She laughed. "You want to travel now, hm? We'll see. I think nothing too big first. But if you want, I can show you lots of different places." She had, after all, been wandering around for a good while before she finally ended up here. Zuri had explored many different places.
"Although I have always wanted to see the ocean," she admitted bashfully. "But we don't have to go now, or tomorrow, of course. We can wait. I think I'd like to wait a little bit, maybe." She would 'move in,' as he put it, to his den and finally call the place home for her as well. It was so cozy and just the right size for the two lions.
Then Zuri eyed the water just inches away from her paws. "But before we do any of that, I'm thinking you need a bath." And she dipped a paw into the cool, clear water and dampened his mane and forehead.

Lio smiled at her. "Of course, starshine." He said with a big grin. "We can wait as long as you'd like. Perhaps after a little while of staying here, settling down."
When she put the water on him he smiled and shook himself off, then stood and walked over to the water. "Well, I think you're a bit dirty yourself." He put his paw in the water and splashed her, sending a large wave at her and chuckling. He danced away, hiding behind a big boulder and poking his head out from behind it with his half-smile plastered to his face. He had never been so playful before, but he felt the need to have fun whenever he was with her.

Zuri smiled at the nickname. She liked it. It was special, just for her.
Her new necklace swayed as she tried to dodge behind him, from the sprinkles of water, and finally his soaked paw as it splashed at her, but to no avail. She got sprayed very well and laughed as it happened. "No, I'm not as dirty as you! See all that brown gunk on your pretty blue fur?" She swiped a paw into the water and splashed the wave over at the boulder he was hiding behind. He had taken the only decent defensive spot around; coward.
Zuri quickly backtracked and ducked behind a much smaller rock, half of her body sticking out and in good range of being splashed.

Lio ducked down, shouting out with a noise of surprise. Her splash had gotten him over the boulder, and when he poked his head back out it was soaked, his mane plastered to his face.
"Oh why thank you, you got all the mud off. But look~ Now you're dirtier than before!"
With a grin he jumped into the water, sending a massive wave at her exposed body from the lake. He loved the water; he didn't mind swimming in it like a lot of lions did. He thought it was a good way to cool off in the summer heat, though at that moment it was just freezing cold and he got back out as quickly as he could.

Zuri laughed heartily, seeing the splash from her paw plastered on his fur. What a sight! He looked like a sad little cub, all wet and upset. But he smiled his little smile at her and then she knew she was in for it. Her laugh turned into a shriek and she failed to duck behind her boulder in time to avoid most of the splash. Now she looked almost just like him, except a bit drier.
"You...cheater!" And she launched herself back into the pool, her splash aimed at him in retribution.

Lio laughed out loud, running from her and around the pool. He snuck through the entrance of the rocks and into the open fields, running back towards their den. He ran fast, dripping water behind him.
As he ran he thought that this was his life now, that this is how it would always be. He knew he was in love and that he would remain happy for the rest of his days, and that was a good feeling.

Oh, what a sneaky cheater he was! He completely avoided most of her splash by escaping out and running to who-knows-where. Well, he wouldn't get away so easily, that was for sure. Zuri quickly launched herself back out of the pool and out the entrance to the little watering hole, dripping water as well.
She chased after her new love, intent on catching up with him. What she would do, she wasn't sure yet, but he better beware anyway.
It was actually a funny feeling to think that: once she caught up to her new love. It wasn't so long ago that she had almost given up on herself for finding love, having met so many males and not one of them had given her the spark like Lio had. Patience pays off after all.

Lio glanced behind and saw her catching up with him. She really was fast! She wasn't kidding when she said he had to get in shape, he was much slower than her. She was already very close to him when he reached the den, skidding to a halt inside.
Trapped! He looked around, then hid behind the opening to the den, hoping to jump out and tackle her when she went through the entrance. He grinned and laughed softly at his ingenious plan.

She could see him, she was getting closer...and then he disappeared. Her brow furrowed in confusion, Zuri slowed to a halt at the opening of his--no, their--den and peered inside cautiously. Where had he gone? She could have sworn that he had just been here.
He was old and slow, she told herself with a giggle. He couldn't have gone far after she had almost caught up to him like that.

Lio jumped out of his hiding place and tackled her, yelling Boo! as he did so. He started laughing and he gave her a playful lick on the cheek, almost as though asking for forgiveness for his prank.
"Hello there starshine." He said with a big, goofy grin. He stood and shook himself off, still rather damp from their escapades in the water. He ventured a little further into their den - how nice it was to think their instead of his - and settled down, tired from the days activities. He yawned loudly and gazed over at her, smiling as he looked at the stone 'round her neck. It really did suit her perfectly.

WHAM.
She was knocked down to the ground with an extremely heavy lion on top of her, and all she could do was gasp for breath, having it knocked out of her. She glared playfully up at him. "That hurt," she berated, sniffing and rolling to sit at the other side of the den. Then she found that she didn't like being away from him, which ruined her plot to stay away until he came to her.
Debating, Zuri finally scooted over to lay down beside him, also still damp from their water play. She rolled her eyes at his yawn. "Take a nap, sleepy," she murmured, putting her head on his shoulder and pushing his head down to the ground in a sleeping position.

Lio chuckled and licked her cheek. "Oh I didn't realize you were so sensitive." He teased playfully, smiling over at her. He would have went to her in two seconds flat if she had decided to keep up her fake anger play, but when she came over to him he smiled and nuzzled her.
"I can't help it, I'm a night owl." He said with a chuckle, another yawn escaping his maw. He let her push his head down, setting it on his paw. "Well, if you insist." He said smiling his half-smile up at her. He loved the fact that the last thing he saw when he fell asleep was her face, and he smiled as he drifted off, since now he knew the first thing he'd see when he awoke would be her face. It was a wonderful thought, and he slept more soundly than he ever had before.

Zuri stuck her tongue out at him. "Of course I'm sensitive, I'm a girl," she retorted, rolling her eyes again. She stayed where she was, breathing softly, until she heard his breathing quiet and lengthen into even pauses, signaling that he was asleep. Smiling at how easily he drifted off-in the bright sunlight no less-she made herself a bit more comfy and closed her eyes, not adverse to drifting off herself after 'resting her eyes.'
She could get used to this. Oh yeah. Easy.
