Dragonic King of kings Austin Shipp Cowboys will win, nuff said oh really remember 44-6 eagles over cowboys. now i respect the cowboys but i dont really like them. same with the giants. rofl rofl Cowboys are a decent team and a dangerous one. But seriously, they did not add anything and are banking on the team playing exactly as they did back in the mid ninties as usual

vegito61283 Fagonic Queen of the gays Austin Shipp Cowboys will win, nuff said oh really remember 44-6 eagles over cowboys. now i respect the cowboys but i dont really like them. same with the giants. rofl rofl Cowboys are a decent team and a dangerous one. But seriously, they did not add anything and are banking on the team playing exactly as they did back in the mid ninties as usual but did the cowboys lose Brian Dawkins and Jim Johnson. that will be the Eagles Downfall, now storys are coming out that westbrooks ankle is worse that thought as well, u better hope McCoy aint no bust and the Giants lost Spagnolo and Plax, they are worrking with #3 recivers and they dont have the defensive genius like last year. As for the cowboys they rided themselves of T.O who at this point is a VIRUS They released Roy Williams, who was a liability in the passing game Greg Ellis, who did not fit 3-4 at all, and anthony spencer will kick a** at that postion Pacman, Tank both kinda speak for themselves Zach Thomas is DONE now they added Keith Brooking, Nuff Said Igor Olshansky- a big upgrade from chris canty John Kitna, nothing special but can win games if Romo Goes down and if you actually read up on their draft picks, there are bound to be some sleepers in there, 4th round pick brandon williams led the Big 12 in sacks last year. Jason Williams 3rd round pick, His 16.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage led the team and conference. He would capture the forced fumble title in the FCS with six in 2008, as he also finished second in the league with 17.0 sacks. victor Butler 4th round had 12 sacks last year and was first team Pac-10

Brian Westbrook and two bruised ankle bones (from what I have read) and just needed a clean out of his ankle. They say two weeks till weight bearing, three to four weeks rehab and then another four to six till he should be at full strength. After that he will be fine. The guy has been through worse. Besides, they said he would have been fine to Play throughout the season even without the surgery. Yes they lost Dawkins and potentially JJ. BUT they replaced Dawkins with two players who are able to play the position and even the rookie last year played as much time as Dawkins did and save for the Championship Game, there was no drop off. JJ will be a little harder, BUT McDermott has studied under JJ's tutilage for a while and knows the system inside and out. Along with that, they may be better because he has the edge of never being the DC so other coaches will not know what to expect. As for McCoy, he comes from a Pro-Style offense in Pitt. That helps big-time for players coming from college up to the NFL. Plus he has Westbrook to help him along.
Cowboys have rid themselve of a lot of poison and liabilities. But by doing that they have done two things... 1. They have made themselves a more dangerous offense because they will be a by-committee approach and therefore make it harder for other teams to defend. 2. By ridding themselves of those players they have cut some top end talent and weakened themselves. While they did gain Brooking, Olshansky and Kitna, they did not fill the holes that were truly needed.
Now these pickups can make an impact, but two of the three have been in the league a long time and only Igor Olshansky has the ability to stay longer than just 2 more years. But also they never found an upgrade for their DB's either. They are a wild card in the mix right now. They need everything to fall into place early or they will have a very down year unfortunately.
Giants have had just so much happen like the Eagles this year. So I will not get into it totally. They did not find a true replacement 'YET' for Burress and Bradshaw will not be able to bring what Ward did. They did not upgrade their Offense but worked on upgrading their Defense into what already was one of the best in the league to a top 3. Mostly only because of their D-Line. Still no answers to their DB's

Ah, here we are. The thread discussing what is the toughest division in football, the NFC East, my quantum of solace. I had observed the ESPN power rankings for the upcoming season and commented on where my team, the Cowboys stood. They were ranked at 13 and I felt it sounded about right. I made a prediction saying that the 'Boys will take the division with a 10-6 record, and ending that drought of not winning a playoff game. What can I say, I'm just excited about a few people on the roster this year, and I think they can push this team into the playoffs again..... and none of them are the free agents we recently picked up.
With that being said, why did the Giants (Ranked 3) and Eagles(Ranked 4) get placed so high?? I feel like the Cowboys and Redskins both could take them down a couple of notches. Anyone here recall Washington sweeping Philly?? And although many people like to remind Cowboys fans about 44-6 in Philly and 35-14 in New York, Dallas DID split the series with the Eagles AND Giants both. They won't say anything about 41-37 in Week 2, or 20-8 in Week 15. In fact, to Dallas' credit, they never got swept by any of those 3. I say that if you are a die hard fan of any one of these 4 teams, you should know better than to sleep on the other 3 rival teams, even if one of them isn't have a good season. All 4 teams had finished with top 10 defenses last year.

They always have a hard time against their division foes. BUT you have to look at it here. Philly did not have really anyone who was supposed to start back or healthy when they played the Redskins. And they still almost won. Philly split the season with the Giants and the Cowboys. They almost won in the first game against the Cowboys and would have if it were not for many rookie mistakes AND some of the worst timing you could find ever for mistakes. Well I will not get into the rematch save for Philly finally was ALMOST healthy when they played the second time. Giants pretty much Trashed Philly the first time. Once again Giants were healthy and Philly had nothing but backups for most of their key positions (westbrook did not play that game). Second game both teams were on equal footing with injuries and players missing from their team. I can keep going down it for you, but you can ask Austin and a few others that I do look at all angles and I was not overlooking something. Also, make sure you read my posts to see what I was saying. And if you did not figure it out, I am an Eagles fan and still give the other teams the props they deserve. P.S.- Eagles and Giants do deserve to be where they were ranked in those power rankings. They did everything right to improve their teams and lost nothing of real importance. Dallas did what they needed to improve, but at the same time they lost players of importance. That is why they are down that far.

I wasn't trying to piss anybody off here, and I do know where YOU are coming from. I guess I should have said that SOME people like to remind Cowboys fans about 44-6 in Week 17. Second, I was not talking directly to YOU, I meant to speak out to the public audience in the forum. Third, I know you are an Eagles fan. About a week ago you and I were talking about the Dallas running backs, particularly Choice. I complimented you for comparing him to Westbrook, despite the fact you are an Eagles fan. xd Apologies for the miscommunication.

I had about 2 hours of sleep and an entire night of my wife being in the hospital. So needless to say I am a bit frazzled at the moment. LOL And I still think that Choice would be better either getting the Starting position or leaving after his contract is up and searching for a better team that would use him the way he should be used.

Hey, letting you know from experience as an Eagles fan, do not count on them winning the division. Only winning a wild card. They win the division, that is great.
