At the stray comment, Lluven shook his head defiantly. Even if he was a stray, he wasn't going to let himself admit it, not yet. And he still had his collar, didn't he?
"I'm not a stray," he said again, chewing on his words. "It's my situation, I... I can let myself out sometimes, but my owner still takes care of me."
When she can.
He didn't want to explain it any further. He didn't think a boy like Sol should know about diseases like dementia- even if he did, would he understand? Or did he have no respect for humans, after all?
He was about to change the subject when Sol began pawing at the ground. He looked sheepish, like a boy vituperated for something he didn't mean to do. Lluven closed his eyes and let out a long breath. He shouldn't have got so worked up over it. He was just a boy.
"I understand," he affirmed quietly, looking away. Then, "Actually, I don't understand. Maybe that's why. When I'm really a stray, when I've really got no home maybe I'll know why you asked. But, Sol..."
And here he swallowed hard, looking back at the other cat.
"You can always come by, if you like. My owner doesn't mind me bringing friends. You know, if you need... a hand out..."

Sol frowned slightly as he thought , " are you sure?" He asked pinning his ears against his head, he knew most humans didn't want or like for that matter other cats going into they're house. " I've gotten in lots of trouble for just going willy nilly into a humans house, Once I was hit with a broom. That's really no fun." He told Lluven. " I mean..." He trailed off and shook his head.

Lluven blinked.
"I don't know about other humans. All I know is that my owner trusts me, so if I tell her it's alright, you'll be fine."
That is, if she even remembered who he was. Lately she'd been forgetting his name and forgetting to feed him. He'd have to rummage around and feed himself. Food was running out- if she remembered him for a day, she'd go out and buy some. But she was getting weaker by day, and more forgetful as time wore on. There would be a day when he'd open the cupboard to find nothing, and then maybe he'd be playing the adorable kitten door-to-door himself.
"I'm... not going to be with her for long, anyway. She's old, you see."
He shrugged. He didn't mind sharing the small bit of food he had left; either way, he'd be alright. That was something he always had faith in.

Sol bit his lip as he nodded, " Oh so she's di-" he stopped, and shook his head, " Nevermind." he muttered quickly. he didn't want to bring up anything to bother the other cat. He pushed his eyebrows together. " So how about I show you where a good hunting spot is?" He asked cocking hsi head to the side, he had to change the subject somehow. "I know Izzy, and she stays at the libr-thingy and in the basement theres so many fat little mice. Its pretty easy to hunt there too." He added hoping to not seem so stupid.

Lluven had been expecting that. Sol was just a child, and there was nothing stopping him from being blunt. So when he stopped himself midsentence he was taken aback, for a second, at the sensitivity of the boy.
At the offer of the hunting spot, Lluven grinned.
"That sounds like it'd help a lot. You sure it wouldn't be too much trouble?"
He didn't mind the idea of learning from Sol. He may have been younger, but he had been a stray longer than he had. And looking into his bright, mismatched eyes he reckoned he saw a genuine earnestness. Perhaps they'd grow to be friends- he wouldn't mind that at all.

Sol nodded at the other, " It won't be trouble at all." He told Lluven. " Follow me I'll show you." He said standing up and stretching, He began walking towards the library, "We have to go in the back, The library lady really doesn't like me, but the basement is close to the back, and Don't forget how to get there. If you remember how to get there you won't have to come looking for me all the time when your lookin' for a bite to eat." He told the other collard cat with a nod. "Izzy is a really sweet girl, I don't think she'll be staying around the library for long. She'll probably take up residence with Schmee. Then you'd have it to yourself." He added. He kept himself close to the wall so that none would stop the pair from where they were going. They had to pass threw a few territory to get to where they were going and he knew not to step on anyone's toes.

At first, Lluven only nodded affirmatively to the other's words. It was only when he realized that Sol wasn't even looking at him that he began to grunt in reply, looking about him and doing his best to memorize his surroundings. The longer the savannah followed the other cat, the more he was sure of it. If he wanted to get back to the library, he would have to do it himself- there was no way he'd let himself trouble Sol any further.
At the mention of the girl's name yet again, he felt his ears perk up.
"Izzy... right?" he tasted the word on his tongue. "How come she's staying at the library?"
He figured it wouldn't be the most pleasant place to be, what with so many humans milling about. He had heard about libraries, but Anne-lise had never taken him to one. She was more of a record junkie than a bookworm, though she read to him sometimes. Kids books, meant for her son.

Sol shrugged slightly, " She loves books. She gets really mad is you ruin them. She sorta belongs there. Not many people use the library these days." Sol told the other cat. He slipped threw a small hole in the wall and smiled once they were in the back of the library. " Quickly." He muttered to Lluven scurrying to the basement. he looked around and shrugged at the other, " Seems Izz isn't here tonight." He muttered smirking, " means we get the food all to our selves."

Lluven chuckled as the image of an anile old librarian came to his mind. She was holding up her hand threateningly with an angry expression on her face, and even in his imagination he could feel her bristling. Of course, he was pretty sure that Izzy wasn't that old. She was probably younger than he was. Still, it didn't make the image any less amusing.
"She sounds interesting," he admitted, quickly slinking in behind the younger cat, impressed at his agility.
The inside of the library was cool and dry. He blinked twice and the walls came into focus, and when he heard that the other cat was absent he felt a short-lived pang of disappointment. He could always come back later.
And, well... more pressing matters were at hand. Meaning food. Grinning, he looked toward Sol with the inquiry in his eyes: lead on, Captain.
