bench neaby and sat down. Muirmor was where he had been staying the past month. It was almost time for him to move on to a different city, different country.
Thoughts of traveling inevitably brought on thoughts of home, and he looked down to his uncovered hand, the word Dai'n clearly marked, even all of these years later. Branding him an exile until the day he died.
"They probably didn't have any information anyway."
Malcholar simply sighed in response.

Tatsu stopped an intersection and stood there for a moment, feeling a bit dumbfounded and dazed as she glanced at the choices she had to choose from as far as direction went. She was hungry, tired, and in some pain from a pair of Battle Horses she had fought before she arrived in the city, and now she couldn't just keep on walking? "ALL I WANT IS SOMETHING TO EAT!" She roared in anger, causing people nearby her to jump in surprise and others to turn and oogle her. She flashed a grin at them that was more like a baring of teeth, and then she jabbed a finger at someone near by, "You, tell me where I can get a good meal." She snapped at him, her goggles making her look almost alien in appearance. The man's eyes widened in shock, and without a word he hurried away from her and broke into a run.
Annoyed, Tatsu fisted her hands and began jumping up and down like a child, "YEAH! RUN AWAY FROM ME! YOU COWARD!" She screamed at him, and then she let out a long sigh and panted for a moment, letting her anger breathe itself away. "Well, that was fun. Let's go left then!" She chirped to herself happily as she randomly struck a pose, one hand on her hip and the other in the air, before she continued along.

Rhiannon looked out from the small alleyway she had taken refuge in, the sounds of exasperated shouting drawing her attention. The argument rose above the ambiguous chattering of the other people milling about the streets, and she caught small pieces of the quarrel. Curious, she listened in on the conversation.
The voices were distinctly different from each other, one cynical and smooth, his tone thick with sarcasm and a hint of a foreign accent. The other sounded very refined and had the lilting tone of a noble, perhaps even from Muirmor, though Rhia couldn't be sure. From what she gathered, they had both been in a serious fight, and shots were fired. Rather than making her cautious, the conversation lit a spark of hope.
Maybe they'll know where I can find a guide, she thought, biting her lower lip. Still, she didn't want to interrupt their business, so she waited, vacillating between getting up and asking for help or remaining where she was.
Finally, she stood, brushing the dirt off her pants and, surprised she hadn't felt it, dug the sharp rock out of her hand. I'll just walk up and ask whether they know of anyone traveling...anywhere. Who's willing to take me along.

Korsu yawned as he wound his way through a crowd of Muirmorese. He didn't bother trying to blend in. After all his years of traveling, he knew he would always stand out. Dressed all in black, he was the darkest dressed one around him. He got strange looks when people made eye contact and saw his completely black eye's, most of which people recoiled from. If the people didn't notice his eye's, they most likely noticed the thick membranes connected to his arms and chest, allowing him to fly. Thinking of this, he chuckled quietly to himself and grinned to know one in particular, the sun catching on his fangs and making them flash.
He had arrived in this city after being ambushed by a pack of crisis wolves and barely escaping with his life. He still wanted to find and kill them now that he was almost completely healed. After walking around for a while he heard a commotion and someone yelling, female by the sound of it, he found himself heading towards it. He arrived just in time to see a female strike a pose and then continue on as if nothing had happened. She looked as if she had been through a few fights, or brawls, from how dirty and scratched up her clothes were. Curious, and thinking that she was probably an adventurer, he followed Tatsu.

Rhia walked over to the bench where the two men were sitting, introducing herself quickly, before they started to argue again, rolling her shoulders back and adjusting a strap on her backpack. One of them sat with his head in his hands, sighing melodramatically. He looked more experienced out of the two, but she didn't want to bother him.
Smiling hesitantly at the nobleman, she spoke.
"Hello, I'm Rhiannon. I know this is...a bit odd, but I need a guide who can offer me some sort of protection while I travel. Do you know of anyone looking for business? I can't pay much," she said it all quickly, trying to say the words before she became too embarrassed.
The two men stared at her blankly, and she was getting ready to apologize and walk away. Talking to strangers wasn't easy for her to do, and she felt heat rising to her face.
"I'm sorry to disturb you," she added quickly after a moment of silence.

((I feel a bit sorry for Korsu. The Muirmorese are pretty stuck up already, and he's something that no one outside of Khonsalach has seen before.))
Tatsu jammed her hands into her pockets and continued contently on her way, laughing to herself about how much she was probably freaking out the Muirmorese. It was a bit funny, actually, the thought of her scaring everyone else. She was short, shorter than even a normal Hikamitsuian, and they were short to begin with! She laughed louder, a bit too loud, because she caught a fearful stare in her direction, and again she flashed a grin at the person who was looking at her. "What? You never see someone talk to themselves before?" She asked, and to her utter surprise the woman shook her head rapidly no before she continued on her way.
The smell of something containing meat of some sort caught her nose, and with a contented sigh Tatsu changed her course to go after it. She reached up and lifted her goggles away from her eyes, settling them back onto her head, and revealing an area that was perfectly clean around her eyes; if she was odd looking before, her raccoon face just increased that appearance.
