Kafara bit back a laugh, feeling it was better not to giggle at him for his slip up. It wasn't what he said that was so funny, it was how he reacted to his own words. It was rather adorable-- especially when he said they were his only friends. She didn't have to try to hold back her laugh now, she was only smiling. He was a bit odd, randomly approaching her as he had, but she most decidedly believed he was sincere and rather sweet. If he had no friends, it seemed like he was just trying to change it.
"I'll be your friend," she said, picking up the pace a bit so she was a bit ahead of him, "If you'll be mine."

I'll be your friend.
The words surprised Enzi, he was too busy worrying about how he sounded to realize that he wasn't really coming off as a stammering freak. His heart skipped a beat and he almost stumbled as she moved a bit ahead of him, looking back to him with a smile. The recovered fairly quickly and couldn't have stopped smiling if he tried.
"OK," he agreed, "Deal."

She had a friend. It was a good feeling, even if it was something they agreed on rather than just let happen. Or maybe it was just they both needed to hear it said to relax a little bit. Whatever it was, she was feeling good about it.
"Good," she said brightly, feeling more brave, "Now let's go." Kafara jumped ahead a bit more, taking the lead as the reached the waterhole. They could find something fun to do here or after they left here, either way she was happy to lead the way.
Fin.
