I just got back from a trip this morning. The ride back was about 10 hours. More with food/pee breaks.
It really wasn't bad though. Going there we left at 5 am, and most of us hadn't bothered to sleep the night before, so we could do it on the bus. And we left at 9 pm (not on the same day haha), so again, good time for sleeping.
The annual trip to Los Angeles is 8 hours, but actually feels longer because our buses leave at noon and 4 pm.
For entertainment, we take bus polls, sing drinking songs, and generally are annoying. Except we couldn't do any of that this time around because we had actual nice buses. So we just watched movies.

So we just watched movies. So do we. We are actually extremely good on the nice charter buses, and we behave and pretty much don't talk except a few little whisper chats. For state marching finals, the bus driver commmented on how we behaved better then some of the adult or college groups he had had, and that he had been prepared for the worst, but basically got the bestXD Even after a stop at a mall for lunch we were all quiet, watching transformers in near silence. As opposed to a school bus. Three songs at the same time, screaming, joking, and at one time a game of scrabbleXD(me and my freshman clarinet friend, plus the sax twins and our male mello. It was the freshman's game, and we played twice before we all decided we were tired. he seemed disapointedXD)

21+ hours to DISNEYLAAAND!!!!!
Well, we're going in the spring... but hey, it counts!!
Hmm, well, on the charter bus to the airport one year we... slept. All of us. Our band director put in "Fiddler on the Roof" and we all just tuned it out and slept. XD Doesn't help it was like 4 am.
On this coming trip, my friends and I are planning out how we'll kill 21 hours on a bus. So far it includes the usual annoying songs, pranking people [hooray for duct tape/whipped cream/ect!] and stepping on people! biggrin
But we're also dragging along our "mascot" Trannybear! We'll see if we can't get him to... have a little fun... >w>

10 hours to nyc freshman year. didn't go on the spring trip sophomore year. spring trip for this year is to chicago....which'll be 14+ hours.

Freshman year, our longest planned bus ride was about 13 hours...both ways. Disney, ftw.
Unplanned ride was from 9AM to 4AM due to bus malfunctions and etc.
Both were awesome. It's not a band trip in my county if you get back before midnight, let me tell you that >>

The longest ride was like 3-4 hours. It was to Annapolis.
We watched Bride Wars and Elf, then we stopped at Old Coun Buff (the letters were burned out). xD
I played with my DS and ate candy to keep myself busy. It was boring because the whole bus (even the people behind me) was quiet. -_-
Otherwise, back to the school? WAS HORRIBLE. I accidentally kept my DS on in my purse and forgot to charge it. D: But we watched Elf again. biggrin D
Ohyeah, and back to the school, I got a cold. My band buddy was ready to kill me any second. ._.

Oh! I forgot to say how we kept ourselves busy on the rde to Disneyland in 7th.
Well, we were sitting behind the bd, who was watching videos on his ipod, so we were watching over his shoulder for a while, then they put on a movie but i forgot what movie. Meanwhile, me and my friend were snacking on every disney brand snack we could find at the store, and I played on my gameboy, since I didn't get my ds until christmas 8th grade. We had all kinds of disney food from anearby store. We had disney princess lucky charms(ever tried it dry? love it!) finding nemo fruit rolls, and marshmallow peeps. I know we had a whole lot more, but I can't remeber what. Then me and her fell asleep in odd positions on the way homeXD I was using the headrest of the chair in front of me as a pillow with my heart pillow and build-a-bear stuffed cat on my lap, and she was in a fetal position next to me.

The longest bus ride I've been on was when the marching band went to Florida. It was a 21 hour bus ride (with food and bathroom breaks along the way) ... Driving there wasn't so bad, but driving home was miserable becuase mostly everyone had gotten sunburned!!!

Haha I love how many bands have gone to Disney, including mine! biggrin And I love how you're all like, 21 hours....haha. It took us 27 hours THERE and oh my effing god, it was so fun! xD Truth and dare, story time!, "Sorry guys, you only have 15 minutes to get ready to go to Arabian Nights!" "WHAT?!" haha good times...we were in Florida for like, five days, four of them at Disney, one at Cocoa Beach biggrin Then the bus ride home was only like, 22 hours long haa xD poke fest, chin fest, sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, "Hey Mr Seymour (a band director), do you like flamigoes?!" *paparazzi type of flashes from all through the bus* haha fun times! biggrin

I believe our longest ride (during the years I was in it anyway.) was around 12 hours. Although the bus I was on got into an accident so technically it took longer. gonk
Didn't really bother me, though. iPods and portable DVD players FTW!

i think the longest bus ride on a band trip i've been on was about 2hrs, &it was just to a competition
most people tend to sleep to pass the time..unless ur on the percussion bus, which i hope to never b on from the stories i've heard...
other than tht, we do the usual: talking, listening to music, singing songs, pictochat on our ds's, playing random games, tickling each other, hwk. and couples..yea... let's just say i'm glad tht me and my boyfriend mostly just cuddle on the bus

My longest band ride i have to say is 2 hours? Next year were going to Disneyland so that'll be longer than two hours xD
We keep ourselves entertained umm.. were band kids we do some pretty gross stuff. My bf had his ipod and it had truth or dare. We set the level to PG-13 and R. >.> <.< yea.. we did some of the stuff other things we couldnt bc we werent in the right place and didnt have the right items... Either that or we just talk and do some pretty werid stuff. And chow down on food and candy :]
